Ch 26 - Missions

Hello everyone, let's give a huge shout-out to our new adventurers 'justin avalos & Michele Mucciolo' who join us on this journey!

***********************************

This unit didn't lie in the direct jurisdiction of the empire. They only reported to his majesty but that didn't mean the Royal Family could command them to do anything.

And they would usually only make a move in the case when the kingdom was on the verge of destruction...

Aside from that, this group of seven people had another identity. They were a group of assassins, popular with the epithet 'Paradise Strange'.

In the entire Boundless Mainland's assassination world, their Paradise Strange was ranked the 7th of all the assassin organizations.

"So, boss do we have a new mission?" Luo Ke Di asked Hua Feng.

Hearing the word 'mission', everyone immediately looked at Hua Feng a little excitedly.

Hua Feng smiled and raised his hand. "Now, now, let's first finish our breakfast before discussing the missions."

Everyone didn't ask anything further and silently enjoyed their food.

After ten minutes when everyone was finished, Hua Feng shared the contents of their missions.

They had two missions at the moment.

First – They had to hunt down Fiery Infernal Apes for their organs and other materials. The Fiery Infernal Apes were one of the rare species of apes because of their unique combination of two opposite elements; Ice and Fire. They mostly resided in the outer part of the Wan Shou Empire.

Second – It was a rather simple job of assassinating a merchant. The merchant specializes in human trafficking and was protected by a group of Jewel Masters at the Low Zong Stage.

They had no idea of the identities of their contractors since it was a piece of common knowledge in their field to not ask anything like that from them.

If their group looked at it carefully, both the jobs were decent in difficulty.

The Fiery Infernal Apes were Zong stage beasts but they were still at a low level compared to other beasts of the Zong stage.

As for the other one, the merchant's job was slightly easier than the first one since they just had to assassinate the merchant but the problem was his bodyguards. He had three jewel masters around him, protecting his safety.

But none of them panicked since it was a pretty normal job for them. They had even successfully finished more difficult jobs than these ones.

Hua Feng contemplated for a little and said. "Alright, Yi Shi and Little Grass will take care of the Merchant while I and others will hunt the Apes in the Wan Shou Empire. We'll leave tomorrow so get ready on time. And also, if you feel you can't finish the mission and your cover is blown, then retreat immediately."

"Yes, Boss!" The six of them shouted in unison.

Everyone was excited to go on a mission and earn some money for themselves.

As a Heavenly Jewel Master, they needed a lot of money to sustain like Skill Storing, Consolidating Equipments, and other stuff. Because of how poor the Heavenly Bow Empire was, they couldn't depend on them for these things and had to earn money on their own.

So, they relied on their own skills and formed an assassin organization to earn that money...

The next day, everyone gathered at the entrance on time where a horse carriage was waiting for them.

They were not traveling by foot, and as they headed out since they would need to conserve their energy for the missions. Hua Feng had brought out his personal luxurious and grand-looking horse carriage which was now parked outside.

The carriage was more than twice the size of an ordinary horse carriage and was adorned with gilded gold and jade on the outside, with lavish decorations, seemingly a little vulgar, and it was harnessed to 4 large horses.

Within the horse carriage, the four walls were lined with an unknown fur rug, and the large spacious seats were almost like sofas, sitting in them felt so soft yet sturdy, and they were extremely comfortable. Such a horse carriage could even seat at least a dozen people easily and in comfort.

Furthermore, there was a hidden compartment under the carriage, storing a large amount of all sorts of food, drinks, and arrows.

The horse carriage had a specialized carriage driver, who seemed to be around 40 years of age with an honest look. Every four hours of travel, they would stop for a while to rest their horses and only travel 14-16 hours a day.

But since the carriage was the personal property of Hua Feng, he charged a fee from his colleagues to give them a ride.

One-fifth of everyone's cut was charged by him since he needed it to feed the horse and make repairments to the carriage in case of any needs...

Since the direction of Yi Shi and Shui Cao's target was in the opposite direction, they didn't board the carriage and traveled by foot.

In just seven days, by sitting in this luxurious horse carriage, they had reached the borders of the Heavenly Bow Empire and Fei Li Empire, showcasing the speed of that carriage. And twenty-five days later, they had entered the Wan Shou Empire, staring at the snow-covered mountains and forest.

Nobody said anything and silently followed Hua Feng.

Hua Feng walked to the side of the horse carriage and pressed something at the side.

Suddenly, two hidden drawers popped out of the two sides with a metallic grinding sound, and it was filled with various things.

As the members of the Heavenly Bow Unit quickly changed and geared up, soon all of them were outfitted with an additional maroon leather armor. The leather armor did not just protect their upper body, it also covered the joint areas and some critical weak points, including a helmet. At the same time, each of them carried two bows, with a large quiver on the back. For Hua Feng, Luo Ke Di, and Mu En, their quivers held about 200 arrows, but for Han Mo and Gao Shen, they carried around 500 arrows.

As soon as they had finished equipping themselves, the lazy-looking bunch of the Heavenly Bow Unit turned business-like, with a cold aura emitting from them.

Luo Ke Di vanished into thin air when they entered the forest, went ahead to scout the area, and searched for their targets. He was the best among them for that job.
