"Mom, please…" Christie had been bugging her mom since she came back home.
"What?" Her pitch was a little higher as her reading was distracted.
"I saw this man and he is such a hottie! Can you help me check him out? Pleaseee…"
"No!" Her answer was short and she was back to her tablet reading the news.
"Please, please, please, this man…" She waved her phone to show the picture that she took earlier. The picture was taken quickly, luckily it was not blurry but she only managed to get his side profile but that side profile, it was enough to captivate the hearts of the women.
Pamela glanced before frowning, "He looked familiar…" before she took the phone from Christie's hand. Carefully looking into the picture, she looked at her daughter, "Do you remember, the CEO of WT Group?"
"Adam?"
"Yes, Adam! Not him?" She asked to make sure.
Shaking her head as an answer she took the phone back from Pamela and swiped another picture, "But mom, thinking back, I think their resemblance is too much. Maybe the obvious difference is, their skin colour. Adam is kind of pale." Christie took a proper look once again, and she confirmed that the most noticeable difference was their skin. Alexander's skin was on natural fair tone and Adam was lighter and kind of pale.
Pamela straightened her position and turned her face looking serious at Christie, "Do you remember when Andrew told me about that bitch being engaged to the son of WT Group chairman?"
Nodded her head as she recalled the day when Andrew told her mom regarding WT Group and she happened to be there listening to everything.
"When I asked, is he Adam? He shook his head right away." She stopped, forming a smile that embarked curiosity in Christie.
"Not him?! All this time, I thought it was him! But they are so close. I thought maybe it was because they are engaged. So, he is not??" Christie was seriously in shock, she even thought of a plan before to seduce Adam, in case it would work and snatched him from Camellia. But Adam's behaviour was totally different, he was the perfect definition of cold. Definitely unlike when he was with Christie. Once, he came to pick Camellia up and a smile never left his lips and he was not the same with others. He appeared indifferent and seemed to have a thick wall that stood before him when he was with someone else.
"No, and at that time, I just remembered that the chairman has two sons. The second one is low profile, he is living quietly and the tabloid rarely catches a news on him. Actually, when I think back, it is not rare-ly? There has been none since ten years ago."
"So this…" She pointed to Alexander's picture and gasped, "This could be him??" Dumbstruck, she stood up from the seat and pace here and there. She was thinking about the time when Alexander asked Camellia to introduce himself and become more speechless. "So that is why??" She was voicing the words that were on your mind unconsciously.
"What?" Pamela looked at her.
"Mom, can't you help me." She was back on her seat beside Pamela.
Pamela's eyes changed, as she was reading her daughter's mind. "Don't tell me…"
"Please…"
"No! I was once asked Andrew to meet him, but you know what I got when I met him?" She didn't want to remember the day he was humiliated by Adam but Christie made her.
"Who?" She was confused, blinking her eyes trying to understand her mom's words.
"Adam! He looked at me up and down like I was some kind of beggar!"
"No! I don't want him. He was too pale. Not my style."
"And do you think you are his style?" Pamela's words were sharp and she was just telling the truth. If she compared her daughter with Camellia's, they were as different as night and day. DNA did play their roles well.
"Mom…!" She pouted, as she continued, "I am not that bad."
"If the older one didn't even spare you a glance, do you think the second one will?" She was spitting facts once again.
"But who knows, we didn't even try." She held her mother's hand trying to persuade her to help. "Ah! I recalled you said that the chairman asked to break the engagement two years ago right?"
"So what about that?" She frowned.
"Maybe they don't want her anymore and she is shamelessly sticking like glue. Can you try asking Andrew to change that bitch with me?"
"And do you think that is possible??!" She knew the idea was totally absurd. If that was possible, she would be the first one to do it for her.
"Please…just ask him. He loves you so much, who knows he will even swap her daughter with me."
She sighed. Too speechless to speak. She spoiled her so much that she admitted that Christie should have tossed her brain away. She rarely used it after all.
"Mom, please. If I become the daughter in law to WT Group don't you think you could get benefits from that too. We will not lose anything from trying, right?"
Pamela was quiet. She loved the idea of being in law with WT Group so she was thinking on how to make that possible. Racking every smart nerve in her brain, she thought of something. "Let me try, but with my way."
"I love you mom! So tell me your plan please. Will you ask Andrew?" She was excited when she heard her mom was going to help her snatching Alexander from Camellia.
"No. I'm sure he wouldn't agree to that. He loves her daughter, and that will never change." The fact that Andrew loves her daughter more than he loves her was so obvious and asking too much would trigger his anger. Lately, she was always on her toes as Andrew was under a lot of stress because of the company and poke him at the wrong time, probably not a good idea.
"Let's just trick him." Pamela said after she was quiet for a few seconds.
"Andrew?"
"Yes, Andrew."
"What about me?" Andrew's voice that appeared out of nowhere, made the whole living room turn into silence.
Pamela and Christie looked at each other hoping that he had just arrived and hadn't heard their conversation before.
