8 New Spells and First Quest

After letting out my emotions, I wiped my eyes with one hand. I moved my upper body back enough to stare at Celestine's face. 'She's so beautiful.' I thought to myself, cupping her cheek with my hand.

"J‐John, wh-what...?" Celestine asked, her cheeks turning a little pink when I brought my face closer to hers.

"Without you, I wouldn't have made it on the first day, thank you," I said, before surprising her by kissing her on the lips for a few seconds before I reluctantly pulled back. I stared at her for a few seconds, and then I stood up. As I turned around, I didn't noticing her longing look as she gently touched her lips.

I wanted to stay in her arms, but I needed to know if this guy has anything that could give me clues or something. Not to mention, we have to get away soon, since there's no way to know if we're even in the human territories or if we're in the demon kings.

"Celestine, can you get me some sticks so I can make a fire?"

"Y-yes? A-ah, no problem." She spoke, coming back to her senses. She got up and started picking up wood, though she stared at something only she could see at the same time.

While she did that, I walked towards the corpse and stopped a foot away. I closed my eyes, taking a few deep breaths before I begin. I first put on the Tiara of Treasures to check whether there was anything important hidden in the area.

As I looked around, I didn't see any arua that stood out other than the pockets of the dead body and Celestine. I hesitated, not wanting to go through the dead guy's pockets just yet. He could have set up a magical booby trap as a last fuck you if he was ever robbed or killed.

I don't want to be a second Albus Dumbledore who was cursed when he took the ring. I still find it sus, since he should have been very cautious, but he got careless in the end or something.

I saw a light green aura in the left pocket and a gold aura in the right pocket. I took out a spear, Midnight, from my inventory.

It is about 7 1/2 ft tall with a straight head and double-edged spear with the shaft made out of hardwood and painted purple. I used the pole part to poke into his pants pocket first and when nothing happened I then poked the other side.

I then used the sharp side on the left pocket, slowly cutting it open from the inside out. The only thing that fell out was a greyed-out card which was his adventurer card. In his other pocket was his money, which landed with a clank. I burned the card and moved back from the pouch.

Once I felt far enough, I opened it by using the tip of the spear to cut a hole allowing the money to spill out, but other than that, nothing dangerous happened. I spread the silver and bronze Eris around checking if one is different than the others, but they all had the same aura.

I sighed in relief and I was about to pick up the money when a notification appeared before me.

I paused mid-motion and stared at the screen. I took a deep breath in and held it for 2 seconds before letting it out. I did this a couple of times, getting my emotions in control.

"You can loot the money? Then, what's the point of me doing this?" I said pointing towards the tiara on my head. If I knew about this, I wouldn't have put this thing on. "Why... didn't you do that before?"

[Yes, but the system needed to be at least 5 feet from the loot to collect it. The system can't retrieve the money owned by someone unless the owner loses their money somehow.]

I perked up at that. I couldn't help but ask, "Say, hypothetically, if I make a hole in someone's money pouch and it falls, can you get it?"

[Yes]

"What about if I find myself trapped inside a cave with treasures or a closed cash register? Can you do it?" I asked in a hopeful tone, thinking of Smaug's treasure mountain.

[Yes and no. It depends if there is any anti-theft magic protecting the treasures.]

"Is there anything else that I need to know?"

[...You got mail...]

I was about to ask how when I noticed a blinking envelope on the top left side of my vision. I blinked a few times wondering how'd I missed that. I slowly poked it with my finger and it opened up with a ding. It made me wonder if I would gain XP now or would it be on hold until I gain my adventurer's card?

• Earth wall (Cost 10 Mana)- Builds a 10-foot tall wall of earth

I honestly don't know how to feel right now. I'm happy that I gained the levels, but so much not on how I did it. Though I'm going to do what I do best and ignore it.

I put in 10 points to luck and Charisma, 15 to Strength, Constitution, and Dexterity. After that, I went back to the main menu, and then I went to the Skill page.

Though when I went to the page, what appeared before me wasn't a list, but a literal book that was surprisingly thin. When I opened the first page, there's a table of contents that describes what the Schools are.

Each point I put in allows the magic to either last longer or does more damage depending on what it is. I put 1 each in all the schools and waited as a new screen appeared after that.

▪︎ Necromancy (1/100)- It manipulates the powers of death, unlife, and the life force. [-1% Mana Cost]

▪︎ Eromancy (1/100)- Sex magic and rituals. [-1% Mana Cost and +1% effectiveness]

▪︎ Diviner (1/100)- A person who magically gathers information, often determining the future, using any method available. (Crystal ball or cards, ect.) [-1% Mana Cost]

▪︎ Enchantment/Curses (1/100)- Is a spell that adds certain properties to an object or individual. [-1% Mana cost ]

▪︎ Alchemy (1/100)- is the process of turning one object into another. Able to combine two or more plants to make potions with special effects. [-1% Mana cost and +1% of successful craftsmanship]

▪︎ Artifice (1/100)– It deals almost entirely in the imbuing of magical properties into mundane objects, such as weapons, armor, and jewelry. [-1% Mana cost and +1% of successful craftsmanship]

1. Water Whip- A spell that creates a water whip. (50 MP, 70 Damage)

2. Lightning Hands- A spell that fires lighting from the hand at a target. (20 damage x mana, 5% chance of paralysis)

3. Trap Hole- Makes a hole on the ground. How deep depends on the mana cost. (10 MP= 1 Foot)

4. Light of Reflection- A spell that uses light refraction to turn the user and/or their allies invisible. (90 MP)

5. Light Healing-A spell that heals allies with a soothing warm green light (20 Hp) for (40 MP) per second.

6. Ceremony of Purification- A ceremony that removes curses or contaminants from someone or something. (400MP)

7. Summon bed (10 MP)- Summons a type of bed. More mana used = bigger bed.

8. Anti-Evil Protection- A barrier used to defend against attacks from evil beings in a 4x4 barrier. (125 MP)

9. Reflect- A spell that reflects an opponent's attacks at them. (150MP)

10. Summon Undead- This spell allows the user to summon any zombie-type animal. (40MP)

11. Drain Touch- Drains the energy of whoever or whatever is targeted and converts it to mana or health. (70 MP per second)

12. Touch of pleasure- A spell that gives pleasurable feelings the longer the Caster is touching someone (60 MP)

13. Identify - A spell that determined the features of an unknown magic item. (100 MP)

14. Copy- Creates an identical copy of the person or thing. Will only last for how much mana is put into it. (Ex. 1 min = 10 mana)

15. Alchemic fire- A fire hot enough to burn impurities from plants to be used for potions (20 MP per sec)

16. Random stat - Add a random attribute or stat on an item (100 MP)

My eyes zeroed in on the Ceremony of Purification. I hope that I'm reading this right, then most if not every fallen Angel would be grateful to change their black wings back to white.

If not then hopefully, I'll have someone that could help me create a spell or something like that, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'll try it and hopefully, it'll work on Kalawarna. Though, I do wonder if I need anything else other than the full moon for the ceremony to work.
