The birthday banquet. 1

After being told to go back to my room. I then prepared my necessary tools to make the gift.

The orichalcum is shaped to house a magic stone. I took out the magic stone in my pocket and placed it in the space that's been intentionally designed in the piece of orichalcum.

"it fits perfectly…"

[What about the thread?]

"Err… yeah the thread!"

I walked up to the drawer in my at least properly spaced room and opened it, there are two things I could use for the thread for this.

I picked the metal chain, this would at least last long, I tied the orichalcum piece and now it's a full-fledged necklace.

After I finished making it with a proud demeanour the necklace lit up with a slightly bright light.

The wisp came out and looked at me even though it didn't have eyes. It was looking at me.

〔care to explain?〕

"Right, well I'm pretty sure light spirits don't like status ailments right?"

〔right〕

That's why they don't like the darkness element, since it's full of status ailments.

"I wish to save someone who would suffer from a status ailment, thus I beg you to make a pact with them"

〔hmm… but why this necklace?〕

"It would look suspicious for me to use magic since I… didn't show anyone I could use magic."

〔Just tell it. 〕

"Well it is the part of the reason, let's say where we are going are full of talented people, if I got seen with a spirit at this age I would be in a dangerous place"

〔age? Ah yes, humans age differently, ahem. Fine, you want to save another right? I will stay in this stone till I meet this person. Be thankful as I am generous.〕

"Well… Thank you"

The spirit went back inside the stone of the necklace. I chose orichalcum for a reason, after all, it conducts mana very well. I don't have to worry about the spirit leaking some mana and oversaturating the environment.

Mana can saturate the environment, that's why they move a lot so the mana doesn't stay in one place, however in the situation I had a stone become a house for a spirit completely making it stay in one place.

But with the help of orichalcum, one that conducts mana, it would at least eat the mana then disperse it in a small amount, making it safe even if you put it in one place for a long time.

"Oh well, all is good, now before I go to sleep, Luna, is there something I need to know by tomorrow?"

{... None… I think?}

I squinted my eyes whilst looking at my pocket mirror.

{What??? Am I that untrustworthy?}

"Nah, you cannot remember things that make you annoying"

[True]

{hey!}

"Hahaha!" I plopped on the bed and started sleeping, hoping tomorrow wouldn't be hectic.

After my good sleep I prepared myself, the past few days I had already taken everything I needed, the place where the banquet would take place would be heavily secured.

But you see. I have a card up my sleeve. It's the sacrificial chanting by the grimoire I have.

I could at least sacrifice my mana to gain some stealth but doing only that is naive, the banquet would last for three days. I just need to survey the place.

I doubt that would be easy though, that is why I plan to tame some rodents.

They could at least bypass some magical circles to an extent, letting me survey the whole of the palace that's going to be used for the banquet.

"fuu…"

With that in mind, I fixed my clothes and checked the pocket mirror, before going to Ophelia's room.

—knock knock

"Come in…"

She still sounds depressed, ugh. I wish she never managed to see that happen before her eyes.

I opened the door to see a sleepy Ophelia on a stool. She seemed like she was forced to wake up.

"ugh… I'm... Nervous Sammy"

"Oh…"

I closed the door behind me and walked towards Ophelia, grabbing the brush in front of the drawer.

Our daily routine just started.

***

"Nnn…"

In her room, the Princess, Yelena. Is having the worst headache in her life.

"w-what's happening!"

The physicians in her room are starting to panic, they have tried everything they knew about headaches.

"It's… fine"

But Yelena hasn't gotten better and it's the start of her birthday banquet. Even Yelena is unaware of why this is happening.

"But Princess!"

"I said… ugh!"

Another headache came in, then a vision started to form straight into Yelena's mind. She saw a boy with a black mask and a black robe, dressed like a prince of the dark, coming down to the balcony.

"Hello princess~"

The prince looked at Yelena with a smile, his half-mask resembling that of a masquerade mask laced with a golden hue. His eyes are blue, but not the same as hers.

His eyes could be something that could describe the reflection of the sky on the sea.

It was beautiful for Yelena.

"Is our Little princess sick?"

he took out a necklace, it looks a bit suspicious but it doesn't feel like that at all.

"W..r… th.s…pr..c.ss"

Then she was pulled back to the present at a rapid rate, she wanted to stay more, she wanted to see the end.

"Y..ll b.. .in.."

"Princess!"

She was pulled back to the present thanks to the noises of the Physicians. She knew she was back, but she couldn't help but feel a little…

Displeased.

"I'm fine now"

"Princess?"

"Yeah, the episodes are gone. Ugh.."

She stood up and took the herbal drink the physicians made, she couldn't help but admit that it helps a little.

"It's fine now, so it's okay right?"

"But princess… "

"Enough, leave my chamber, I have a banquet to attend later"

The physician couldn't help but be worried at this mature demeanour of the princess, she's been like this ever since she turned three.

It was never like that, no. It all happened when she started receiving these similar headaches, it would last momentarily and something would last for days.

All because of her awakening.

But they all could do nothing about it.
