Alfred, let’s go
Alfred unfastened Veronica's coat without waiting for her consent. He observed that her white tunic became red. When Veronica saw Alfred in this position, she took hold of his hand while his gaze remained frozen.
"I'm OK, honey. It's a slight cut."
Alfred clenched his teeth and pulled her dress up from her abdomen. He saw a cut, but the area around the wound became blue.
"Veronica, that wound feels deep," said Alfred.
Veronica nibbled the inside of her lower lip. She inhaled deeply and considered the fact that, although the cut wasn't deep, she had gotten snake venom. Veronica attempted to move his hand, but he was too stiff for her to do so.
"Why? How come you can't heal it?" Alfred questioned her while trembling in fear. Alfred wondered whether the snake might have poisoned Veronica. As he deliberated, he questioned, "Veronica, are you poisoned by the snake in any way?"
