Black Market Romance (3)

[Welcome to the Lestine Swamp. It is located in the Kingdom Of Lorencia, Darthmire Continent, Planet Misteri. exact coordinates are unavailable.]

The system interrupted her thoughts as she stared at the screen in front of her with eyes wide open. Her thoughts started to run wild.

She had not expected the system to know exactly where she was.

Sometimes, Extractors would find ancient ruins in some of the Gates that hinted that the dimensions inside once had intelligent civilizations.

The information that she had just gotten her hands on was something that the government had not been able to get its hands on for 50 years.

"Wait! Wasn't there two species called the Lorencia Bluefish and Lorencia Blue Star Salmon? Doesn't that mean that they lied?" Cynthia fell into a state of deep shock and started to question everything the government had said for the past 50 years and the future 20 years.

She knew that the government hid many things from the public about gates from the public. She didn't expect them to hide the fact that they had deciphered the language in the ruins already.

These two creatures were named athletes 30 years ago by the government who names all the plants and animals in other dimensions.

"Why would they hide a piece of information that would help quell the public contestant unrest towards the gates...unless what they deciphered did the complete opposite." Cynthia conjured ideas about why they would hide this information and only one came as plausible.

"Whatever they read most likely harms the interest of the government to a certain degree and would cause upheaval if released." She was sure that whatever it was it wasn't something that she could get her hands on normally but with the system, she had a chance.

"Hey system, can you translate the language of this world for me?" she asked in her head. She was already talking out loud a bit too much. She couldn't help but blabber on when she was in a secluded place with no humans around.

She often kept quest so this was just so she could counteract that.

[Yes, as long as the user can find someplace with writing. This place falls under the 10,000 galaxies that are closest to the user so I contain all of its languages and the ability to identify 99.99999% of items. ]

Cynthia nodded with a smile as this was expected of the system known as the Interdimensional Trading System.

"What's with the missing percentage?" she asked.

[There could be items from places outside the 10,000 galaxies. This is to account for the slim possibility of that.]

Cynthia understood that there could be meteors or phenomenons like her planet's gates that allow things from other planets to land here.

She also understood that calling places in gates 'other dimensions; might be wrong since they are still in the same universe.

While she was practicing and hunting, Cynthia decided that she could probably spend an extra half an hour or so just looking around for a ruin. She might not find one as they showed up randomly.

Whoop! Whoop!

She took off her coat and mask and put them inside the storage device her father had given.

She carefully inspected her black, skin-tight battle suit. She also wore combat boots up to her knees. This outfit highlighted her curves very well and made her look more mature.

Accompanied with her icy gaze, it made her appear as a true female assassin or agent. She stood at the edge of the swamp and beach and was about to set a foot inside when...

SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!

Three, blood-red spikes with the thickness of a toothbrush, that felt faster than the wind arrived inches away from her feet and drilled themselves into the ground.

Some had just fired warning shots at her. Indicating that she should stop right in her tracks and not take a single step more or else she would be skewered.

"With my reaction time, I couldn't dodge them so why did you miss on purpose?" she shouted. She wanted to attackers to reveal themselves and figure out how someone sneaked in here without the market noticing.

"Hehehe...keeping an eye on your house was worth it. You brought me so many surprises." The energetic and vivacious voice of a young man could be heard chuckling.

'Why does this voice sound so familiar?' Cynthia thought in confusion while she moved her eyes around the treeline to locate where she heard the voice from.

Soon, her crimson eyes meet with the blood-red eyes of a tall male, with the face of a teenager sitting on a tree branch.

He smiled in a charming way and admired the eyes he wasn't able to see yesterday when this girl was asleep.

Then Cynthia saw his handsome face up close as he jumped from the tree and dashed over at a speed that shredded the tree was sitting on into a mangled state. He was standing only an inch away from her and looked down at her. The previous blood thorns that were there had already disappeared.

When she got a clear look at his distinct features, Cynthia's heart stopped beating for a moment as her eyes became somewhat teary. Her heart started to palpitate after its quick break as small droplets of water fell down her face.

Her mind was in a mess and memories of her pasts started to take over and flood her mind. Her judgment was clouded and she could not think straight. Her instincts and emotions took over.

There was no longer any trace of rationality in her mind. She pushed Ryan onto the sand, dirtying his white shirt, black skinny jeans, and silky hair that was a bloody red.

She jumped on top of him and shoved her face into his chest as he tightly cuddled her face into it.

Ryan lifted his head up ever so slightly and was completely stumbled. His expression was blank with confusion floating in his eyes. He did not know how his ct of trying to surprise led her to counter-attack with such ferocity.

Before he could voice his opinion, he felt his shirt being wet near his chest.

'Why is she crying? Did I do something wrong? Big brother said he left a deep impression in sister-in-law when he first slashed his sword at her?' he thought.

Ryan was just copying his elder brother's actions of winning over a girl with his show of strength. He started to wonder if he scared her or may have left an impression so deep and quickly that's he would fall into tears of joy.

And now we know, just like the past Cynthia that was inept at communication, Ryan Frontera suffers from a lack of normal interaction with people his age.

Unable to comprehend how he should interact with a crying girl, he searched through his memories and found something.

He sat up very slowly and gently raised Cynthia with him. Once in an upright position, he put an arm around her back as he amiably patted the top of her head.

'This is something mother does to Nina whenever she cries. It must work!'Ryan saw his mother comforting his younger sister whenever she was upset.

"Huh?"Cynthia felt the compassionate pats on her head and her rationality was back in control. She then quickly stopped her tears and wiped them on Ryan's thin shirt. His shirt had become drenched and was now see-through.

When seeing his bare body, she realized what she had done in the past minute. Her cheeks reddened deeply as she blushed in embarrassment.

Ryan also noticed this and felt that this girl could show a very interesting variety of expressions. He sprouted a warm smile and then decided to tease her.

"It seems you must take responsibility for me since you have seen me like this." He chuckled while reciting a line that he saw girls say constantly in anime.

(Author's Note: Don't ask why but they have a Japan in this world too. It would be boring otherwise, for me that is.)

Even though Cynthia had regained rationality, such a line gave critical damage to her heart. Why wouldn't it do so, it was from the man she had planned on spending all her life with. It was the one person that she had truly given her heart to.

The reason for the crying was because even though she knew she would see him sooner or later, seeing him without any preparation brought out the feelings of momentary despair she felt when she first learned that her death was inevitable.

She had felt so many regrets at that time and even though she hide them away deeply, they surc=faced when she saw his fiery eyes that only had her in them.

Even going back 20 years, she could still see that he had fallen in love with her at first sight. It was a feeling that neither Ryan nor Cynthia could explain.

They just felt a sense of spiritual enlightenment that told them that they have always been perfect for each other no matter what situation they meet in.

'BUTTERLY EFFECT CAN GO TO HELL!!!!' she announced internally. She thought in the beginning that the butterfly effect could mess with the relationship they could form but she was wrong.

"You probably can't get married since I saw you like this. I will take responsibility then. Marry me." Cynthia said teasingly as she donned a mysterious grin.

The expressions she was making were really leaving Ryan's face stupefied every time. This made her laugh as she took this opportunity to tease him again.

"Hehe, your face isn't that bad. I can take you in if call me queen." She said this while holding his chin with her index finger and lifting it up very slightly.

It was obvious who the top and bottom are in this relationship.

Cynthia's attack had been very effective from the first moment and she didn't give Ryan a chance to react. He somehow ended up blushing as well as his cheeks turned a very light shade of red.

Realizing how he had been taken advantage of, he shook his head and suddenly got up.

'I have to run. She might be more dangerous than me. I have been stalking her since this morning but it's me who took the most damage.' he thought.

Ryan just realized that he suffered a lifetime of embarrassment in only a couple of minutes. he couldn't possibly tolerate more but his heart did not agree with his mind.

He felt that he somehow didn't mind the embarrassment of was from the girl in front of him. He also didn't feel that calling her queen was a bad idea because then he would a king.

This wasn't necessarily true but rather his heart was manipulating him to submit to her charms, twisting his logic in the process.

"My queen...." he blurted out before he could stop himself. before he could make it worse, he slapped himself to awaken his mind and block his heart from becoming the dominant one.

Cynthia continued to chuckle as she found his contradictory personally cute. She couldn't stop herself from basking in the purely heavenly feeling she was getting from this.

Under her cold and expressionless face, she really hid her sadism well. It wasn't an issue though as it is a very mild case.

"I think it's too early to think about marriage. Let's date first then tell our parents when we are ready." Ryan needed to take some authority and balance things out.

He didn't know what he was doing but was sure that Cynthia had ensnared him into a cage he could no longer escape. Since he didn't feel like anything was wrong, he decided to give things a try.

"Yeah, we were going too fast. Let's slow down and enjoy our youths first. You also need time to get to know your queen well or you won't be able to serve her well." Cynthia would not give up on the nonstop attacks.

"I will see you later then. Here, take this." He said as he took a platinum ring off his pinkie and tossed it to her. "I'll see you later so let's continue then."

With that, he phased away from right in front of her eyes. She remembered that his main power was to teleport long distances.

She also remembered that he was going to meet her the afternoon of the day that she died. He could have teleported to her instead of taking a plane but there was a storm going on.

This injected the air with a large amount of electromagnetic interference. This was the only scenario where he couldn't teleport through.

'Those guys from the black market can't catch him.'

With that thought, she let out a sigh. She knew that the black market would have sent people to catch him since he was here uninvited. That was the reason he left in a hurry.

As for the ring, it can be considered both a confession and compensation. She couldn't complete any of her missions because of him but this ring probably contained the monsters he hunted during the time he was here.

"SH*T! Where did he go? The device showed that he was right here." The people in black market combat outfits had arrived on the beach and were left stumped when they only saw the lone Cynthia.

Their main target had escaped from right under their nose.

That was my first attempt at writing something comedic yet romantic. How did it go?
