Aftermath & Arranged Marriage
After putting more effort into speaking the woman coughed up blood. They were all heavily injured. This sight alone would have been enough to anger anyone. The men were killed. The women were beaten and tattered. Most of their bodies were bare. The young ones were in a similar situation. Anybody that saw this sight would clearly have been able to imagine their own people in such a position.
"Young master, these people who did this. They deserve a death befitting their crimes." Fang Qing said angrily.
"Master, these people are really hurt. How could someone do such a thing? It's too terrible." Shandain said, tearing up.
"This is the evil that exists in the world. It is senseless and cruel. Totally and completely. They will pay dearly for this." I responded, struggling to keep my sanity.
After this little chat I continued to each of the carriages carrying covered cages. Each time I looked inside it was another terrible sight. Some of these people were wrapped in the internals of their dead friends and family. I continued to do what I could to help for the time being. Though I didn't have much luck with this matter. After all there was only so much I could do.
At one point I even spat out blood as my monster race cultivation dropped back down to the 7th order. I had used the source energy to heal a large number of people. I still had to continue though. One would say that I have lost big in this matter. However, this remained to be seen. You never know how helpful it can be to have many loyal subordinates.
~~A few hours later~~
"I have done what I can for the time being. Forgive me for not being able to save everyone." I said, with a heavy heart. One that could clearly be seen even if I tried to conceal it.
"Young sir, you don't need our forgiveness. Rather we thank you for rescuing us from those evil bastards. We would like to serve sir from here and into the future. That is… if sir will have us." A woman on her knees spoke almost as if pleading for the young man she saw in front of her to accept. "Please sir, you sacrificed so much to save us. Allow us to pay you back. Besides this my daughter is alive thanks to you. I don't know how else to thank you for saving her." The woman cried.
"I can take you in. However, I must warn you it will take me some time to recover my strength. I hope you won't act rashly during this time. As with my strength as it is now… I can at most defend you from one maybe two Origin Returning Realms. Are you still willing?" I said, as I raised my hand and slowly closed and opened it, making it look like I was currently testing the level of my strength. It had fallen quite a bit after saving all of their lives.
There had been many kids that were saved. Mostly due to their mothers wishing for their child to be saved first. These adults were able to see and understand the method that I had used. Thus they knew about the drawbacks. Knowing these drawbacks they decided to think about their young first. These children ranged from really young to around my own age. Though they were all put in an area to sleep soundly and comfortably. One of these girls woke up.
The girl stretched and rubbed her eyes. She could see that there were some adults kneeling before a young man who seemed to be about her age. She could tell he had a powerful aura about him. "This must be the one who saved us. I'm going to go thank him." She giggled.
I had just finished speaking when a monster race girl came running up and jumped. She wrapped her arms and legs around me and started to nuzzle. Her tails fluttered about in the air behind her. And her fox ears flipping around happily. She was a tailed fox monster race. When they reach adult-hood they can grow up to 9 tails that each have quite a large array of different powers. Children my age only had at most 4. However, there was one exception. If the individual found someone they loved, a 5th tail would grow.
"Oh, congratulations your daughter has five tails now. This is a good moment. Such a pretty girl has found a great man." Another monster race woman said looking over at the mother of this girl that was clinging on to me.
The mother was clearly excited. For humans we can hide it but for a monster race with emotional tail wagging… this was impossible. All 9 tails of the monster race were wagging creating a sizable gust of wind. It seemed she was waiting for something to happen.
"Achem… I'll speak for everyone now since it seems the eldest one here is a bit unfocused. We accept the Young masters' terms and will serve you from this day forward." Another monster race said, after clearing their throat.
"Good, I'll take you all somewhere where you can rest and recover. Though can I ask what I'm supposed to do here? I haven't dealt with a situation like this before." I said, scratching my cheek that wasn't being nuzzled.
"If you nuzzle back it means you'll accept her feelings, and become… I think it is what humans call engaged?" The woman next to the super excited mother said, bearing the brunt of the wind. As it grew stronger after she had spoken.
"I can not do this. I still have not greeted all of my fathers wives, my mothers. So it is impossible to accept a wife right now." I said, then a hand was placed on my head. A very familiar one and it was more than strong enough to force my head to nuzzle.
"What are you doing son? Didn't you just say that you had to greet your mothers first? Ahahaha, you shouldn't worry too much about these things. You've met two of them." Yang Kai said, having appeared out of absolutely nowhere.
"My future son-in-law is filial indeed. I know you will treat my little girl well!" The mother said standing up excited after seeing I had 'accepted' this arrangement.
"Father, this… Alright then, since you've done this then father won't mind helping this son take everyone back to the tree?" I said, now being completely smothered by this tailed fox monster race female in heat.
