True Love

In a distant galaxy deep in the cosmos lies a single blue planet much like our own, however, when one looks up at the deep blue sky you'd notice two beautiful suns illuminating the land.

Unlike the typical yellow star we are so accustomed to, these small stars have a tinge of red in them creating a heavy and somewhat terrifying atmosphere.

This planet is named Gaia and on this small blue planet, there is only a single continent that covers almost forty percent of its surface. Surrounding the main continent are many small islands, even though only a handful of them are inhabited and safe to live on.

Although the world is quite beautiful and rich in minerals and wildlife, the continent itself is a gruesome and cruel place.

The technology and advancements in society have ceased to advance for centuries as there is only one thing in the minds of the rulers of this world; War.

Following the law of the jungle, the strong prey on the weak making the powerful richer and in return the common people suffer and despair.

The continent is further divided into 12 countries, some smaller than others, but even so, the borders are constantly changing.

The largest country is located in the middle of the continent and is named Sunflower, due to its vast fields filled with beautiful flowers, but also because the multi coloured flowers of the land are constantly dyed red with the blood of the enemies of this land, giving the flowers a red tinge just like the sun.

Being in the centre of the continent brought death and war to its borders as it shares them with five other countries.

Fortunately, the kingdom of Sunflower is filled with many natural resources allowing the country to prosper. In the past, however, the five countries surrounding Sunflower envied their good fortune and declared war on all fronts in an attempt to gain more benefits.

In a city at the border of the country, there is an ancient, tall and majestic pagoda that's 15 stories high, with each floor having a circumference of 60 meters.

This is the watch tower of the family that has protected this southern border and city for centuries, but if one looks closely, they would notice it's closer to a ghost town as not a single breath of life could be seen or felt.

At the top of the pagoda, in a room decorated with many artifacts of different cultures and professions, is a single man in his late sixties kneeling on a huge white pillow big enough for the giant man.

As he knelt down on the floor facing the open balcony door, the high altitude winds blew onto his muscular and defined body that could only be developed by countless years of training.

As the setting suns shone on him, they reveal the hundreds of scars on his tanned body that would have killed any normal man if they were to receive the same injuries.

As the rays of light begin to fully disappear, he finally opens his only eye as the other has three scars that begin from his forehead down to his neck that came from some kind of beast.

His golden eye emits an oppressive and intimidating aura displaying his fearsome yet tranquil and deep soul.

As he takes a deep and long breath filling his lungs with the rich energy of this world, he finally spoke in a hoarse and mature voice, "It's finally time..."

He slowly made his way to his feet stretching his body along the way as he finally reaches a staggering seven feet tall as he stood straight up.

He walked out onto the balcony and looked down at the ghost town below as it seemed to become bustling with the sounds of marching.

His long gray hair flew in the strong wind blowing against him as he stood straight and unmoving like a true overlord looking down at his subjects with an unwavering gaze.

He released a long sigh as he tied his hair into a pony tail and walked back inside towards the opposite wall.

Behind a gigantic desk that's most fitting of a man of his stature, he placed his hand under the desk and a loud click followed by small rumbling could be heard.

He turned around to look at the wall that began opening up for him and a large glass show case that was three meters in height and ten meters in length appeared. Inside the showcase, five wooden stands could be seen, these were his most valued possessions.

In the middle stand was his trustworthy Armor that has been with him for the later half of his life but before he walked to his armor he went to the last stand on his right, which held a single necklace with a small rock that seemed to be filled with a myriad of colours that continued changing every second.

This was the only item his father left him and the only item his ancestors protected and kept secret from the world. This small rock supposedly came from the heavens as it fell from the sky one day years ago and became a holy relic for his family.

The man thought that if he is to die today, then he will take his families heirloom to his grave.

After putting the necklace on, he walked past a stand that held eight different weapons on it, past the stand holding his armor and stopped at the next stand holding a small bag that could be attached at the waist.

He chuckled to himself and muttered with a slight smile, "if I somehow survive this ordeal then I would definitely need you".

He attached the bag to his pants at the hip with a somber smile as he reminisced about his past and began to put his armor on.

This Armor was a gigantic dark green samurai styled Armor that wasn't as bulky but still covered his most important body parts.

There was a helmet with a mask of an overbearing demon with large protruding saber shaped teeth and a furious expression.

A large chest plate that covered his whole torso in the front and back, with a terrifying mythical face of an ancient turtle beast engraved into the whole front side of his Armor.

Two huge shoulder and upper arm guards with three spikes on each piece of Armor and two arm guards that cover his forearms all the way to his knuckles with three small spikes where the knuckles would be.

The armor for his thighs and hips were all plain, separate pieces as to not hinder his movements. His boots, however, were ghastly as they reached his knees and every inch of them were covered in spikes and were made of much thicker pieces of armor, each weighing an ungodly amount.

Piece by piece he became more solemn and then turned to his weapon stand. From top to bottom, smallest to largest, there were eight weapons on this stand.

He grabbed the largest first and unsheathed the blade a couple of inches as he looked at his reflection on the blade, his golden eye was unwavering and filled with killing intent.

This monstrosity of a weapon was a Nodachi witha blade length that was about three meters. It weighed about thirty kilos and was thicker and wider than a normal Nodachi.

It was the weapon he used primarily on the battlefield as he fought alone on the front lines as the guardian of this border city. Attaching it to his left side he moved up from there and continued to attach all eight weapons.

Next was a straight Tachi that he attached to his right hip, two Wakizashi to his lower back with a handle on the left and right, two short double edged axes to his upper back, a short army knife on his upper left arm and finally a beautiful curved and wide carving/chef's knife on his upper right arm. Out of all his weapons, this was his absolute favourite.

That's right, other than war and death, this mans only joy in life was cooking and most importantly, eating!

He never married because of his duty to his country but more specifically, he didn't want his family to die because of him and become his only weakness to be controlled by others.

He married his love for food as that was the only thing keeping him sane in this barbaric world, as he tried as many of the different delicacies this world had to offer as he could.

Since he was born, all his time was spent into honing his mind and body into a living weapon for the sole purpose of taking over his fathers position as the guardian of the south.

Over the years, he's become sick and tired of this inhumane world filled with war, death, and conspiracies that increased the greed and selfishness of humans which made him lose his closest friends and allies due to petty squabbles and the whims of those in power.

With no attachments left for this world, this is where he makes his final stand.
