A person who lacks motivation but likes swinging his sword around. Magic was something that he already grasped so going to a school to learn more about was something he didn’t want to do. And his sister was known throughout the world as the ‘strongest’ mage in existence, but there were more secrets that lurked in the world, in which the public had no idea about. This is a story about an overpowered protagonist, who wants to spend time with his family and journey through the world without using his full power to fight.

Episode 9- The Start of the Quest

If you don't mind then please point out the grammar mistakes. People might call me weird but I don't usually read anything I write so there might be mistakes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

In front of a gigantic building that was about three stories tall, a wide building that could fit tens of thousands of people. A building that is located directly in the center of the Kingdom of Telmauth, the building was known as the Adventures guild."

"...."

Six people stood arm's length beside each other, looking at the guild building that was in front of them, wondering if they should go in or not, their expressions showed they were in a state of uncertainty, as they were deciding whether they wanted to go on a quest or stay at him and do something else.

They were in a state of confusion because even though they wanted to go take a quest, neither of the six people knew if that was how they wanted to spend the rest of the day. Their uncertain expression showed that neither of the people knew if they should do it or not.

As future mages who are going to protect the world in peace are to be truly broken, they should be training and getting stronger, but they looked like that wasn't what they wanted to do at the moment.

That said, no one could say they were lazy or couldn't do their job right. After all, they were six of the strongest people that inhabit the human world.

"U-Uh… Shito… We are going to still continue to go on this adventure, right? I mean… I'm fine with it, but I'm wondering if everyone wants to do the same." Tenka asked as she took a single step towards the door of the adventure's guild.

"It doesn't really matter what we do for the day, as long as everyone has fun. I am okay with doing anything," Shito answered flatly.

Right after saying that, Shito turned his head towards his daughters, and noticed they were nodding their heads, signaling him that it was something they wanted to do as they spent time with their mother and father.

He looked over to his right and noticed that two women were standing there, one of the women was known as Lucia Koemiji, and she was the last hero that was going to ever be born or reincarnated. The other was Lilith Leoinbell and she was the best friend of Lucia, but she was also friends with Shito and his family. Both of them loved his daughters like they were their own nieces despite not having any blood connections.

Everyone nodded in agreement before walking inside the guild building. The room was vast, and there were seats that were lined up in rows, made from the finest wood, providing the guild hall with a pleasant, woody smell. The tables were large enough to fit about ten people at each table. Every single table and chair in the room was luxury, of course, the tables were made from the same materials one would use to make for the government or the great families.

Arriving at the Adventure's guild, the six people walked to the wooden board that was hanging up with a lot of different papers placed on the wall. The papers were the quests for the adventures to take so they could start their quests.

"Eh, there are a lot of quests here… which quest should we take for the day?"

"Mhmmmmm… how about this one…"

The girls looked at the quest that Shito was pointing at.

And the quest that Shito was pointing at was written as follows.

[A-Rank Dragon Subjugation

Location: Mystical Forest

Reward: 1000 gold coins.]

Tenka looked at her daughters, smiling brightly, "I'm guessing you two are fine with fighting this dragon."

"We can go ahead and fight with the dragons, I don't really mind. Even if the dragons are not stronger than us… they should at least be interesting to fight against." the twins shouted in unison as they were staring at the quest on the board.

"We can go ahead and take this quest, it couldn't really hurt us, after all, we are strong enough to fight and protect ourselves." Lucia committed as she looked over at her best friend, Lilith, and asked, "Are you all right with going on this quest…?"

"...I don't mind. It's supposed to be a time we have fun together, so we can do it and have fun hunting a dragon together… as friends."

After hearing Lilith finish those words, Shito went and grabbed the dragon quest that was hanging on the board. The quest was directly in the center of the board so he could reach the quest perfectly fine.

For the group, it was going to be their first time hunting a dragon together. Well, except for Shito, Illayaka, and Lucia since they hunted dragons before they met each other. Illayaka came from the realm of the void and climbed her way to the top, of course, she was going to fight some low-rank dragons on her quest to become the strongest, Lucia was the hero in countless different lives, so she hunted dragons before, and Shito hunted dragons before because….

There was not much for them to say to each other because they had already picked the quest. People were staring at them as they walked by them to go to the desk where the receptionist was sitting.

The receptionist was the same person that was there the first time, Mio Naruse, was the receptionist who worked at the guild from the time it opened until the time it closed. Mio liked her job very well and would happily come to the guild early if she had to, but even though she loved her job, she would occasionally beat up some of the adventures. After all, she was a trained fighter and took no disrespect from anyone.

But that was something that would be talked about another time…

Once they arrived in front of the receptionist, Shito handed the woman the paper that was in his hand.

"...We want to take this quest, if you don't mind that is."

"Would you stop being so careless… I'm not going to let you young students go out and fight that dragon! It's too powerful for you to handle at the moment, and I don't want you girls to get hurt fighting the dragon. You kids still have a life ahead of you."

In the words of the receptionist, Mio Naruse, the group looked at each other clearly noticing that the woman was worried about them.

While her tone was certainly showing her denying their request, it wasn't because they were weak, but because she didn't want them to get hurt. If it was the other adventures, she wouldn't really worry about them but since the students in front of her were students. Mio's will to keep them alive was overthrowing any of the other feelings that were in her body.

"You have seen me fight before so what's the problem with us going to fight the dragon," Shito asked flatly, "We can handle ourselves, so there is no reason for you to worry too much about us…"

"...Even if you so that…"

Despite the words that came out of his mouth, Mio attempted to talk them out of going on the adventure to fight the dragon once more.

"First of all, you are going to need a high-ranking adventure to tag along with you, and the dragon can fly to heights that can't be seen when you look up at the heavens. For you to be able to do that you are going to need to shoot the dragon out of the sky. The dragon is going to have to be in your striking rage, and since all dragons fly throughout the sky that would be hard to do with a mage that has perfect control of their mana. Also, the quest is a quest in that you need seven or more members to go on the quest… so for the quest to begin, you are going to need one more member."

"That shouldn't really matter then because the six of us are mages. And with that being said, we all can fight at close range."

Though Shito objected to Mio's statement, she continued talking.

"You are still going to need a seventh member, so you won't be able to go on the quest without that last member."

"Don't worry about the other member… she should be on her way her soo—...!"

"Uncleeeeeee Shitoooooo!" A familiar voice shouted, flying through the guildhalls at speeds that surpassed the speed of light.

Hearing the voice of the girl, Shito turned his body around, catching the girl that was flying towards him at rapid speeds. He was fast enough to dodge the girl, but if he did that she was going to hit and break something.

Shito's gaze was fixated on the girl that was in his hands before looking at the girl, and opening his mouth, "You arrived in time Alice… come on this quest with us to defeat the dragon."

"Haaaaaa! So, you have another A-rank adventurer going with you… then I guess I have no reason to deny your request to go fight the dragon."

Grabbing the stamp that was on the desk, Mio picked up the paper and stamped the paper before handing the paper to Shito.

"Make sure you kids stay safe out there… I wouldn't want any of you two to get hurt…"

"Thank you for worrying so much about us, and I will make sure we leave if we can't handle the quest. After all, I'm not the type of person to let my team die on a pointless mission."

"Please do that… make sure you can beat the dragon before rushing in, and if you can't don't fight with the dragon…"

Shito nodded his head before walking towards the door with his daughters, and the four other girls. The time for them to hunt the dragons had started so waiting around and doing nothing is not going to get their quest done.

So, their goal was to head to the dragon's dan, which was located five hundred meters away from the city.
