24 24- Monster House

Mineshaft - excavation consisting of a vertical or sloping passageway for finding or mining ore or for ventilating a mine. excavation - a hole in the ground made by excavating.

An abandoned mineshaft was still the same but it was more dangerous since it has been abandoned for a long time, but the danger also have opportunities, inside these mineshafts lays the treasure chests that holds many precious materials.

There is even a chance of finding rare ores such as diamonds, enchanted books and maybe some rare treasures.

After Mark called out Chris, they both immediately went towards the abandoned mineshaft, the wood that has been supporting the cave was rotting, the pathway was already destroyed and many obstacles blocked the pathway.

Mark and Chris had no choice but to mine this obstacles and take some of their time.

"Thankfully we brought some food and water with us, we don't have to return today," Chris said.

"How much did you bring?" Mark asked.

"Enough to last us 2 days in this place, I also made a clock" Chris said.

"A clock? when did you make one?" Mark asked.

"Earlier, I was going to give it to you since you said you started exploring deep caves, with the clock you wont lose track of time" Chris said.

"Wow, so considerate, but yes, I do really need it, I cant see the time when I'm on the deep caves. I have to count while mining which is pain in the ass" Mark said.

"Well, we don't have man power right now so we could only do what we could" Chris said as they finally mined up the huge boulder blocking their pathway.

"Let's continue" Chris said then proceeded.

The abandoned mineshaft was very vast and had many tunnels connecting around it, they had to put some traces on their way so they wont get lost from the abandoned mineshaft, they used torches.

Torches were not that rare since they could make 4 pieces with a single coal and a stick, though they don't look good as the main source of light to houses but it was much better than nothing, anyway, they are cheap and easy to use.

While on their way, they found some iron ores, yes, some tons of iron ore, on every turn they go, there would be iron ores and coals too.

"With this we maybe could finally make an iron armor and some tools too?" Mark asked.

"Yes, this is enough for the two of us, but we still need to stack up some materials for the second continent, materials are very much needed since official guilds would open up" Chris said.

"No problem, I could mine some more when I have time" Mark said.

"Screech!

Just as they were walking they heard a screeching sound and when they turned their head, they saw group of monster spiders crawling towards them, it was very different from the usual spiders they have fought.

These ones were smaller and their color were also different, and these things were charging towards them at a very crazed rate.

"Get ready" Mark said as he took out a iron sword, while Chris took out a pair iron dagger, Mark took the front while Chris was behind him, they could not fight together side by side since the pathway was very narrow.

*Clang!

Mark struck the spider that jumped towards him with a simple stab of the sword then immediately jumped to the side and kicked the second spider near him to the back where Chris was.

Chris anticipated this and immediately stabbed the spider that was kicked towards him, instantly killing it.

The spider has very low health but they were fast, and Mark had a bad feeling about these spiders, he kicked another one to the back and killed the one in front of him.

*Splat!

Its blood splatted out and a little bit landing on Mark's hands.

{You have been poisoned by the blood of the poison spider, you will feel dizzy and you will lose 1 health per second, Duration of Poison: 10 seconds]

As the rang on Mark's ears, he immediately felt dizzy but he was able to resist it by clenching his fist tightly, and his nails dug deep into his palms.

Mark swung his sword forward but his aim was slightly off and was not able to kill poison spider in one hit, Chris who already killed the poison spider that was kicked towards him noticed Mark was having a hard time.

Chris extended his hand and grabbed Mark's clothes and immediately pulled him away, Chris immediately dashed away pulling Mark, Chris now had high level and most of his stats was put to agility so running away was very easy.

Though it consumed too much energy, it was much better than dying, Chris was able to outrun the spiders and found a safe place to hide.

He then checked around if the poison spiders were chasing after them but it seemed like he lost them, Chris immediately checked Mark and saw Mark's complexion was very pale, he was breathing heavily and he looked very sick.

Chris was worried but Mark looked fine after a few second.

"Are you okay? What happened?" Chris asked.

"I was poisoned, some of the blood of the spider splat into my hands, I'm fine now" Mark said.

"That is good, don't be careless next time" Chris said.

"Yeah, I didn't know those were actually poison spiders, I was careless" Mark sighed.

"At least we are fine, next time we should brew poison antidotes when exploring, we don't know how strong the other monsters with poison does" Chris said.

"Yeah, anyway, I think I found why there were many poison spiders there" Mark said.

"What?" Chris asked.

"A Monster House" Mark said.

" A monster house huh? I guess that is the only explanation why there were tons of them there, should we avoid that place, with our current items, clearing a monster house is very hard" Chris said.

"No, we could clear it, I was careless earlier and thought they were no different from spiders and was just slightly fast, I'm not an idiot who will make the same mistake twice, also we probably could use this monster house as experience and spider farm" Mark said with a confident smile.

"You are learning game words too fast" Chris said with a smile.
