Chapter 4: No Limit

The sun, a fiery orb in the sky, peeked through the gap in the curtains, painting the room in hues of orange and gold. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves outside, carrying with it the scent of blooming jasmine. 

In the manor, amidst the hushed whispers of dawn, a beautiful maid prepared to awaken her young master. (UGH Cringe!)

As she opened the door, she saw her young master already awake.

"Ahh young master you woke up early today"

Duncan turned his face towards her looked into her eyes and said "Yes, I will have breakfast after that I wanna bath."

On the maid's face suddenly confusion appeared, "But... How did you know I was going to ask this young master?'

'Ahh she came here when I was thirteen'

Duncan with a plain face calmly replied, "This is what every maid asks when I wake up in the morning"

Anya's heart skipped a beat. She had never imagined such a thing was normal, "Sorry young master I will take note of it"

Her voice was laced with a trace of fear.

"Go prepare my breakfast" Duncan waved his hand and said.

After listening to what her young master said she left from there as if running away from a beast

When she closed the door, The first thing Duncan said was, "Status"

I should not dwell on these things first I will get those things then I can start thinking of else.

"Young master the breakfast has been served"

The maid came to the door and said.

"Prepare clothes for a hike"

"Young Master but Master has said you are not allowed to leave because there is an important event in the evening"

The maid said with some hesitation and fear.

"You are my maid and you will follow my orders, now prepare the clothes"

Duncan replied when he heard what the maid said.

After Eating he started preparing for half an hour, Duncan left his room and came to the nearby station.

He couldn't take a car because they would have trackers on them. He knew Uncle Mi would still follow but he could shake him off in the hotel.

Although because of his previous memories, he knew the artifacts were there he still couldn't help but hurry.

After traveling on the bus for an hour, Duncan finally reached his destination.

"so this is the famous Sunset Mountain also known as Abyss Lords Sanctuary, it's tall"

This mountain is very tall and is surrounded by several space rifts, many have climbed this mountain because even its top is surrounded by space rifts, and these space rifts open to unknown destinations in the void.

But none gained anything not even a basic skill for lighting a fire.

But this rule doesn't apply to the protagonist they are the entertainment of gods after all, how can they not gain anything just because of a space rift? When on a tour the villain will push the protagonist into a rift and unlike other rifts, it will lead him inside a room in this mountain.

"Hmm, let's see, a red and sinister-looking rift surrounded by 7 black color rifts on the backside of the mountain near a beautiful lake"

"oh! found it!"

It looks sinister but he can't do anything about it, he will have to go inside, this is the only way to become strong. Duncan jumped into the rift with his back facing the rift, suddenly a sense of weightlessness came and his senses got blocked.

After a few minutes, he found himself standing in an ancient-looking room. Everything here is very shabby.

In the middle of the room, there was a magic circle on which a thick red blob was floating.

Duncan walked to the middle of the room took out a dagger from his storage ring and made a small cut on his finger. He dripped a few drops of blood on the floor.

Suddenly, the complex magic circle room started to glow brightly.

"argh!"

Duncan started to feel pain all over his body and after 5 minutes the pain disappeared and the glowing magic circle faded away with the blob nowhere to be seen and a portal opened in front of him.

Without hesitating, he entered the portal and after a few minutes, he found himself standing near the same lake. It was already getting dark. He checked the time on his wrist clock and found that it had been only one hour since he entered the rift.

"I will look at my status later, let's leave this place first, after dark due to some unknown phenomenon these rifts will produce a suction force that can swallow a weak person like me easily."

Only people above Rank B can resist it. Without wasting any more time Duncan headed toward a nearby hotel.

Inside the room of a Hotel near Sunset Mountain,

"Hoo...I got tired just from this much, I will have to do training after I go back"

In the end, Duncan was successful in getting the artifact before the protagonist. He didn't expect it to be so easy but this one was not much, he still has one more thing that he needs to get.

'I will do it tomorrow.'

As for checking the status let's do it when he gets that thing tomorrow, I think it will feel better that way.

"Stars are really beautiful"

In the morning, Duncan retook the bus and headed on a new journey.

After a few hours of traveling, he reached his destination, The dark forest.

"It is dark here, even though it's daytime, I have to use a torch to see the way, If not for the fact that, I know the way, I would have got lost already."

After about half an hour of walking, Duncan stopped in front of a huge tree, then started to inspect the boulders around the tree they were all black and there were white spots on them, he walked to the boulder farthest from the middle, this boulder is same as the others.

He walked to the boulder turning it upside down and revealing a large white spot underneath.

He gave a punch to the white spot and surprisingly such a huge boulder broke open easily and inside a magic circle was inscribed in the boulder. Duncan put a few magic stones in it and waited for a few minutes. After a few minutes, behind the huge boulder, the ground started to move on the left side slowly and revealed a staircase.

Duncan started climbing down, and after 15 minutes he reached the bottom where a wooden door was shut tightly. He opened the door and moved inside without hesitation.

Inside was a small room where a single old book was lying on a small table with an unusual glow like stars. Just as Duncan touched the book it turned into light particles and entered his head. A huge amount of memories started to pour into his mind, and after an hour he finally digested all the memories.
