"Charges!"
I shout, and my unit follows Boz and Dinn from behind. The enemy is a cavalry unit. They will have a hard time fighting us in this dense forest.
"Formation!"
I quickly shout when I see the cavalry charge at us. Heh. They think they can attack us just because we are not famous, huh? I already teach my unit some formation, and they know what to do.
Some people quickly stab their spear into the ground before them and hold it to pierce the horse. The second and third line put their spear above the one in the front, and the fourth line pointed their spears into the air.
This is called the Pike Square formation, but instead of pike, we use spears.
With how tightly our formation is, we manage to hold the ground against the cavalry charges and skewer a lot of horses. I point my sword at the enemy and release a lightning needle above me before firing at the enemy.
Thirty lightning needles hit their vital organs, like their heart. When it hits their targets, the needles create a small explosion that spreads lightning current inside their body. One by one, the cavalry unit fell from their horses.
Even when they are not dead from the attack, they are paralyzed from it. My men move forward and finish the job when the lightning attack paralyzes them.
"Move forward!"
We slowly move forward with our weapons in hand. I can see the enemy hesitate to attack us, but the group's general is screaming about destroying us, so another cavalry comes at us again. My men return to Pike Square formation and await the attack.
I take a deep breath and create a thin layer of water on the ground in front of us. I made sure to spread it wide and thin so the others did not notice it. When the cavalry gets near, I change that water into thin ice.
And it works wonders. The horse falls to the ground from the slippery ground, and my unit easily kills the one that manages to get near us. I change the ice into water again so my unit can kill the one trying to get up from the ground.
It is a massacre. If the other unit needs to fight its way out, my unit keeps advancing. We are not the fastest to reach the enemy's camp, but we are the ones with a consistent speed.
"Another cavalry! They will not learn, huh?!"
Gavaya shouts with a huge smile on his face as he kneels once again with a spear in his hand. Just like before, I make sure to move the water unnoticed by the enemy's cavalry and spread it wide and thin.
Just like before, when I change the water into ice, the horses fall to the ground and leave their rider vulnerable to our spear. We move as one and kill the rider, who falls to the ground. I hear Hazuki sigh in disappointment.
"Is this what happened to the army of my country? Disappointing."
It looks like, instead of angry at us fighting her countrymen, she is disappointed at their lack of thinking in attacking. They fall into our formation three times, and they fall under the same trick twice.
We continue to march, and this time, I can see three units of infantry coming at us. They are learning. We continue to use our tight formation to fool them into thinking we are still using the same strategy, but when we get closer, I shout.
"Loose formation! Go all out! Follow me!"
"Finally!"
Gavaya grins and throws away his spear. He takes out his double ax from his back and charges alongside me. My companion and I lead the charges with our weapon in hand. When we are getting closer, I activate my rune. I used my new spell after leveling up my [Thunder Rune].
"[Bolt of Wrath]"
Lightning starts to appear around my sword, ready to be unleashed. When we are getting closer, I run even faster and leave my companion behind. I jump above the enemy spear formation and swing at the first soldier before me.
When it touches the enemy, an explosion of lightning appears and creates an opening in the enemy formation.
"Rally to the captain! Hit at the opening!"
Hazuki quickly orders the other to run toward the opening that I made. Just like the battle maniac he is, Gavaya is the first one to appear next to me. The third one is Nikee, then Hazuki.
"Hazuki, Gavaya! Take care of the left one! Nikea with me!"
Nikea and I start our dance of death. Because of our constant sparring, Nikea also gets stronger, albeit slower than me, but she is getting stronger nonetheless.
Because of their light armor, they did not have a lot of protection.
When I see the infantry start to retreat, I finally notice that the rest of the New Armes' Army is retreating. I quickly shouted to make sure my men did not give chase.
"Stop! Don't chase after them!"
My unit stops and looks around the battlefield. I can see a few of our men died in battle.
"Search for survivors! Take the injured to the side! I will try and heal them!"
My unit takes the injured to the side and sees there are twenty-five of them. I asked them to make three groups, ten for the two groups and five people in the third group. I walk to the first group, take a deep breath, and activate my [Flowing Rune].
"[Kindness Rain]!"
I cast my spell and see the people heal up from my spell. Seeing they are good, I walk toward the second group.
"[Kindness Rain]!"
Because of leveling up my [Flowing Rune] from constant training with Saileeds, I can cast the second [Kindness Rain] and can cast [Kindness Drop] five times before it needs to recharge. I walk toward the last ground and heal them one by one using [Kindness Drop].
After healing my unit, I saw a man standing patiently beside me. I look at him and hear him saying.
"Captain Gerrald, Lady Lucretia is asking for you and your unit to get back. We need to get back to Rainwall and begin the second part of the plan."
Right, the second part of the plan. The plan is to make Lord Barrow the bad guy in this accident.
