Crackling~
Da da da da~
Heavy raindrops pounded the tent and the ground, the sheer force making it seem as if the tent might be overturned at any moment.
"God help me!" Qi Lin thought, his dark eyes gleaming with amusement. The sudden change in weather felt like divine intervention, perfectly timed to help him get closer to Wang Yunzhi. In the chaos, he secretly unfastened a few of the tent's ground buckles, ensuring that things would get even more interesting.
Hulala~
The next second, a strong gust of wind hit the tent, tearing half of it away.
"Ah!" Wang Yunzhi screamed as rain and wind hit her directly, soaking her clothes. Dressed in slim-fitting sportswear and white shoes for the hike, she shivered as the cold rain soaked through her outfit almost instantly.
"Qi Lin, what should we do? Our tent is blown away!" Wang Yunzhi panicked, holding herself in an attempt to stay warm.
Qi Lin was soaked as well but was secretly delighted by the turn of events. He put on a serious face and looked around as though assessing the situation. "Looks like the ground here was too soft to hold the tent properly. But your tent is still intact. Let's take shelter there."
Wang Yunzhi, relieved that her tent was still standing, eagerly agreed. "Okay! Let's go now!" she said, her teeth chattering from the cold.
The temperature at the mountain's peak had dropped sharply due to the rain, making every gust of wind feel even colder. Shivering, the two rushed through the rain, finally making it back to her tent. They climbed inside, escaping the wind and rain but still chilled to the bone.
"I-I'm so cold~" Wang Yunzhi muttered, hugging herself as she shivered violently. Though they were no longer exposed to the elements, the damp cold clung to them.
"Did you bring a change of clothes? You should really change out of those wet ones," Qi Lin suggested, trying to sound practical.
Wang Yunzhi shook her head with a bitter smile. "I only brought one set of clothes."
Qi Lin sighed. "I have clothes, but I left my bag in the other tent. It's probably soaked through by now."
Wang Yunzhi let out a small groan of frustration. "Forget it... I'll just try to sleep. Maybe I'll warm up that way."
Too cold and tired to think, Wang Yunzhi curled up in a corner of the tent, closing her eyes and trying to sleep. Qi Lin, meanwhile, quietly stripped off his own wet clothes, leaving only his boxer briefs. The cool night air stung his skin, but it was still better than wearing soaked clothes.
The sound of Qi Lin undressing caught Wang Yunzhi's attention. She opened her eyes slightly, glancing at him in suspicion, her heart racing. Alone on the mountain with him, she knew she was vulnerable. If Qi Lin had any ill intentions, there was little she could do to stop him.
But all Qi Lin did was settle down in the opposite corner of the tent, lying down quietly without a word.
Wang Yunzhi couldn't help but steal a glance at him. Despite the cold, his body seemed to radiate heat, steam rising from his skin as his body worked to evaporate the moisture. She blushed. His toned physique and the warmth he exuded were impossible to ignore.
Why is it so unfair? I'm freezing to death over here, and he's practically steaming! Wang Yunzhi thought in frustration. The temptation to move closer to his warmth nagged at her, but she resisted. I have a husband. I can't just crawl into another man's arms, no matter how cold I am.
Forcing herself to shut her eyes, Wang Yunzhi drifted into a light, uncomfortable sleep. But when a person sleeps, their willpower fades, and instinct takes over.
In her sleep, Wang Yunzhi unconsciously shifted closer to Qi Lin, seeking out warmth. Bit by bit, she moved toward him, and after about an hour, she ended up snuggled against his body.
"Hmm~ It's so warm… so comfortable…" she mumbled in her sleep, nestling into his chest like a koala, her arms wrapping around him instinctively.
Qi Lin had never actually fallen asleep. He'd been waiting patiently for this moment, knowing that eventually, Wang Yunzhi would seek his warmth. And now, here she was, cuddled against him, soft and vulnerable.
Looking down at her beautiful, delicate face, her trembling lashes, and her soft lips, Qi Lin smiled to himself. The allure of a mature woman is truly unmatched, he thought as he watched her sleep peacefully in his arms.
He leaned in, unable to resist the temptation any longer.
"Hmm~" Wang Yunzhi, half-dreaming, felt a warm sensation as if she were drinking a cappuccino. She responded naturally, unaware of what was happening.
Qi Lin paused, stunned for a moment by her response. He hadn't expected her to reciprocate even unconsciously. But then, his smile returned. She's even more responsive than I thought.
"Are you cold?" he whispered, softly pulling her closer. "Let me cover you with a warm quilt."
That night, Wang Yunzhi had a long, vivid dream. In her dream, she drank a cappuccino that tasted like jelly, and a handsome man brought her a warm, comforting quilt. The dream shifted, and the man invited her to the gym, where they worked out together—planking, squatting. Oddly enough, despite the exertion, she didn't feel tired. Instead, she smiled in her sleep, warm and content.
(now the question is... how? how she didn't wake up?)
