35 Chapter 35

After taking the pills, Di Xueyan immediately put up the Hundred Light Barrier, surrounding the people in the palace, except the emperor.

Immediately, the people in verge of bursting are immediately relieved, but unluckily collapsed on the spot due to multiple organ injuries. Those who where able to eat the pill looks invigorated, as if nothing happened to them at all. They can't help but to look at Di Xueyan at awe and respect, which earned a bitter smile from her.

" Don't look at me like that, I have no pills anymore", she said bitterly as if she swallowed a liter of vinegar. Those who knew her too well just laughed silently while shaking their heads, knowing that she is just being childish, while those lucky people who were able to eat the pill felt guilt and gratitude in their hearts.

Those in the opposing sides look at her with tears in their grateful eyes. Never would they imagine that she will save them despite what they did a while ago. Though they were very envious with those great pills, they still are lucky enough to hitch in the barrier.

Ofcourse, Di Xueyan was not really magnanimous. If she just had a choice, she would rather see them bursting one after another, wouldn't it be entertaining to exprerience the fun of seeing human bubbles?

Of course, she only thinks that way because she is completely irritated, but deep inside, she strongly disagrees about the cruelty of the world she is currently in. Inside her subconscious thoughts, a sentence is ingraved saying 'if the casualties can be minimized, minimize it'.

If she can, she wants to protect the whole kingdom with a barrier but she knows that she is not powerful enough. Her hands unconsciously balled into a tight fist with a bitter smile in her face, she knows that she has to be extremely powerful! This fueled her determination more.

She observes that the pulsating wave came from the palace court, just in the east side of the emperor's chamber.

She squinted her eyes and was about to go at the court room when the pulsating suddenly stops.

Only now she realizes the clumps of bloods in the floor, moving towards the direction of the court room. She slightly turns pale as she realized that those bloods are from the innocent citizens of the kingdom, base in their light crimson color. Cultivators blood are more thicker and darker in color, while the ordinary people are lighter. Of course, how can they survive if even the cultivators are almost bursting? Faint anger flashed in her eyes before plain coldness replaced it.

" Behold the awakening of the real emperor of the dark beasts! My most powerful beast!", the emperor crazily laugh in her side.

" Can you please shut up?", Di Xueyan said in annoyance, but the poor man seems to be losing his sanity anymore.

" Now, I'm the most powerful man in the whole continent! I'm more powerful than those central region jerks! Haha", he continued his mad laugh as if he doesn't care about anything but power anymore.

Since the pulsating wave has long stopped, the surrounding already regains its calmness, making his words echo in the hearts of everyone around him.

Those who had grudge with him feel fear eating their hearts. Just by that pulsating sound alone, they were nearly exterminated, what more if the beast will be unleashed?

Those who are in good terms with the emperor are already glad in their hearts. They are even thinking about a thousand ways of bootlicking. ' How dare those bastards reduced them into this shameful state?!', those old foggies thought.

People are just like that, they can never see the goodness of something but instead focus on the negatives, which is understandably irritating.

" You already look too triumphant. Are you sure that that kind of powerful animal was already subdued by you?", Jin Linkai sarcastically retort, while a smirk hung in his lips. He believes in Di Xueyan too much that now, his heart is already too calm, as if without ripples. So, he decided to just anger the madman in front of him.

" Ahaha, how can zhen not subdue the beast if zhen used your mother's pure blood?!", the emperor mockingly replied, since his scheme is already revealed why not just torture his beloved nephew with the truth?

Jin Linkai's world seems to stop with that remark. He can't seem to feel his surrounding anymore. He feels very cold as if he is splashed with a gigantic bucket of iced cold water. His smirking face turns blank, as a tear escape his eyes with the thought of how his mother brutaly died.

' My poor mother!? '

" Rebellion? What is that? Of course that was just a ridiculously bullshit excuse haha! Dear nephew, you should be grateful, if not for zhen you will not be born in this world!", the emperor's revelation arouse the anger of general Bai again.

" Bastard! How dare you! Just how dare you moron! ", general Bai is about to rush to tear the emperor's smirking face in anger when he feels a force repulsing him. Only then he realized that he is inside the barrier, so he attacked the barrier as a futile attempt.

Jin Linkai's whole being is shaking in anger. He just can't believe the viciousness of the man in front of him!

" Do you think you will be born without zhen? Of course not, if zhen did not consent your parents' marriage, you will not be here! Luckily, zhen needs a family where treason is very likely so that your mother will have a reasonable death, thus your orphan father is the very best choice, eh? ", the emperor enunciated his words clearly, as if afraid that his nephew will not understand.

Jin Linkai's paternal grandparents died in his father's teens, thus his father had to shoulder the family clan much earlier. Though his father still had many connections and shouldered the family succesfully, he still has to fend of too many schemes within and outside his clan by himself, making him more intelligent but without proper time to deal with them all. Thus, he got entangled with the emperor's scheme.

Jin Linkai's parents purely loved each other, but the circumstances in which they first met, is not a coincidence just like what they always thought, but instead a scheme of the emperor himself.

Of course, he tried to kill his sister with different means, like spoiling her in front of his consorts, earning their ire. But the bitch just can't die, so he has to do his initial plan.

" Is it zhen's fault if your mother has the purest dark blood in the whole royal family? Thus, making her the most suitable sacrificial lamb for the dark ancient beast in our family's possession?", the emperor laugh in humor, as if he is just talking about some petty jokes.

" Jerk! You still know the word family now!? ", Jin Linkai shouted his grievances out, blue veins are already popping in his forehead due to the force he exerted in attempt to stop himself from rashly rushing to kill the man. He knows that he is not his match.

The people who heard the emperor can't help but to gasp audibly. They can't believe that after all this time, the royal family still has a dark thing in their possession!

It is an open secret among nobles that the royal family has a distant dark blood due to their past empress, who was found out to be from the dark realm, tens of thousand years ago.

The past emperor was so in love with her to the point that he never had a concubine or another lover. So, when it was found out that the empress is a dark art practitioner, the emperor personally beg for his beloved's life in front of the whole kingdom, saying that he will be responsible if something will happen. He also asked his empress to turn over all the dark artifacts that she has for her safety. Though the empress can just squish those who are against her, but due to her love for the emperor, she fought together with him fairly. She surrendered all she can surrender and ruled the kingdom with the emperor in peace. She also made an ancient barrier that will protect the kingdom in times of war, which can only be activated by her descendant with the purest blood.

They all thought that the crown prince has the purest of blood, but only the emperor knew that his son's blood is nothing compare to his sister's.

Their story has been the greatest love story in the kingdom, but who would have thought that the empress was cunning enough to hide a dark beast inside the palace?!

The ministers and ancestors are indignant. Though they know that they didn't have the rights to, as their life is in the hands of the emperor, they still felt extremely deceived.

" Since your mother is a part of the royal family, it is only right for her to sacrifice herself! Even if you will meet her right now, she should not have any complaints as she only served her purpose!", the emperor hatefully laugh, earning the complete ire of the past soldiers of general Jin, as they respected their madam so much because of her kindness and impartiality.

Even Di Xueyan, is lightly shaking with rage. She only read this kind of situations in novels and it always never failed to made her had an urge to throw her phone away. Now that she is seeing this herself, she can't help but feel the rise of bloodlust within her system.
