Birthday of the Princess?

The birthday of the Princess would last for three days, you heard that right three.

Nobles I guess because I would never manage to understand how they function.

"Now that I think of it this carriage seems comfy…and also, why am I in the same carriage as the Marquis?"

"Well…"

"Hehe~" giggled Penelope

"Sammy!" Ophelia spoke happily.

"I got forced." said the Marquis, somehow dejected.

{Lemme guess, they want to be with you more than the Marquis lmaooo}

[That's simultaneously funny and sad]

I wonder why adults need to be in the capital, at a child's birthday party. I guess since they're nobles, they see this as an opportunity to connect with royalty?

Is that the underlying meaning?

"Sammy, what are you thinking about?"

"Hmm… I have a present idea but… " I then looked at Lennon.

"When is this Banquet exactly?"

"Oh it's five days from now on," Lennon said as if remembering something.

"You have a present idea?" Penelope questioned

"Oh! Oh! Is it the same kind of birthday present you give me?" Ophelia interjected

I nodded at both questions. I gave two presents to Ophelia over the past two years.

One is a music box, it plays Bizet's vintage music, Toreador's songs. Which I made by the way.

And the second is a giant teddy bear which never gets dirty, I have to pay a bit for the enchantment but it's worth it I guess, since I never had the chance to use the money.

"Oh! Then what are you thinking of giving the Princess?" Ophelia asked excitedly.

"Mmm… oh!"I hit my palm with the but of my fist as I brought out an idea.

"What is it Sammy? Tell me! Tell me!"

With my expressionless face I looked at Ophelia "A necklace, but not just any necklace."

"Oh?" Penelope and Lennon are properly listening to me.

"I'm closing the details later"

That's when I got hugged by Penelope who's sitting beside me. She seems immersed in my words but then I cut it off, her hug is aggressive I… I am a bit hurt.

We had some small talks before finally getting to one of the owned residences of the Marquis, of course I got down the carriage first and held my hand out for Ophelia, the husband and wife can do that for themselves.

Well of course I was left behind to help with the luggage, I'm a servant after all.

After helping with Ophelia's luggage as that's what they gave me, I went to Ophelia's designated room. I'm pretty sure her maid, who's second most trusted other than me. Julie would be able to help with arranging these luggage.

I plopped down the luggage inside Ophelia's room in which Julie and Ophelia were waiting. The room is clean, pretty sure because it was cleaned in advance.

As I finished all the chores I was told to do and was left to do. I immediately went to the market, of course telling some adults before leaving.

I bought a few metal objects. With my current amount of money I left to pile up it was easy buying rare metals then and there.

Well I settled with a few Oricalchum as Mithril is more like a crystal rather than a metal.

After that I tried finding a good smithy, by the guide of Luna as she somehow knows the nook and cranny of this place.

"The metal shower, huh"

{Yeah, it's a good blacksmith}

"Well if you say so"

I walked in the smithy just to be met with looks from a man at the counter, I walked up to him, paper at hand and showed it to him.

"Can your smithy make this?"

The man at the counter raised his brow, and somehow a clear confused look is on his face.

"What… are ye an assassin or sum'thin?"

"No this is a size of a thumb"

I showed my thumb, it was a tiny thumb.

"This lookin like those eastern weapons if ye ask me"

"No it's not, you need a pointy edge for that"

"Err… fine, what material ye be using to make that?"

I placed the oricalchum on the counter, the man looked at it and back at me, he then placed a hand on his face and sighed deeply.

"Alright, alright. Here's the cost… when do ye need it?"

"By three days time, send it to the Marquis residence delivery on the name of Samuel"

I plopped down a handful of silver. Somehow it wasn't heavy for me, but oh well I paid the man at the counter and had a look at the papers I handed.

He looked apprehensive about making it but curiosity is also in his eyes. And when I left he placed the papers under the counter.

'Okay, Luna, now a good magic stone dealer, have you got any?'

{Hmm… maybe the adventurers guild, there might be some you could buy there, or the market, look for the outskirts on the left outermost though}

'Why there specifically?'

{I know in the game, The heroine managed to find a good stone there}

'Wait, now that I think about it… what does the Heroine look like?'

{Oh! Black lush hair and soft grey eyes, long lashes, chubby cheeks and soft plump lips}

{Wavy hair… and… }

'And what?'

{And she has a birthmark on her neck, it doesn't resemble anything though}

'Ah, alright, now back at it, what did the heroine find in the market?'

{A D-Rank magic stone, all the trader is selling D rank magic stones}

'Eh?, wouldn't it be hard to identify…?'

{The heroine has an appraisal so yeah}

'Eh…that's cheating'

{That's a game, this is a reality now, so don't be down you have the guild to appraise for that}

[Samuel, be careful someone is following you]

{...}

"..."

We stayed silent and I continued walking, when I got to the crowds in the market I immediately ducked and ran low.

"Ah! He's getting away!"

And as Markus said there was someone following me, but this Someone isn't just one. Noticing multiple presence I immediately knew I had to make a dash for it.

I don't know if they're hostile so I dashed myself making skilled maneuvers among the crowds I found myself running on an alley, hiding there I caught my breath.

"Ha… ha…"

I looked at the corner of the wall to look for those who's following me. Just to be surprised.

"My lady, why are you keen on following the young Butler?"

"I want to know what gift he's preparing!"

"'Eh… wouldn't you see that when he got back?"

"He's good at hiding things!"

Ophelia was spying on me, well I can somehow understand her because most of the time she got nothing to do.

But that doesn't mean I'll allow her though. So I walked off on the other side of the alley and proceeded to take a detour.

'This must be the left outermost area of the market right?'

{Yeah}

I looked around, yeah they sell things that most people would see in the inner market. I looked for the miscellaneous part of this market and there I found people selling magic stones.

"Hmm.. "

I looked around, there'd only traders who were openly selling magic stones. One might ask why I'm buying this.

It's because I plan to give the princess a light spirit on a necklace. It's a failsafe just in case I couldn't stop the poisoning, or either failed to give the elixir.

Since light spirit detests ailments it would definitely heal the princess of her poisoning.

And of course, we're using a magic stone to be the medium to call the light spirit and also to become its dwelling.

{You're making an Epic class item}

'Items have class too?'

{Yeah, the item you made is uncommon since it's easily made but it's not that accessible, there are 5 item classes, starting from Common, uncommon, rare, epic and then Legendary.}

'Why is the item that I'm about to make an Epic item?'

{Spirits that reside on an item are quite hard to find, you know? And mostly they're strong as heck and help the user of the item boost the affinity to the element they're aligned in, making them a cheat item}

'Wow'

Suddenly my intuition kicked in, it felt like if I don't do something right here I will regret it. With that feeling in mind I started looking around.

Then at the end of the street I saw a magic stone trader, sitting down with the stones lying around atop of a cloth.

It's nothing much, the magic stones looks like any other, but my instinct tells otherwise.

[Those… those Stones contains high concentration of mana]

'How could you tell?'

[Mana and aura are different, aura feels more like a presence made into a weapon, while mana feels like an amber of fire made of water]

'That's analogy makes my head spin, well whatever'

[Buy the top right one Samuel!]

'This one?'

[Yes!]

I chose a tiny stone on the top right as Markus is suggesting, nonetheless when I touched it I immediately felt the mana on the stone. The stone is no bigger than a nut.

"I'll get this one please"

The trader looked at me with interest in his eyes smiled a bit and then said

"That'll be four silver"

It's cheaper than it's supposed to be, I felt a bit guilty so I gave it five.

"hm? Ya gave me five kid"

"It's fine, the one is an extra payment so don't mind it"

I left just like that and went back to the Marquis residence. But before I could even go back, trouble sought me.

"Y-you dare do this in the capital?"

"Who cares? If I just pay the guards they would turn a blind eye anyways~"

A large man with a saber and his gangs are surrounding Ophelia and her maid, she didn't come here with an escort didn't she?

Please comment, it gives me motivation~
