Episode 11- The Fairy Twins

After breaking through the anti-magic barrier by physically walking through it, the group of adventures arrived at a vast city. The city was decorated with all kinds of lights of various colors, and the city had beautiful lights. The houses were made from wood, and a big tree was in the vast city.

Tenka looked up at the city with eyes sparkling in excitement, "This place is really beautiful, isn't it?  I can't wait to explore the city with you people."

There were people of normal sizes walking around the vast city, but unlike normal humans, the people had light wings. Even though they were fairies, they still looked similar to the spirits that were in the spirit world.

"...You can go ahead and come out now, I have noticed you have been watching us for a while now. If you don't come out, I'm going to have to go and drag you out." Shito called out flatly.

Hearing his words, Lilith looked toward Shito, "Huh, what are you talking about? There is no one near us—...!"

In the blink of an eye, two girls appeared in front of the group of adventurers. They were short and could easily be mistaken as children.

Despite their appearance, the expression on the two girls' faces was dignified, which immediately contradicted the fact that the two girls were young children. The facial expressions they had were someone with hundreds or even thousands of years of experience.

Both the girls had well-groomed long hair, which was golden-blonde, and a beautiful pair of sapphire eyes. The two girls were twins so that was the reason that they looked alike.

On the backs of the two girls' backs, there were two pairs of light wings.

The twin that was on the left side stepped forward with her hands crossed. Once she got close to the group of adventurers she bowed politely before looking over at her sister. The twin, Chloe, was the soft-hearted one who placed her trust in most people.

"Sister, I guess these people are strong enough to help us. The magic we are using is able to completely erase our existence from the world. Making it so no one could sense us."

"You are right about that sister… they should be able to help us…" one of the fairy twins, Cecilia said briefly pausing before she asked, "Are we going to be able to trust these adventurers? After all, they are humans… and most humans are power-hungry. The spirits in the elves told us to only trust humans with the exception of Sara Mahinu the strongest mage."

"I can understand your hate for humans," acknowledged Shito, "But we have come here to fulfill the quest that was sent to the adventurer's guild. We know that a dragon has been running rampant, so we have come here to help you."

Shito knew how cruel humans could be… after all, he was a human himself, but he evolved passed the humans, becoming a being that was nothing, but something at the same time. His existence was a complete contradiction.

He knew the nature of the human race, but he knew that there were some good people in the human race, which was why he could sympathize with the humans and the fairies.

The twins looked at each other nodding their heads, "What you say is the truth… we need your help with something, but we are going to have to take you to the fairy queen."

"Hmmm. Let's go meet the spirit queen then. We are going to complete this quest you have for us."

Saying those words, Shito bowed politely. He was going to be polite to the fairies and build some kind of trust with them so he could erase some of their doubts.

"Papa, you sure have a way with words," Illayaka said, "with your way of words you can convince anyone to do anything you want to."

The twins' fairies started to walk toward the city. The group was standing on the outskirts of the fairy village with most of the things in the city being in sight.

Looks like they want to cut down on the talking, well I guess that's to be expected. After all, a dragon is destroying the forest, and as the forest protectors… they want someone strong enough to help them. Shito thought.

"......"

Shito looked back at the four girls that were standing behind him and didn't say a single word. He started to walk toward the city behind the twins' fairies that were walking ahead of him, keeping a firm grip on his daughters who were walking on his shoulder.

But suddenly he started to focus his mana on both of his hands, his left hand was holding his daughter, Illayaka's leg. His other hand was holding his daughter Illya's leg.

Mana was being formed around the girl's body. The gravity that was around his daughter was being placed around the twins' bodies. Of course, he didn't want his daughters to fall off his shoulders, so he forced the gravity around his daughters to stay in one place, which naturally defied the laws of gravity. As long as his magic was placed on his daughters, they would not fall off of his shoulders.

It seems like Papa placed the magic on us again. I guess he wants us to be safe when riding on his shoulder. Well, with his knowledge he should know that our balance is always perfect, so we won't fall off his shoulders. The twins thought to themselves. Both the little girls were smart enough to know what their father was thinking, but they couldn't always feel or sense what he was thinking. But with their minds, the two girls could conclude his thought process.

Arriving at the giant gates of the city, the twin fairies turned their heads toward the group of adventurers.

"Gather near us… we are going to teleport everyone to the fairy queen's chamber." The fairy twins said in unison, "It's going to be the fastest way for us to see the queen. After that, we will let you explore the city, but the queen comes first."

Hearing that, the group of adventurers arrived near the fairies. Snapping their fingers, a three-dimensional magic formation under the group, and they suddenly teleported adventure place. The fairies connect two spaces with their magic, allowing them to instantaneously teleport.

"Looks like we have arrived at the fairy queen's chambers." Alice looked up at the building that was in front of her face, "well, to say that this place is perfect is an understatement."

The building that the fairy queen stayed at. The building was a large three-storied structure that was made from the finest wood, giving a sophisticated appearance. It was decorated with lights and the mana around the building.

The mana in the place is rich and elegant, the group of adventures thought, actually the whole vibe around this house gives off a gentle feeling—just from feeling the air around the building, one can tell that the person on the inside was a gentle person.

Around the house that was made from trees, Confucius trees surrounded the house, and small fairies floated around the air in a ball of light.

"We need to hurry up and go inside of the building. The fairy queen is waiting for you all to speak to her."

"..." Shito simply nodded his head without saying a single word. It was time for them to meet the fairy queen and there was no reason for him to keep talking about pointless things. A quest involving dragons was going to be given to them, and the unknown details were about to come to light.

"Uncle," Alice murmured, "we are going to be starting this dragon-hunting quest. Aren't you excited!"

Shito shifted his gaze toward his niece, "No, I'm not happy at all…" he said bluntly.

"I thought you were looking forward to this quest. What changes your mind?" Tenka asked, curiously.

"I'm happy to be going on the quest, but this gives me the time to spend time with my family and friends. The dragons are going to be minor problems, so I have no problem with fighting against the dragons, but it isn't going to be a hard fight… unless they are about to push me close to death. Although that is impossible in the world we are currently."

"Papa is right about this you know. He isn't really the type to get excited while going to fight some dragons…! The best they could do was scratch him, and that would only be possible if he allowed it!" the twins said in unison, jumping off their fathers' shoulders, "But that doesn't mean that he isn't feeling anything right now! If the dragon is strong enough to fight against him then he might try to enjoy the fight!"

The flaxen-haired boy walked towards the fairy twins that were standing in front of the building door, waiting for them to finish talking. Both of the fairy twins knew not to interrupt the group because it was considered disrespectful, and the Fairy queen didn't like people who didn't like being respectful to the guests.

Noticing that they were waiting for them, the group of adventurers walked towards the door.

"Well, let's go inside of the room. The fairy queen should be located in one of the rooms on the first floor!"

Lilith smiled at the fairy twins, "Ok, we can go ahead and do that, we have been standing around here wasting too much time talking to each other…"

"Yeah, we have been talking too much to each other… so now it's time for them to start the meeting with the spirit queen," Tenka added.
