" Where are you going?" His voice came out low and threatening. Diana was startled. She couldn't help but take a step backwards. She didn't notice his presence when she came down the stairs and who knew this cunning man was still going to be awake at this time. How did he know she was coming when she was literally tiptoeing. He was seated in the living room where the light was dim but enough to see a person. He held a champagne glass which has the content of red wine in it. " I was going out for cool breeze, my room feels stuffy" She was so nervous. Her clothes had started to get wet from the back, she was sweating. He gently stood up and walked towards her gently. Every step he took was like a ticking bomb. He held up her chin so she would look directly into his pitch black eyes. She was mesmerized by his look. She felt his breath on her face and he smelt like wood and spices. " Don't tell me you are trying to run away Dian?" Her heart skipped a beat. Was it that obvious? " No..no why would I try to run away" She took a step away from him. He released her chin and smirked "Go back to your room" He turned and walked away. "I just wanted to clear my mind..." He paused " Don't make me repeat my self" Diane grit her teeth and took slow steps back upstairs. Why does he always treat her like a pet? ***** Diana is a teenager who lived with her aunt. Her parents died in an explosion a week after her thirteenth birthday. The police said it was just an ordinary explosion but her instincts told her there was more to it. Walking home one particular day, she was kidnapped and taken to a store house where she met Wyatt Burton. When their eyes met that day, she knew He was no ordinary person. Wyatt is a handsome man with a very cold personality. There was something very intriguing about him. She tried checking his background but found nothing apart from him being an orphan. He was mysterious to her.... Diana doesn't know why she was kidnapped and kept in his house. She received private lectures instead of going to school but everything ended when she found out his deepest secret that wasn't supposed to be known by anyone.

Invitation

(Diana's POV)

The voices in my head were getting worse everyday.

" Don't tell me what to do!" I screamed at my aunt and her expression changed. I pitied the old lady in her late fifties.

Every since my parents died in an explosion, aunt Chloe had taken me in and treated me like her own child since she didn't have any children of her own.

She frowned.

" Diana! listen to me, you have to visit the psychotherapist again. I heard you screaming at your self last night again." She scolded

I couldn't help but fold my arms and roll my eyes

" Oh yeah! just like the last time I almost got sexually assaulted by that filthy doctor"

I remember that day, I had an appointment with the doctor but he ended up losing his arm because I beat him up into a pulp for trying to take advantage of me. Thanks to the martial arts training dad forced me since I turned seven.

" No..no not Martin. You will be visiting a female therapist and it will be daily" Her voice softened.

I scoffed

" Are you sure she's not attracted to females?" I teased.

" Come-on sweetie" Aunt moved closer to me and tucked the strands of hair on my face behind my ear and smiled.

"Fine" I muttered and walked away from her

" Don't just leave, you haven't had breakfast yet"

I rolled my eyes and walked back to her. My aunt grinned.

' Her smile creeps me out ' I heard a female voice in my head but it wasn't me.

"Enough" I muttered to my self

' It would be better if you get rid of her so you can be on your own. She's too clingy' The voice continued.

"What?!"

" Is anything the matter Diana?" Aunty Chloe was looking at me. I didn't realize I said that aloud.

" It's nothing" I forced a smile and she smiled back.

' Look, you are not even allowed to talk to yourself' The voice replied in mocking tone.

' Sera enough. Haven't you had your fill last night? She couldn't sleep because of you ' A male voice said.

There wasn't just one voice in her head but two.

Sera was quiet for sometime.

' No need to argue, I'm going to get rid of both of you very soon.' I replied with my inner voice

Sera chuckled

' Rid of us? are you kidding me? She laughed more

' Dian, that's not possible we are a part of you now" The male voice said calmly.

This time, I've already sat down in the dining room waiting for Aunt to serve the food.

' Jeremy, you care too much' Sera scoffed

" We'll see about that"

"Aunty Chloe, I was invited for a party tonight"

" Whose party?"

" A friend of mine" I replied as I packed the dishes. we just finished eating.

Aunt hesitated before she sighed softly

" Okay but you have to be home before nine in the evening"

I was surprised,I wasn't expecting her to approve. I simply tried my luck

" Really? are you sure you won't be coming along?"

" of course not, I just realized how grown up you are. I spoilt you enough, if I tag along again, I'll be spoiling you the more"

"Yes!"I was so excited

A day before, Christopher invited me to his twentieth birthday party which is tonight.

I was so excited because I've had a crush on him for a very long time and I think he knows. It's so funny that I act tough everywhere I go but whenever he's around, I behave like a shy ten year old girl and that makes me a weirdo among my friends.

" Really Diana?" Ava rolled her eyes when she noticed the change in my expression.

" Hey Ava, don't complain now he's coming towards us." Julie chuckled

Julie and Ava are my best friends. They act tough just like me but the thing is every tough person has a soft spot.

Julie is black. She has this natural curly hair which I envy sometimes. She's got hazel eyes while Ava is blonde with deep blue eyes. I heard she got the trait from her grandmother who's irish.

" Girls please just shut up" I whispered under my breath. I gave one of my cutest smiles.

Chris walked up to us, His face was sweaty and his brown hair stuck to his forehead. He was wearing a jersey.. I guess he was just coming back from. basketball practice. I couldn't help but stare at his handsome face.

" Hey girls"

" Hi" Julie and I responded while Ava scoffed.

He looked at her and smiled.

" I'll be having my birthday party tomorrow night and I was thinking if you guys could come" He said looking at me still smiling. His smile was warm and beautiful. I felt my heart skip a beat. I stared into his eyes, his eyes were similar to Ava's eyes. I couldn't help but get lost in my own thoughts.

' What do you want to do now? Have sex with him?' Sera said and chuckled. I ignored her.

' well ' she continued

' You can just go to his party, when there is no one around, pull him to a corner and make out with him'

I thought of Sera's idea for a while, she gives very unreasonable ideas.

" Diana, are you okay?" Chris waved his hand in my face

I smiled awkwardly

" Sorry Chris, I spaced out for a sec"

He smiled and glanced at Ava who pretended to be on her phone.

" It's fine. so are you coming?"

" We are definitely going to come, thanks for inviting us"

" We'll see tomorrow then" He looked at me one last time and left.

" I'm not going, I've got some assignments I'm yet to finish" Ava spoke up immediately

I couldn't help but hit her shoulder

" ouch! what was that for?"

" You are going to come and that's final" I grinned at her.

" Fine...fine...fine" She rolled her eyes

" I'll come pick you girls up by six" Julie volunteered since her parents were the richest amongst all of us.
