Life and Death

As the Red-Eyed Ape, that monstrosity, descended upon Li Shuyi like a shadow of death, its face contorted with relentless fury and ferocious bloodthirst that seemed to destroy the entire world. 

And even so. Li Shuyi did not falter like before. 

Fear is the primal instinct of humans and could not be ignored so easily with just a vague epiphany. 

At that moment which seemed to be endless, Shijie's heart raced with fear. However, this time, he didn't dwell in despair. 

Before, Shijie was terrified of death, and when one is terrified of death, one would easily succumb to despair when there is a lack of hope. 

Shijie was terrified of death. But it only lasted until he realized the vague reality of life. 

Life's a rollercoaster. One moment, you could be joyfully walking on the street while humming a song that you've heard in the countryside. And then the next moment, you could be lying on that same street—on your very last breath.
