10 Years of work...

(Protag. P.O.V.)

I sigh as I drop a basket full of tangerines onto the table. Man it has been ten years since I have come here, then my mind was filled with ideas for war and murder but now my head is brimming with pride, after all, how could I not be proud that I have a family, a mother, two sisters, and the whole of Cocoyashi village.

"Vanko! Ready the table I'm making your favorite!"

Ah yes, I have also gotten myself a name, Vanko... No meaning but still a name nonetheless.

I take four plates and four sets of knives and forks. Nami is coming back from an expedition, and from what I can understand from her letters is that she has made some friends. A... certain straw hat bearing fellow you would recognize.

Soon I smile as the scent of Mom's spaghetti fills the house as the creaking sound of a door opening, I see Nojiko laughing while holding Nami in a one-armed hug.

"Vanko would you believe it! Nami has grown some backbone and gotten into a pirate group!" Nojiko exclaims while slapping Nami's back.

"What!? Nami you better not be getting in too much trouble!" Mom yelled out as she was placing some spaghetti on each of our plates.

Though they argued and laughed I took a seat at the table and smiled. It did not matter whether I was an eight-legged, humanoid monster made of ink, to them I was still family. I was still Vanko, not a monster but Vanko, a son, and brother to this family.

"So are we going to eat or is this meal going straight to the compost bin?" I spoke to them.

But the second I could blink they were already at the table eating this spaghetti.

(Nami P.O.V.)

Ever since I could draw maps many things have happened to me, Arlong, Vanko, and now these idiots. My childhood was not too great especially when arlong attacked but Vanko saved the day that well, day. But besides that, this little sludge octopus was great as a friend and he even saved Mom who then proceeded to adopt him, maybe a bit underwhelming of a reward but he helped us a lot. He even made the fishmen peaceful to us which was surprising as they put effort and considered us equals.

Though now I'm stuck with these four idiots (Luffy, Ussop, Zoro, Sanji) I wanted to ask him and Nojiko to join as I wouldn't be able to see them in a long time so might as well. So right after we finished eating and sat down for some coffee. I asked Vanko first.

" Umm, Vanko?"

"Yes, Nami?"

"The next time I leave the village I will be a fully-fledged pirate and I won't return for a while"

"So you want me to join?" He said while stirring his coffee.

"Yes, how did you- oh wait I nearly forgot you were my brother for the past what? ten years?" Oh god I nearly forgot he can basically read my mind

" Sure why not but I'm not going to be fighting too much okay?"

"Okay and what about you Nojiko?"

Nojiko smiled and said.

"No not really, though I would love to be with you guys I want to stay here you know," She said

Vanko and I nodded. She has always been like this, rooted in one place.

(Back to MC P.O.V.)

In all honesty, I really want to go with these guys as they are really cool, Sanji and Zoro are lifetime entertainment for me and Luffy is pretty chill, Ussop is a little annoying maybe with him lying constantly lying

Now for the ten years, I have been staying here I haven't trained all that much as, well, Family. Though what I have trained is Life return and dear lord is it strong, it allows me to have fluid-like movement and also constantly train my muscles even when I am not training. Side effects though cant even happen with my body being literal ink and me having multiple tentacles that allow for everything a leg and an arm can do at once. But either way, I still have myself a pair of arms for using things that require fingers i.e. buttons, putting on clothes(Don't really do), and flushing the toilet( tentacle is too slippery to push the handle down).

Now as we walk to the ship Luffy asks me a few things.

"How do you poop?"

"Like regular people I guess?"As I said that Nami smacked Luffy's head with a fist

Seeing the little ones scuffle like this was pretty funny, let alone hilarious. Man, I was lucky to join the crew when no one was too serious.

"Hey, Luffy?..."

"Yeah Vanko?"

"What is your dream?" Suddenly as I said that Luffy smiled, I knew what this meant.

"To become pirate king!"

Damn looking at this scene I already feel myself getting inspired.

"Well mister pirate king, the pirate needs a crewmate who won't die easily"

" Right!" Luffy yelled as he grinned wide.

(3rd P.O.V.)

As they loaded up the ship, across the world, all those who would oppose the straw hats would feel an impending sense of doom while the ones who would progress the straw hats and help them would feel a sense of pride and foreboding.

The whole of the grand line would be shaken by these few people here, by the ones that were cast away the world would be shaped from a cracking vase of order and belief into a glass sculpture more beautiful than anything that has ever been created
