9 Amy's Heart

The dress that Purple had chosen was, as she had predicted, gorgeous on Shera.

It accentuated her admirable curves and the high slit at the side revealed one of her long legs.

Most women would look overly seductive wearing such a gown but Shera managed to look elegant in it. No one seemed to mind that the gown was extremely revealing, because they barely realized it.

As she walked into the banquet hall in her high heeled sandals, she excuded the aura of a royal queen in every step she made.

The most surprising fact was that she looked like a gentle lady who, according to the guests present, was friendly in private but serious when at work, and was the epitome of beauty with brains.

Purple, who was beside her, heaved a secret sigh of relief.

As expected, she was right in her choice.

Now she only hoped that Shera wouldn't open her mouth.

Did you think Purple was here for any other reason?

It was to prevent Shera from talking. She would accept the toasts on behalf of Shera and pretty much say everything that needed to be said.

If Shera opened her mouth, one could bet that CT Corporation would lose all its business partners overnight.

One has to know that although the employees tolerated her weird temper, that was because she didn't often act up while at work. And if she threw a few fits, they were used to it.

But that couldn't be said about outsiders. If she said one wrong word, they would be displeased no matter how much they liked CT Corporation.

At the peak of the banquet, Shera suddenly took the mic.

Purple, who was speaking to a guest, rushed over, trembling. She whispered to ask, "Master, do you need something?"

Alas, Shera ignored her.

At this moment, the guests' attention had already been drawn.

Some of them even looked like they were witnessing something impossible.

"Finally, we get to hear President Turner speak." a man in his thirties exclaimed.

"I was starting to wonder if she was mute. I have never heard her speak before." another seconded.

At the side, Purple's hands were already sweaty.

Shera Black gave one of those sweet smiles before she proceeded, "I'm sorry, I did not make the opening speech..."

Purple was shocked. What? What did she just hear? Did the master just apologize?

What was wrong with her, did she eat something strange for lunch today?

Even Tazja, who had made itself invisible, was stunned. Finally, its master was taking the mission seriously.

Just a second before it added the humility points...

Shera continued, "I mean, anyway, did I have to? Why would I?"

Purple facepalmed. Master, that's now how you apologize!

Tazja: [Sigh, I should have known! Major Diable, hello... I want to forfeit this mission, sob...]

The guests were stunned. Their faces all went pale. What? What did she mean by that?

All the men who had idolized her felt their hearts crumble. This woman was beautiful but her mouth was anything but.

"Is that the kind of attitude a host should have?" A middle aged woman couldn't take this lying down. She was the CEO of one of the nation's top companies. How could a young woman, young enough to be her daughter, belittle her?

The other guests were of the same opinion. Some of them even made to leave.

CT Corporation was definitely going to lose many partners, if not all of them, overnight.

As if what she had just said was not displeasing enough, she continued. "After all, I only do things that please me, and speaking to normies is definitely not on that list..."

Purple couldn't take it anymore. If this went on, CT Corporation would be done for.

She took the risk and snatched the microphone and nervously said, "President Turner likes to joke around when she's drunk."

The hall went silent.

"Hahaha, so it's a prank. I was so shocked." A pot-bellied partner laughed.

The other guests were relieved too.

"So it's only a prank. President Turner is too funny."

"Hahahaha as expected of the youngest successful businesswoman. We old hags cannot compare to her wits."

Seeing that the guests were convinced, Purple wanted to mock them for their brainlessness. But they couldn't be blamed. It was only because they admired Arya Turner that they could easily believe any excuse made by her.

Since the crisis was averted, she held onto the mic awkwardly.

If she gave it back to Shera, this woman who liked to deliberately anger people might just do it again.

But, what if Shera had an important announcement?

As expected, Shera took back the mic.

She was done having fun so she simply went to the point. "On behalf of CT Corporation, I would like to use this chance to introduce a piece of jewelry."

She did not waste any time speaking of how it was made, where the stones were from, and all that. She considered it 'normie'.

Crap... fine. She just couldn't admit that she stole it from the Qin Empire, could she? Though with her personality, not only could she do that, the possibility of her doing it was pretty high. It must have just slipped her mind.

Soon, a man in black brought the jewelry case to the centre -- a very familiar scene.

"The following necklace is a valuable masterpiece, 'Amy's Heart'." She pulled aside the velvet cloth covering the display case.

In the next moment, a breathtaking necklace came into view, earning gasps from the guests.

Amid the gasps, a pair of guests whispered in displeasure.

"That damned woman! She actually sold the Heart of the Goddess to our rival company." Cece Qin hissed.

"Interesting." Leo Qin smirked.

"What's interesting? Brother, we should sue her. That's our product!"

"Quiet." Leo Qin snapped.

Cece was unhappy but she remained silent. Leo always knew what he was doing.

However this time, Leo Qin was deep in thought. So that woman, Shera Black, really stole The Heart of the Goddess.

Also, why was it that the high and mighty attitude of this President Turner was so familiar?
