Anne, Lisa and Carol's past (7)

Earlier that day when Henry had left for work, Lisa went ahead to do a thorough cleaning, the whole house was so sparkling clean by the time she was done. She then cleaned, ironed as well as put in order Henry's clothes. The moment she was done with the chores she sat down and rested for almost an hour and then began to pack her clothes afterward. She had brought just five pairs of clothes with her but she now had more because Henry and his parents bought some for her from the cheap clothes shops. After 15 minutes she was done, and went on to prepare Henry's favorite dish, took a shower, and then left the house. She was a bit hesitant because all the memories that she and Henry had shared were so special and it was aching in her heart to let go just like that but she knew she had to because that was the best for everyone especially Henry and his family.

She had decided to go back to her parent's house, that was the only way to avoid any trouble for Henry. As much as she wanted to run away to a different place, she knew that Henry wouldn't escape any torture from her family. The moment she arrived at the gate of her parent's house, she noticed that there were some changes. First, there was a newly built Durawall and from each corner, there was a camera making it a total of two cameras. Second, the same Durawall had, an electric fence on top and there was a room attached to it. In that room, a security guard was inside and anyone who wanted to get into the house had to pass through him first.

(Taking a deep sigh, wagging her head, and also trying by all means possible to control the tears that were burning in her eyes) She couldn't believe that her parents could go to such extremes just because she fell in love with someone that they couldn't approve of. She slowly, walked to the guard's room, wishing the earth would just open and swallow her and Henry. The thought of living with her parents again, especially in her condition, and also looking back at the events that had happened recently, she felt like hot coals were burning in her head. In a few minutes, she was standing in front of the security guard's window. She introduced herself and explained the reason for her visit, but the security guard couldn't believe her, because she had never seen her before and she seemed a bit suspicious to him. Later, after Lisa's begging and persistence, the guard called Carol to the gate. After Carol had confirmed that Lisa was her only sister, that's when the security man went on to open the gate for her.

As for Carol, the moment she was done confirming Lisa's identity she just turned and walked back to the house without saying any word, not even something as simple as a greeting. Lisa saw that Carol had no intention of giving her any sort of warm welcome, which didn't bother her because she had expected something like that to happen. She quickly followed Carol and, in a few minutes, she had caught up with her. Their house's yard was quite big, so it would take minutes to walk from the gate to the house. The moment they got to the door, Lisa noticed that they were changed and if one wanted to enter inside, they had to use either a key card or a fingerprint. All these changes were too much for Lisa, and she couldn't help but ask as Carol opened the door.

"What kind, of house arrest is this?"

(Annoyed) "What sort of question is that, isn't all this thanks to you? You did a good job and we are both receiving your rewards, aren't you satisfied, or you had planned to run away again? Honestly, I am glad that you have come to join me in this prison because I was getting tired of it." Said Carol giving way to Lisa and also sounding sarcastic.

Lisa didn't say anything more, the two of them were never very close so it wasn't easy to explain her actions to her little sister. She wanted to apologize but she felt it wasn't the right time, so she walked to her room, fortunately, her door wasn't changed or locked. Inside her room nothing was changed or touched, the order that she had left was still the same but everything including the floor, sheets, and bathroom was all clean. She put the small travel bag that had her clothes that was in her hand on the floor and then went to lay on the bed. The cold shoulder that Carol had given her earlier, was something that she wasn't able to get over. Though she had so much expected something like that she couldn't stop imagining how much her parents were going to treat her. The thought of facing her mum, made her feel so dizzy, and she ended up going into the shower to refresh herself. The moment she came out of the shower, she found her mum sitting on her bed and her eyes were glued to the door of the bathroom. That startled her so much that she almost fainted, though it didn't happen her heart couldn't stop beating and also, and she began to feel weak. She slowly walked to her dressing table and sat on the fluffy small chair that was in front of the table. She couldn't bear to look her mum in the face so she just looked away and began to slowly apply lotion to her body.

(Angry and annoyed) "Finally the prodigal daughter has recalled the directions to her parent's house. Don't tell me that wretched son of a dog made you forget your manners. Since when did you and I become mates such that you no longer know how to greet?" Said Lisa's mum, trying to hold the anger that was boiling inside of her.

"I…I…well, eh I din…didn't mean to…goo…good day mum…" Said Lisa softly, with her head lowered.

(Getting angrier) "You say good day, are you stupid? When last did you see me? On another note, there is absolutely nothing good about today. Good days ceased to exist since the day you eloped with that blue-eyed maggot. Anyway, I don't have all day, and I hope you have got all your senses back because (pointing in Lisa's direction) the thing in your stomach needs to be dealt with…"

(Shocked) "Huh…"

(Annoyed) "Huh what? This is not an organization that raises b*st*rds, we did it for your cousin, that was the first and last and we also learned our lesson. I am not going to wait for you to outsmart me or run away again. Tomorrow, we are going to get both of us visas, and if everything goes well by next week we will be flying out of the country. You better behave yourself because of the anger that I am feeling I can beat you blue-black until you miscarry which might even save us the effort of going out of this country so you better be careful." She said, as she was standing by Lisa's door and almost exiting her room.

Lisa couldn't believe her ears, she never imagined that she was going to be treated like a thing. Though she knew she was wrong, she expected her mum to sit her down and have a mother-and-daughter talk. She thought she was going to scold her and give her a hard time and then hear her out in the end, but at that moment she then realized that all was just her wishful thoughts. Her mother's words kept on ringing in her heart, which led to a very strong burning sensation in her heart, she began to feel nauseous, and she quickly rushed to the bathroom and puked for a few minutes. She then came back into her room, slowly walked to her door, and locked herself inside. It seems, her mum had forgotten to remove the door key. As she walked from the door, she felt very dizzy, in a few minutes she couldn't see anything and then she fainted

On the other hand, Henry quickly checked the message that he had received, inside his heart he was praying that it had to do with Lisa's disappearance and fortunately for him his prayer was answered. The message was from Lisa which read:

Hey, sugar, how are you doing, and how did you spend your day at work today? (After laughing emojis) I am so silly, I can't believe I am asking you questions, and yet I don't know when I will be able to receive your reply. Anyway, I have prepared your favorite dish, make sure you eat everything okay. My love by the time you will read this message I am certain that I would have reached home, I mean my parents' house. I am sure you didn't expect me to do this, but I have been thinking about it over and over again and I have realized that this step is best for both parties your family included. Henry, I love you so much and I can't afford to fold my arms and watch you and your family go down with me. I made a mistake; I should have thought everything through. To tell you the truth, it hurts me a lot to hear you sighing every day and seeing losing sleep and weight also. Though you never complained I have been watching you closely and I could tell how much the situation has been eating you slowly. I know you love me too if not you would have denied the pregnancy without thinking twice. I appreciate you for all the days and times we spent together. If I get a chance to have it a million times, I wish to be with you for eternity. I couldn't tell you about this idea of mine because I knew you wouldn't agree with me. I am so sorry for saying goodbye like this but I know we will meet again either soon or later. You might be disappointed, but allow me to try and make things right not only for us but for our child also. I don't know how I will do it but just give me a chance. My sweetheart, please don't be too sad or even let anger take over you, take a deep breath and allow yourself to see the bigger picture. I have a lot to say, I will tell you when I get a chance, once again I AM VERY SORRY AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Henry finished reading the message sitting on the floor, tears streaming down his cheeks. The moment he was done reading Lisa's message he then noticed that there was another message that he received in the afternoon but he didn't notice it. The moment he read the first part of the message he felt his whole world crumbling down…
