19 Meeting the Family's Part 2

A look passed over Alex's face but she pushed it down before anyone saw other than me I hoped. I asked Angela (a pretty red-headed woman that was around 26 and was a manager of the security firm I'd bought she was functioning as security head until the 99 arrived directly under neath Pimento) to take them to their houses. Alex glares at Angela as they walk away to the golf cart.

"It's fine Alex we'll call and convince her to come, If not we could call and maybe get her fired or something so she comes up here," I tell Alex.

"She loves her job," She says as she pushes me slightly with a pout.

"Soon it won't matter much," I say a little darkly. She looks away and nods.

"She gave you that look again," Alex says nodding to Angela as the carts drove off. Alex had been at the first meeting between me and Angela and after she insisted that Angela wanted me but I didn't pick up on anything. Though she was very attractive I'd never cheat on Alex so it was a moot point though Alex's jealousy had sparked a lot of fun in the last month since that meeting. Though it made her a bit angry I could tell she was a bit worried about the extreme amount of women in the Facility which was completely an accident I hadn't even done most of the recruiting myself I knew that the plan was to have just under 500 people at this point on the property only about a hundred on them were men 300 women and the rest were kids and teens. Most of the men would be here with families like the ones on Alex's research team except for Arvin. I wrap my arms around Alex. Deep down I was worried a little at her jealously thinking about what the hat said and how i needed to find the other soul fragments before she lost her mind.

"well, how about you give me your look and we see where things go," I say getting a slight chuckle from her.

"what if we can't convince her to come," She asks tearfully changing gears ridiculously quickly. I know she is talking about her sister but what can I do if she chooses not to come here there isn't much I can do. If I try to forcefully take her by magical means someone will probably figure out that I knew the virus was coming.

That may seem awful but what could be the alternative to letting Alex's sister die? She hugged me even tighter at my words but I knew she saw the reasoning behind it. I regretted telling Alex for the moment sure it had gotten to join my protection but if any of her family dies she might come to resent me. I push it out of my mind. I give Alex a small comforting squeeze.

"Hey boss" PImento yells out as he is driving up towards me in his golf cart way too fast he must have done something to it it isn't supposed to go that fast. He overshoots me by like ten feet and steps out before it even stops. I sigh maybe it wasn't a good idea for Pimento to be my head of security but I still held out hope for after the apocalypse."I have a bit of bad news I also wanted to ask why you made me give those kids the hard sell"

"First I don't know if you've met Jessica our new principal. But they're her friends and this site is supposed to be secret while it's true the only secrets that stay silent are the ones that stay with the dead money has a way of turning a spoken-out cry into small whispers in the night." I said talking bullshit I had found one of the ways to make pimento calm is when you said something mysterious sounding he'd get all introspective. "there is just news, No good or bad"

I Straight up stole that from Master Oogway it had him in deep thought for a moment. IT made me chuckle a bit. I watch Alex walk toward the main building.

"the rest of the 99 flight has been moved back and they won't get here until tonight I guess there was a slight emergency though Amy and Jake are enjoying their honeymoon according to the yacht crew Holt has been getting slightly better since his quote fluffy boy got here," He tells me.

"How soon until they are finished up with the solar panels?" I ask as they were the last of the projects on the facility grounds.

"They should be done By tonight though I think he's trying to stretch it john the lead guy has been flirting a lot with Bianca from the yacht crew." He tells me. I sigh at that. he and his crew of 6 were going to be maintenance techs on my property they were thoroughly vetted so I knew they would be an indispensable asset when the apocalypse hit.

"Is it mutual?" I ask. He nods." tell him to finish it up soon and I'll give him the vacant cabin near hers.

"so did they take your hard sell," I ask Pimento. He shrugs.

"The Nick guy is in love with our miss day. Winston looks like he's a bit lost and sees this as a great opportunity but Cece and schmidt are wild cards I think they are trying to convince the others to stay but I think they will stay for the weekend celebrations.

I nod and walk off the time is moving up quicker and quicker I walk into the main building and head down to my office. I start doing some last-minute prepping some ward stone crafting and start carving into the unique ward stones small enchantments to alter the wards. One would be like a small muggle-repelling charm that worked a little differently if I key in a name the person will be able to find their way back but if they are just a stranger looking we might as well be the mythical city of gold that mixed with the cloaking enchantment we would be mostly safe from outside interfearmentlightly taxing on the mana circuit I'd still make a small mana gain on the mana chain though it would take longer to grow my mana pool.

Alex came down for a bit and I decided to take a break with her. In the end she started acting weird but I think it's because she had heard the report from overseas the first report of an attack of a man trying to bite people It was officially starting. So I did the only sensible thing. I decided to throw a party on the water as soon as the 99 got there we put all the yachts side by side so you could walk to each plat from bed from the back of the yacht one was a viewing room for a football game another had live music from our resident entertainment director Janice. The other was mostly for socializing and drinking only a little over half came to the celebration though. I spent the night watching the 99 and the modern family interact.

Holt and Kevin met Mitch and Cameron's interaction was the funniest. It was like watching a train wreck ugly and brutal and nearly immediately as they separated they started talking crap about each other.

" Hello I'm Captain Holt This is my spouse Kevin." Holt introduces himself. Kevin shakes their hands.

"It's good to see you here I thought we were the only ones here," Cameron says. he does a whole song a dance of emotions like he's been dying of thirst and they are the water needed to survive.

"The only what?" Kevin asks though it's clear that Cameron meant they he was happy being they weren't the only gay couple. Kevin and holt not ashamed by their sexuality but didn't want it to be thing that defined them. That brought on an awkward silence that neither could pull themselves out of because it's different to outright say you want to be friends with someone based on sexuality than to heavily imply it I guess.

Their rivalry resulted in a bunch of small 2 person games Claire and Phil, Jay and Gloria, Alex and me, Manny and luke, etc. That turned into a drinking contest by the end. everyone ended up not even making it to their cabins by the end of the night. I wasn't looking forward to the next day there was barely enough time for the 99 to teach the security team anything. Two weeks from now the world will be be gone to complete shit.
