2 Leaving Mist Valley

"Don't you think it feels strange?."

Strange?

Yuliang let the question hang in the air for a few moments, finishing the paragraph of the web novel he was engrossed in before extricating his attention from it enough to offer a perfunctory inquiring noise."Hm?"

"Finally leaving, I mean," his brother continued.

Yuliang looked up from his phone, directing his attention to his brother, but Yukio wasn't looking at him. His twin occupied himself with tracing idle patterns on the car window using the vapor condensed on its surface.

"Don't get me wrong; I'm glad that we're leaving. Honestly, you should have listened to me, and we should have run off a long time ago, but… but it's still home." Yukio paused, hand pulling away from the window to look over at him. There was an uncertain look in his large slanted amber eyes that simultaneously looked so much like and so different from Yuliang's own. "Isn't it?"

Yuliang sighed. It was his turn to look outside the window. His eyes lingered on the lush hilly scenery of the rural Sundanese countryside. Cottages with rustic roofs dotted the hill-scape. Steam rose and curled lazily out of chimneys, dissipating into the layer of mist that had draped across their town, the aptly named Mist Valley.

"Yeah. It is."
