Chapter 113: Jax: Time Crunch

Isach's definition of "on his way right now" was different than mine because he didn't show up until almost three hours later. By the time he walked through the front door, I was beyond annoyed, and my nerves were frayed.

His gaze sought mine, and he took a small step back. "I can explain," he said.

"You'd better," I snapped.

"Easy, Jax," Abby said in a calming tone.

"I was on my way here when Queen Flynn called. The Draven Coven has opened their castle doors and invited the royal covens in early." Isach placed a quick kiss on Abby's forehead, then wrapped his arm around her.

"So what does this mean for us and our plans?" Chloe asked. She rested her hands on the back of the couch and leaned forward as if suddenly exhausted.

"It means we'll probably have to move faster than we originally thought." Isach sighed and raked his fingers through his hair.
