In the middle of epic chaos, a being had placed a stop to the sequence of magic outbursts, leaving everyone present petrified at his dazzling masculinity.
The man with a head full of heavy red hair packed in a quiff stood in absolute demeanor, glaring at his next victim.
Before the eyes of his audience, he moved at a speed comparable to that of light, his form only as a blur in the air.
His trailing Katana, coated with a heavy sheet of drooping blood tore through the air with an elegance regal, exuding its aura as if it had a life of its own.
At an impalpable speed, the sharp edge of the weapon bellowed down at the heavy left arm of the Duskmaw Ravager, easily slicing through the part as if they were melting butter.
Blood gushed out from the beast that stood without its usual predatory instinct.
At this moment, it knew it had met its match, or even one that surpassed it in folds. But before it could make a run for it, the beast saw itself losing its life to the overpowered strength of the Katana – which was more adorned with the graceful handling of its user.
Swiftly it saw the other arm dangle off its body like a shallow-rooted plant during a hurricane.
~Roar~
Those were possibly the only things the monster could do at this rate, sterilizing the environment with its roar that was supposed to be a symbol of predation and might.
And like those roars were the words it decided to breathe last, the huge head of the Ravager made a clean split from its neck.
The ground ended up as a pool of fresh blood, barely visible underneath the night that had lost its moonlight.
Only the man with crimson-red hair stood distinct in the surroundings, entwined in his luminous ray of light.
He turned to his onlookers, a smirk lodged at his lips, "I'm Ryuu!"
…
Meanwhile, Adam saw himself closely standing beside his mates, his eyes observing the unnatural demeanor of the latter.
'Is this human?'
Only those thoughts echoed within his mind. How could a person single-handedly kill two awakened beasts in under a minute?
Even the Elite Master would have found such a feat impossible. And as for him, he'd almost lost his life dealing with just one.
The Elite Master as well suddenly appeared out of the blue, striking his figure in front of his followers.
"I'm Ryuu Kyushishu! From a local farmstead in…"
The voice seemed to have paused for a moment, his expression lost in the darkness, then they sprang up again,
"..in Moorloch!"
The figure walked towards the group, his aura thought to be able to unlock the gates of heaven diminishing under the tension of the Elite Masters.
But yet, it still didn't feel right.
When the boy stood only inches before the four people before facial concept could be figured out. Although still unreliable in the darkness.
But one person had quickly shown his excitement after marking out the latter's facial proportion.
This student was the one known as Yung Chinto.
Having spent six years in Moorloch, he lived almost as a lone wolf, obscured in serenity over his Asian features.
Not that he was typically discriminated against in the academy, he just thought it would be more comforting to someone who came from a descent closer to his.
And as for Adam, he gazed at the boy with a frown dawning upon his face.
Looks like nature wasn't giving him the pleasure of an easy spotlight.
Just when he thought his greatest rival had been damned, which wasn't good news, another lad, obviously more powerful than him came into the picture.
The boy looked no more than the age group of the student – between seventeen and nineteen. Yet, he had acquired such natural radiant that made them choke on their breath.
As for the last student, he looked unconcerned to the maximum, at least, while he was sure the latter wasn't an even more terrific beast.
The Elite Master as well was dazed, even to an extreme extent when compared to the students.
Only he knew how formidable an awakened beast was, and yet, he saw a teenager who had barely attained adulthood make a massacre from them.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, where a combat prodigy had leaped bounds of power that higher mage who ranked themselves as almighty.
But lucky for him, his aura hadn't been quenched by the pulse he thought had radiated from the latter. Otherwise, it would have rather been a shame.
Yet for some reason, he felt like the kid was holding back on what radiated off him.
"How old are you?" The voice of the Elite Master, for the first time, was soft and cool.
Like the way a man would speak to someone, he couldn't afford to offend.
"Eighteen! Elite Master." Ryuu bowed, a smile spread over his cheeks.
'I mustn't lose this precious gold. Imagine what such man will work against the Luxols.'
'Or how indomitable he would be when sculpted by the Elite Serenity. He will become an invaluable asset.'
Staring at the midnight eyes of the latter, the Elite Master could only blabber words of wonder to himself.
"Elite Master! I learned you would be in this forest with your students,"
He gave his usual pause for some seconds before continuing, "and wanted to test my chances of being enrolled as a student! And possibly-"
"work with your chosen students for your great mission."
Ryuu's words seemed to dazzle all beings before him as a silent hovered above his bowed head.
"How did you know about…"
"News about the Elite… Serenity is widespread in town, sir."
Another silence loomed over the bowed head of the lad.
His red hair that trailed down to his waistline even though packed in a high quiff was even as enchanting as his personality.
His clothes were heavy and pampered like an appropriate Japanese fitting for an adventurer.
Unfortunately, the teenager didn't exude the personality of a stead boy at the very least, especially with his Katana that leased a gleaming brightness although enclosed in a black sheath with intricate red patterns.
"You don't look too much like a boy from a farm instead,"
The Elite Master was thinking aloud, his gaze wandering the appearance of the bowing lad, "But it doesn't matter. Prodigies like you should never be abandoned in a system such as Moorloch's."
In the end, outstanding dominance during battle won the heart of the Elite Master.
Ryuu stood upright with a respectful smile and then turned to his new mates… especially Yung who'd posed an initial good impression.
"Thank you for accepting me!"
But all the while, Adam glared at the lad with unfathomable dislike.
People like this. They were the masses in any school-like province, aiming to win the hearts of the teachers while behaving like angelic souls before them, and then becoming the exact opposite when their faces were turned.
'Accepting you, pfft! I'd rather run off with Acer.'
