Taking care of business

Max returned to the Starlight academy and found out a lot of people waiting for him. Patriarchs of big families, rulers of different countries, high level adventures and other big shots came to meet the seventh grandmaster alchemist of the continent. It was rumoured that this alchemist was a young man that had a lot of time in this world. It meant only one thing. Those people had to get in a good relationship with him. This grandmaster Max could improve further and elevate the power levels of the people that will do business with him. Those high-level people knew that those grandmasters had their circles that got most of their alchemical products and it was very hard to enter such circle. Because of this those people did not mind humbling themselves and come over. Even emperors of lower-level empires did come to try and get into a better relationship with Max. Max did expect something like this, but when he looked at the big amount of people that came, he was a little at a loss. He knew he needed to somehow move around and not let people know where he was, or he will be chased around by a horde of bigshots. 

Max did take his time to greet all those people and make a schedule where he would meet with them and they will negotiate potential buisness. That was the best thing he could promise to those people. He did not want to make a anyone of those guys mad because they did have a lot of power behind their backs. It could be a clan or a whole empire. Even the high level adventurers would be a crowd that Max did not want to offend. With this a whole day has passed. Max was very tired, but he did make a meeting schedule which will start a week from now.

Greg was released by Max to do his thing. Greg wanted to go to his family and get all the techniques to his offsprings. His family did have a high mage even before Greg become one, but he was sure that his younger relative was much weaker than him right now. His clan was pretty strong even for the bigger empires and it required respect. This clan was located not far away from the Starlight academy in the Noxus empire.

When Greg came over one of the guards greeted him with excitement and said: "Elder Greg, congratulations on your breakthrough. Now our clan has two high mages. This is great news!"

Greg only nodded to the guard and said: "Please call for the meeting of elders. This is very important and urgent. I don't have much time. I will need to come back as fast as possible to master Max."

The guard nodded to the elder and ran to get the new to the elders. After around a hour the meeting of the elders of the Rock family started. Not all the elders could attend, but it did not matter much. The current patriarch named Terry did come and most of the elders also found a time to attend. After a round of congratulations, the patriarch said: "Elder Greg before you say anything I want you to know that you will be elevated to a rank of a Grand Elder. Why did you call all of us today?"

Greg thanked the patriarch and said: "I have a few news to announce. A lot of things happened lately to me. I got very lucky to get as the protector of Grand Alchemist Max. You will be surprised, but I did already get an inheritance of the nova skill and the flight skill, and I can use the nova skill even without a cast."

Greg wanted to continue, but was interrupted by the patriarch that said with round eyes: "Where did you got this technique from Greg? We don't have something like this in our family. I did not hear anything like this in the academy as well."

Greg was a little annoyed by being interrupted, but he answered: "It is all because of Grandmaster Max. He got me all of this and more. I would like to give the clan a few gifts. From what I see we may have turbulent times ahead of us and I want the clan to be strong. Here are two things master allowed me to give you. First of all, I inherited a skill called earth domain from him. It greatly boosts the ability of earth mages to feel the earth around them and manipulate it as part of their bodies. It will be a game changed for our clan. The only downside is that I did not get permission to give you the high mage level of this technique. Even with the mage level technique every member of the clan with earth aptitude will get a huge advantage over other. I do recommend giving this technique as a reward for talented members of the clan or for someone that got a lot of merit. Also, I got permission to give you magic staffs that will boost your power level by around two levels. I got 20 of those magic staffs for apprentice level mages, 7 for mage level individuals and I got very lucky to get one for you patriarch. It will boost your fighting capabilities to the level of a third high mage, and I could be more at ease."

After saying those words, he got all the wands and distributed them to the patriarch and the elders of the clan. There were not enough staffs for all the elders so only the stronger ones got the staffs. When they did try to infuse their powers into the staff to cast something they felt huge boost in power. They were all dumbfounded. This is something that did not exist in the continent. 

The patriarch asked: "Where did you get this? Can we get more? You got a lot of gifts for us, but is that Max worthy of you giving him so much respect? You are a high mage now."

Greg sighed and said: "I cannot tell where I did get this from. It is a secret. I will try to get more in the future for sure. As for Max. He is much stronger than me in terms of fighting. I will need a few people of my level to have a chance to take him down. He is a high mage himself, and he is a monster in terms of power level. I would recommend you treat him with the most respect and not even because he is an alchemist, but as a warrior. He could wipe our clan by himself. Even if we try to fight him together, we will die for sure. He did get a gift for the clan from himself as well to show a good will for me working for him. Here is a pill for a breakthrough to the high mage level. We do not have elders at the ninth mage level, but there are few at the eight. This pill will assure your breakthrough if your foundation is sturdy. It is a very high-level pill in terms of its amplification. Its amplification is around 63 times. It is like you will take 63 normal pills at once. It must stay as a secret, or our clan will be doomed!"

The patriarch and the elders were very excited from all the gifts Greg gave them. They also understood that this pill will be kept with the patriarch always so no one will do anything silly. After a little bit of chatting with each other over different topics the patriarch asked: "Can we spar a little? I did not have the ability to spar with people of my power level and I think it will be a good thing for the clan elders and juniors to watch."

Greg did not mind. He smiled and said: "Sure. You will see the fruit of my training and the power of the earth domain I mastered."

The patriarch did not mind Greg's confidence. They agreed to not use the staff because the patriarch was not used to it. After a very short time all the people off the clan that could attend got to the fighting arena of the clan to watch a friendly fight between two high mages of the earth element. Even in such a big clan the best thing they saw was some guidance from the patriarch. A friendly fight could show them a lot more without talking too much. 

The patriarch was excited, but his excitement quickly died down when he started to spar with Greg. The earth element did not listen to him. It was like Greg could take over his spells and just do whatever he wanted. The patriarch could not defend at all because his earth element defensive spells were just broken apart by Greg's domain as well. It was like a child fighting an adult. The whole clan was dumfounded. Greg was in a hurry to come back so he said a loud to all the clan after trashing the patriarch a bit so he will not get too cocky because he was a high mage: "This control over the earth element is the earth domain technique that I got from master Max. You are very lucky to be able to study this technique. Work hard and the best of the clan will get to study it, and you will become unparalleled against earth users and your earth spells will be on another level. I have to get back. I wish you good luck in your studies!"

After Greg finished his words, he flew off back to the Starlight academy in a hurry.
