Chapter - 19

Nate went to look for the escaped wolf while Luna went to the pack house and waited for his return. 

The old alpha was running continuously for his life. 

Old alpha " What have I done wrong I have just followed how other alpha has ruled the pack. But look at me now I'm running for my dear life. " 

While running and talking to himself he remembered what Erick ( his former beta ) told him. 

Erick came to visit the former alpha where he was caged and looked at him full of nervousness and pity in his eyes. 

Old alpha " Erick you came? " he asked while smiling a little. 

Erick " The new alpha was planning on killing you," he said with tears in his eyes. 

Old alpha " What but I haven't done anything wrong then why would he plan to kill me "

Erick " Because he is afraid that you'll again take over his place and become alpha of our pack " 

Old alpha " Erick don't you know that is not possible even if I want now I can't take over his place he is the true alpha which means he is ten times stronger than us "  

Erick " I think his human Luna is making him do that, he has changed a lot after he found his mate you were prisoned here that is the reason for your unawareness " 

Old alpha " Still I don't think that would be the case Erick may be you have heard something wrong " 

Erick " Then the rest is up to you, I over heard their conversion about killing you and out of concern and as the beta you have served you loyally I came to give the warning and asking you to be careful " 

Old alpha " It's not that I don't believe you but still I'll try to be careful " 

Erick " Then I'll take my leave alpha " 

Erick left the place soon it starts to get darker and when the time is about to reach midnight there was some abnormal activities around the place were the former alpha was locked up. 

Erick wanted to turn everyone against Nate so he set some people up and decided to attack their former alpha to make look like Nate has done that. As Erick instructed the persons started to attack the alpha soon Erick came with two pack members and fought with them. After fighting a little Erick opened the door were former alpha was prisoned 

Erick " Soon I'll come to find you alpha now just leave from here and save your life " 

Former alpha opened his mouth to say something but Erick interrupted him by saying "Run , Run for your life ". That words were strong enough for the former alpha to believe Erick's words and he started to run away from there. 

After he has left from there sight each persons help others and everyone started to smile evilly looking at Erick, while Erick was standing there smirking. 

Erick " The game has begin, you guys can leave now I'll take care of the rest " 

Everyone left from there Erick started to walk towards the guard and started shouting 

Erick " Where is the former alpha, what are you guys doing without watching him properly " 

The guards were confused by his words and went to the place where former alpha has been locked up, when they went there guards were surprised that the former alpha is gone. They started to panic thinking what they would tell Nate. 

The guards were searching for the escaped man, Aariv who was crossing the path casually met with the guards. From the guards he  got the information and rushed to inform Nate about that. 

Catching his breath escaped alpha stopped his track getting tired from running he looked around for any traces of wolf. Little far away from where he was standing there was some movement he slowly started to walk towards that direction hoping for some help. 

While he reached closer to that spot he heard a familiar voice, he was thinking for couple of minutes whose voice is that soon he figured out it is the voice of Erick. 

Old alpha " Erick, is that you? " he asked still little confused with a hesitant voice. 

Erick " Yes, it's me come over here alpha " 

The escaped alpha felt more happy and relieved at a same time he went where Erick was standing. There were many men standing near to Erick. 

Old alpha " Erick who are they? " he asked while looking at Erick's face for answer. 

Erick " They are my friends, this people will help you to survive trust them. " 

Old alpha " But aren't those who standing next to you are all human? " he raised his brows and his inner wolf was screaming sensing some danger around them. 

Erick " Of course they are, but just trust me alpha like you used to do I'm sure you'll be fine "  

Old alpha " From where do you get humans friends on the first Erick " as he was asking he felt some stinging sense in his neck within seconds he collapsed on the floor. 

Erick saw the unconscious man lying on the floor and gave some signal to the others they just nod there head and transferred escaped alpha to a secret place.

Erick hid the escaped man outside there pack, Nate and others were searching for him constantly but they were revolving around their own pack believing that he would not go out of the pack because of the humans. 

The searching has continued till morning Nate got extremely anger and everyone was gathered around the pack house. Luna was standing there trying to understand what is happening by the expression of the wolves as the sun has came up everyone has transferred into their wolf forms. 

While she was observing a brown wolf came howling it is none other than Erick. After a while every wolf started to howl and running at their full speed in a particular direction. Luna tried to catch up with them but she failed. So she went to the cave and waited for Nate. 

The running wolves reached a particular place and saw a wolf lying there unconscious. Nate went near him and tried to wake him up, he looked at others sadly

Nate " Our former alpha has left us " he declared the death of their escaped alpha.
