Portal Opening Magic

'The Makhen witch clan line must continue. The wizard kingdom has given us a chance. We, who were as low as trash have been saved and equalized. Our crimes have been forgiven. We are forever indebted to His Majesty, the King. To the last drop of blood, we must carry out our duties.'

Helena's tears almost fell again. She was safe from the Ogxigs because most of them had fled, while the rest were being attacked by the soldiers.

"I need six people!" Helena said to Jenzigh quickly before stepping up and starting to draw something on the ground with her bare hand.

"I'll call them," Jenzigh replied, running into the spaceship.

Before long, six miners were taken prisoner by the soldiers out of the ship.

"Stand on every point of this hexagonal!" Helena ordered as she was standing outside the symbol.

Helena stood with her face to the two mining machines and back to the spaceships. Then, she bit her hands until they bled. Then she dripped the blood on every corner of the hexagonal symbol, right in front of her six offerings.

"Say that you are willing to sacrifice!" Helena exclaimed.

The six people looked at each other with frightened faces. Willing to sacrifice? They'd be crazy to say that. Fools would also know that sacrificing meant giving their lives to that powder-masked witch!

However, Jenzigh was not silent about it. The storm was getting closer. Then she shouted, "Quickly do whatever she asks! You will stay here and melt in the storm if you keep delaying!"

"Please say it. We have to get out of here right away. In the end, we will die if left here… in a painful way." Helena said.

The six people looked at each other depressingly. In fact, they had no idea what would happen if they did what the witch asked. But it was true that they would eventually die if they didn't.

This was like digging their own graves - tapping the angel of death on the shoulder - leading their own life to the gates of hell.

Even so, they would indeed die in the end - whatever decision they made. Yes, they were just prisoners. From the start, their lives were not their own.

Finally, the six people did as the witch ordered. When they said they were willing to sacrifice, Helena could feel it.

At the ship's door, Jenzigh watched the witch Helena perform a ritual she had never seen in her life.

"What is she doing?" asked Jaster who was standing beside his wife.

"You can see for yourself," Jenzigh smiled.

"I hope it is worth it. Looks like we're going to lose that witch. My precious asset.." The silver-eyed man muttered.

"I'm sure it will be very appropriate. The witch's price is nothing compared to my two mining machines. You know that," Jenzigh said.

"Everything you own is always more valuable than someone else's, isn't it?"

Jenzigh and Jaster turned their heads at the voice that came along with the tall man in purple. Of course, the only person who could say anything so rude to Jenzigh was his most unique son, Rohan.

"Seems like she's doing the portal opening ritual," Doma muttered. He also stood in the doorway, next to Edra.

Magic users were an extremely rare race. Seeing them perform any ritual was an expensive spectacle, especially the portal opening ritual which had been considered a legend all this time.

Helena was the pure successor of the witch Makhen clan. Within her clan, only she had the ability to open crossing portals.

After glancing at the approaching storm, Helena raised her hands in the air while casting spells.

Her tears ran down her cheeks. Regret and disappointment seemed to warp her soul.

'Brother, sisters, father, mother, ancestor... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.' Helena exclaimed painfully in her heart.

This was a portal opening ritual to take you where you want to be. However, this ritual was the most sacred ritual that even Helena had never performed in her entire life.

Supposedly, this ritual was only performed to serve the Wizard royal family. But now, she was doing it for the villains just to save her own life.

While chanting the incantation, Helena's eyeballs slowly rolled upwards until only the whites were visible.

Suddenly, the six offerings standing at each corner of the hexagonal screamed loudly. Their mouths were wide open with their faces looking up at the sky. The protective clothing they were wearing instantly shattered into small pieces.

Fresh blood spurted out of their open mouths like fountains. The blood spurted very fast and moved to unite in the air. Then the dark red liquid formed a large square symbol right in front of the mining machines.

The bodies of the six offerings dried up like tree branches in the dry season. Their bodies fell to the ground when all the blood in their bodies had been drained dry.

The eyes of all the spectators widened to see a huge portal formed from blood. The square symbol became a giant door that led directly to the centre of the parking space of the spaceship.

"That is indeed a magic door! Damn witch! She should have crossed us to this planet from the start without having to make the perilous journey by ships!" Jenzigh muttered.

"That's right. What a fool. Why didn't she open a portal that takes us all straight to planet Vaxer instead?" Edra added.

"The stupid ones are you, people. You don't know anything about that portal-opening magic. The further away you want to go, the longer it will take to create the portal and the more sacrifice it will require. Our time is too short that she could only open the crossing into the ship." Rohan said.

Jenzigh's brow furrowed. She turned to her son. "Wait a minute. You know that much detail about this magic?"

One of Rohan's eyebrows rose. "You think I'm making up stories?"

"You are a jerk guy, Rohan. Why didn't you say so in the first place so we could force that witch to open a portal to cross over to this planet?!" Doma growled.

"They can only open portals to places they've been before. She never set foot on this planet. After all, we didn't know that portal opening magic actually existed, did we?" Rohan replied lightly.

"The storm is drawing near. We'd better close all the windows." Jaster said before leaving to order the control centre to close all the windows. They no longer needed the guard of soldiers because the Ogxig was no longer in sight.

Rohan's eyes narrowed at the moving storm. The sun's light began to dim because it was blocked by the size of the storm waves that were in front of them.

The mining machine drivers depressedly drove the two big machines into the portal.

Meanwhile, Helena's hands kept shaking to keep the portal open and not shattered. This was her first experience doing this ritual and she had to build such a huge portal.

"Come on! Quick! Move!" Helena growled in her throat.

Her eyes continued to stare at the last machine crossing and the huge storm surge in front of her as if it were ready to devour her in a few minutes.

Once the tail of the machine had been entered, Helena immediately closes the portal with a closing ritual. She began to feel a stinging sensation on her skin because it turned out that her protective clothing had been eroded and had holes in some parts.

Every portal that was created must be closed with a closing ritual. If it was not closed properly or was accidentally destroyed, the spirit guardian of the portal would behead the maker of the portal.

The darkness seemed to almost devour her. The roar of the wind filled her ears. Helena chanted the last spell, then the portal finally closed tightly.

She immediately spun around to run from the storm to the spaceship for cover. However, her heart felt to explode when she saw the two large spaceships had flown away from her.
