Reunited with an enemy

Sheila stuck her head out the window as she felt the cold autumn breeze come in contact with her face.

It had been an awfully long time since she had gone on a vacation.

Ever since her mother died she had been in a grounded state only allowed to go to school and come back home and nothing else.

She felt like her father had taken the joy of being a teenager from her.

But suddenly, her father had a change of mind and was now personally taking her camping.

Her previously aggressive and stone hearted father was now filled with joy and life as he had been in constant laughter throughout the entire trip.

Sheila felt elated about this and she wished this ecstatic character which filled her father would be continuous.

In this outing, they were going camping, one of Sheila's favourite outdoor activities.

Her mood had been turned on when her dad informed her that they were going camping the day before.

She might not know the cause of the sudden change of her father but she just prayed inwardly that it wouldn't stop.

By the time they got to the camp site , they immediately began to setup their tents.

Initially, Sheila and her father had decided to go alone just to have a little father-daugther bond. But coincidentally, it so happened that the neighbour also were about to embark on a camping trip.

So Sheila's father had to adjust his plans.

Once the tent was set, Sheila's father had Sheila and Bryan, the neighbour's son, fetch firewood for the campfire.

On the way, Sheila and Bryan chatted away as they began to slowly collect the required fire wood.

'Rooooaaaaaaar'

They halted their pace when they suddenly heard a low roar from behind them.

A chilling filling crawled down their spine as the felt a tenacious gaze wash them from behind filled with killing intent. Only one thing could come to their minds,...

"Run!"

Bryan bellowed as they began to lift their feet moving their feet as fast as they could carry it not daring to look back at the ferocious beast which chased them.

Cerebius searched the forest for the new recruit which had escaped the hideout.

The Moon was full so he suspected that a transformation had occured.

If that was so, the matter would become more perilous as it was still an unusual thing for the former to transform hence the process would be very painful and unbearable.

Moreover, he was just newly turned so he wouldn't be able to fully control himself when turned.

Knowing this fully well, Cerebius activated his warewolf form and then hastened his speed.

He could only hope that there were noone in the forest right now else he couldn't fathom the amount of havoc which will occur if the wolf encountered a human.

It would be even worse if that said human was a hunter.

The Chase continued as the beast seemed to never cease in its tracks.

Bryan couldn't take it any longer.

He sighted a large chuck of wood and, while running, he grabbed the would not daring to stop.

Immediately, he stopped and turned back and....

The sight before him made him stupefied.

While they were running they had not seen the beast which set them In a state of a constant dash but now they did.

"It's a freaking wolf!". Bryan bellowed .

"What's a wolf doing in this part of the country". Sheila added.

She too had stopped to gaze upon the ferocious beast.

The Wolf was larger, taller and one could even see traces of muscles around the wolf's body.

It's yellow eyes which seemed to be glowing even gave it a much more scarier look.

Sheila's fear for the creature intensified as her body began to shiver unconsciously.

As for Bryan, he held his position and held the wooden chunk by his side and initiated a crouched stance bending his knees and staring at the wolf which reduced it's quickened pace, now slowly advanced towards them giving them a cold stare with it's yellow eyes.

"Bryan, what are you doing!". Sheila beckoned.

"We can't keep running, sooner or later, that thing would have caught up with us anyway." He answered

Sheila couldn't immediately give a reply as the wolf became impatient and pounced on the two.

Just when it neared them enough, Bryan swung his arm and the tip of the wooden chunk connected with the beast's jaw which sent the beast flying.

He felt as hand go numb as he had used every strength he had in him and charged on the beast.

He fell on the ground with a knee.

If the wolf attacked them now, they were sure to be dead meat.

He could only hope that the beast wouldn't get up.

Unfortunately, Bryan had truly underestimated this creature as the beast rose up and retained it's former stance.

It's yellow eyes focused on its attacker and then began to leap ferociously.

He would cover several yards with just a single leap. So naturally, It didn't take long before the beast neared them.

With a final leap, the big dog towered on top of Bryan revealing it's razor sharp teeth which was ready to crush Bryan face as soon as he reached within it's grasp.

Suddenly a blurry figure appeared beside the wolf and immediately the wolf was pushed several yards away from where it had been before.

Just as they were about to accept to imminent fate which befell them, a ray of hope suddenly grew in their heart as a savior had come to their rescue.

Atop the lying wolf stood a man.

He had jet black hair and he wore a leather jacket. His head was tilted to the side which made Sheila notice a green illuminating glow in his eyes.

Her observation was stopped midway as Bryan grabbed her arm and began running like never before.

He soon reached the clearing where the beast had began it's chase and gazed at the firewood they had dropped while trying to escape the clutches of the beast.

They picked up the wood and started their journey back to camp.

As soon as they reached camp, she dropped the wood and headed to her tent immediately.

She knew that this was the end of her social life.

If her father found out about the wolf he was sure to resume his previously rigorous lifestyle. She had to stop him from knowing about the incident else her entire teenagehood would be ruined.

As she stepped outside to go meet Bryan, she heard a deafening roar.

As soon as Xerebous rendered the wolf unconscious, he simply revealed his green eyes to the wolf and he transformed back.

After, he followed the pair he had seen earlier to ensure they left safely.

He followed them until they got to a clearing.

He watched the girl enter her tent then a familiar voice caught his ear.

He saw a man enter the clearing and then he noticed marks on his arms, legs and shoulders.

Soon memories of his past began to flood him.

He could feel himself transform unconsciously.

He let out a roar which shook the entire forest and alarmed the camp of people gathered at the clearing.

He wasted no time as he lept at the man with the marks.

He snarled his teeth at the man as he tried to resist.

As a defense measure, the man grabbed a nearby stone and hit it on the wolf's head.

But the attack barely shook Cerebius as he grabbed the stone with his teeth and threw the stone away.

He then felt a burning wood hit his back. The barrage of attack was too much so he was forced to flee.
