Change

I knew this would happen. It was stated in the story that there were multiple attacks, but I was never sure of when the next would be. To be honest, I've kind of been going with the flow, but one thing has become apparent to me. The traveler is going to come eventually, and when he comes, change will occur. I'll admit it, I've grown fond of the life I have here, thr reliable monotony of hard work and rest. But I know that eventually that the story will move forward, and I will have to move forward too. I'm a wanderer after all, aren't I? Although I don't plan on directly revealing my powers, I will help. I couldn't help but think about what could have happened if I didn't help that day. It was stated in the game that nobody was seriously hurt, but that was a game back in my previous world. Here, people could get hurt and die just like anyone from my home world. After the traveler is done with mondestat, I intend to go to liyue. Even though I've fallen into a comfortable monotony, I know it won't last forever. It's better for me to move away from it than have the rug swept from under my feet. I step onto my feet as I hear the howling winds outside. These past few weeks, I've realized how horrendous I truly was at hand to hand. I've spent 2 weeks ironing out the large issues, and although it isn't perfect, I've begun to piece together a style that fits with my tesseract. I call it impossible energy, due to its impossible nature. I coat my forearms and legs with it, and fire tesseracts as projectiles if needed. I've also found a way to compress gravity at a certain point. It's possible for me to enhance the weight of my hands and legs, making my strikes heavier, and enhancing my defensive capabilities even more. I even have a experimental ace in the hole, that I've named [Double Time]

I create an extra tesseract and use it in conjunction with the first to temporarily increase gravity even more. Even though I'm pretty confident in my tools now, I doubt I can take on dvalin alone. I step outside, resolved to prevent anyone from getting hurt. I see the green dragon in the sky, and tornados run rampant. I shoot a tesseract, and it hits, but instead of running away, it locks it slitted eyes onto me. It's grown brave, and attempt to face whatever is threatening it. I can't aim for the eyes, if I do, there's a chance it might rampage and cause collateral damage. I also can't capture it, or else the story will change substantially. Instead, I choose to hurt it, and aim for the crystals on its back. Although I don't break them, I aim to hit them with enough force to deter another attack for a while. I concentrate impossible energy into my legs, and leap while forming a tesseract in my hands. I increase the gravity to the maximum, and cause dvalin to be unable to gain height. I wind back my fist mid air, and punch the crystal. 3 tornados instantly form around me, intent on tearing me to pieces. But instead of dread, a burning feeling kindled within me. It continued to grow, as I was in the face of certain death. I felt alive, like everything I'd experienced before was a lie.

"DOUBLE TIME"

I form an extra tesseract, and focus all my energy into moving myself midair. I fly back at a speed unprecedented, and crash into a building.

"Shit, guess I'll have to adjust the speed. This is good. This is what I needed. This is what was missing, the feeling of adrenaline flowing through my veins, the pain in my fists, and the sharpness of the air as you breathe. THIS IS LIFE, AND IM LIVING IT RIGHT NOW!"

I shoot 3 tesseract bullets, each at dvalins face. I ready 3 more, ready to continue the fight. I wait in anticipation, and in that moment!

Dvalin turns around, and flies away.

"Damn. This was my goal, but I'm not satisfied. HEAR ME DVALIN, ILL BE THE ONE TO DEFEAT YOU, WAIT FOR ME!"

I promptly black out after saying these words, the exhaustion of double time finally taking its course.

I wake up, in a bed. Groggy, I take a moment to recollect my thoughts and then promptly panic. 'This isn't my bed.' As I begin to sit up, a tanned man with blue eyes and hair enters the room. 'I'm about to get interrogate by Kaeya, aren't i?'

"Well, look who's finally awake, the man of the hour, the hero of mondestat! It's nice to meet you, the names Kaeya, mind telling me yours?"

'Damn, if I hadn't known he's the crafty type, I mightve fallen for his trap. I have 2 options to be honest. Cooperate, or make his life hard. Since he wants to act all buddy buddy, I'll choose the latter.

"I refuse to tell you anything, and request a lawyer."

"OH? You seem to be under the impression that you're currently being detained. You can walk out and leave right now, but it'd be easier for both of us if you would just answer the damn question."

I saw his fake smile quiver, Must have pissed him off. What are the chances I actually walk out of here? Probably none. I'd look suspicious either way, might as well deal with this now rather than later.

"Ok, if you say so, then I'm willing to cooperate. My name is Jacques."

'Even if I want to cooperate, I'm not just going to give him my real name. A Fontanian name also helps justify why I requested a lawyer. Fontaine is the land of justice after all.'

"I see, it's nice to meet you Jacques. Would you mind following me? Someone we just need to talk to someone to clear this situation up, and then you may go."

'He's probably taking me to Jean's office. I'm probably gonna be asked how I did those things, and I have a good alibi too! I can Claim that I'm an electro vision user, and that I must've dropped my vision while fending off dvalin. It's not 100% full proof, I still don't know if vision users can detect other vision users, but it's the easier way out.

I am lead out of the room. And am standing face with the dandelion knight herself, Jean Gunhidlrl.
