280 Look who's here (Part 2)

Outskirts of capital, Chandragarh

The man lifted his face and blinked the blood away from his eyelashes.

Bela paled in surprise as she took in the features of the ghost from her past. This face had haunted her for many years now.

"Regretting your decision to save me now, Charulata?" the man grinned and slowly got up.

Bela immediately drew to her full height and replied, "Not at all. Why would I be sorry about the unexpected gift which I have received tonight? I have waited for nearly two decades for this day to arrive. Welcome to hell, Suryakant," with that Bela brought her hand crashing down on the guy's neck.

The man's head rolled but before he could fall to the ground, Bela lifted him and dragged him towards the horse's saddle. Tying his waist with a tight rope, she loops that rope around the saddle and let his body hang by the side of the horse . She climbed nimbly on the horse and turned it around completely, as she made her way back to the capital.

Her blood was thirsting for revenge and in this moment, nothing else mattered except for extracting retribution from the unconscious man besides her.

Prithvi had just hit the bed few minutes ago when there was a knock at his door. Suddenly alert, he made his way warily towards the entrance of his house. Not many people knew that he lived here and out of those, he couldn't think of anyone who would visit him.

He put his ear to the door but couldn't hear much. Tiptoeing towards the window on his left side, he opened it and slipped out of there to go around the house and have a look at the 'unexpected guest' at this hour.

His head was busy figuring out various possibilities but he froze when he took in the tableau in front of his door.

Was that Charulata didi with an unconscious man by her side? What was she doing here?

He didn't hide the sound of his footsteps anymore and went running to reach her. Bela turned at the sound of someone approaching from behind.

When she saw Prithvi with a befuddled expression on his face, a dazzling smile spread across her lips.

"Look, I found myself a treasure. It's too troublesome to carry it all the way to Northern zilla. Can I use your place to play with it tonight, instead? Don't worry, I won't disturb you and will leave early morning from here to go to Himprayag. I promise to ride non-stop to make up for the lost time tonight," Prithvi had never seen this side of his mentor.

She was being coy and persuasive. He had no clue who the person was but his future wasn't looking great, seeing the crazy light in Charulata didi's eyes.

He didn't say anything and bent down to pick the guy up on his shoulders. Grunting a bit under the weight, he asked her to follow him.

Going around the backyard, he opened a near invisible door which was embedded in the wall and asked Bela to go in. He followed her and dumped the guy on the rough floor once they were inside. Bela took in the chamber's details with barely suppressed delight. There were all sorts of sharp knives, weapons, whips and more kept in there.

Prithvi saw her skip like a little girl in a candy store as she moved from one corner of the room to another. This was his personal chamber meant for pleasure and torture. He had spent many memorable nights here with his now deceased lover.

Prithvi thought back to the letter which he had received couple of days ago from his link informing him that his 'dear backstabbing lover' had bitten his tongue and killed himself to avoid giving out more info about his companions and their plans.

The unconscious man's groan pulled Prithvi out of his thoughts.

As the man regained his senses, Bela addressed Prithvi in a gleeful tone, "Oh I almost forgot to do the introductions. Prithvi, meet Suryakant, the man who is responsible for my near death and expulsion from Suraksha Chakra. He is the one who got away that night."

Prithvi, who was almost never shocked, felt his mind blow a fuse at this moment. He knew which night was she talking about. His mind started replaying the bloody scenes with so much clarity as if it had occurred recently.

"Where did you find him?" he didn't realize that his voice was barely above a whisper.

Suryakant had sat up now and was taking in his surroundings with a tiny smile on his lips.

Bela threw her head back and laughed, "Would you believe me if I told you that he was like a gaily wrapped parcel waiting for me by the roadside? Since the gift was meant for me, I brought it back. Even though it came a couple of decades late, I am not going to be petty and refuse it."

Suryakant looked at the crazy woman in front of him and then at the thin, pale guy next to her.

"Look, it is all in the past. I am no more the guy that I was. Can't you see my condition right now? I couldn't even defend myself against those useless punks tonight. On the other hand, you look like that you have been living a good life. Is this your lover, husband? Anyways… I am really sorry about that time. It was nothing personal. I was carrying out my task, just like you were," he said with a shrug.

Even though he was speaking politely, his arrogance was visible in the hateful smirk on his face. It was as if he was rubbing the fact in her face that she had been defeated by him.

Charulata had been a fast-upcoming spy at that time with legendary stories spreading about her skills. Suryakant had also heard her name in the circle. If she was a legend in Chandragarh, he had been her counterpart in Saptsindhu. Sent undercover on a mission here, he had been the youngest member of his team but had led from the front.
