4 Chapter 4. Protect
Four days have passed
For several days now, Gray had been traveling to the Viridian Forest. During this time, he had managed to learn the approximate location of all the forest pokémon groups, the location of water bodies. He even managed to pet Oddish while he was drinking water. He smiled radiantly, and didn't seem to mind being touched by humans. Still, some pokémon aren't so aggressive. Some of them might reach out for a human themselves, but that depends more on their character than their species. Gray thought of catching it at first, but then scanned it and saw the poor talent, and decided not to take it for himself. Also, to evolve him into a Vailplume or Belossom, you'd need a Leafstone or Sunstone. And Gray doesn't have that much money. He doesn't have a single Pokédollar in his pocket.
"So, what kind of journey awaits me today? If you ignore the danger and the possibility of death, this world is quite beautiful" - Gray's gaze quickly rose to the bright sun.
"Someday, this sunlight will carry my greatness. If I choose to walk this dangerous road, I will either climb to the top or die on the way, but with no regrets. Gray was much calmer now than he had been during his first arrival in this Forest. Not to say that the experience had done him any good. During this time, he had entered many different berries into the chip's AI database, so now he could easily analyze them. Right now, he was eating Oran Berry. Gray liked its flavor. One time he was lucky enough to find a whole small tree of ripe fruit, so he gathered them into his backpack without a second thought. He decided that these were the berries he would feed his pokémon for the first time. After all, they were much more nutritious than ordinary leaves. In general, bug pokémon such as Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmle, Scatterbug, and Blipbug can get along and evolve without food. But then their potential would be very much depleted, and they would never be able to evolve into their final form. In pupa form, all of these pokémon don't have to move, but only continue to store energy for evolution, and the more energy you store in the first stage, the more of it will be in pupa form, which means the pokémon will take its final form faster.
As he went on his way, Gray tested the potential of the pokémon he met along the way.

But lo and behold, another day began to draw to a close, and Gray still hadn't met a single decent Pokémon.
"Most likely, if I continue like this, I won't even be able to meet a suitable pokémon. Right now, I'm very far away from the center of the forest. There are very weak pokémon living here, which means their offspring are also very weak. If I can find a suitable pokémon, at least one with green potential, then I can get out of this part of the forest right away" - Gray then began to make marks on the trees with his knife so that he wouldn't get lost in the dense forest.
As he walked further and further, he began to notice that the potential of the pokémon was gradually getting higher and higher. By now, every other pokémon had yellow potential, and some reached dark yellow. At one point, Gray noticed a male Nidoran pokémon that was a favorite of many players. His latest form of Nidoking is a monster, and if you manage to find a Nidoran with a hidden ability, and give it a Life Sphere, the resulting Nidoking turns into a killing machine for all pokémon.

As soon as Gray saw the characteristics of this pokémon, he immediately wanted to catch it. But he knew very well that Nidoran Pokémon always lived in a pack, and their protector was Nidoking, so he looked around and noticed a small cave that Nidoran Pokémon sometimes came out of. Gray squinted and noticed a huge purple shadow ahead of him.

Seeing the terrifying pokémon in front of him, Gray was glad he didn't act hastily and attack Nidoran. He wouldn't have gotten away with it after seeing such a pokémon. With quiet steps, so as not to disturb those pokémon, he moved away from the place. When he was far enough away, he began to memorize the path to the cave. He would surely come here for his own Nidoran in the future. For now, he continued his journey into the depths of the forest.
After two hours.
Gray still hadn't found the right pokémon. Or rather, there were options, but they were all protected by their parents, so there was no way he could catch them. Gray headed back out. There was a full moon tonight. The weather was warm, so he decided to spend the night by a small lake. During his days of observation, he had noticed that pokémon did not attack near the water, they all used it as a place to remove their thirst, so such places were relatively safe for daredevils like Gray. Perched on a thick branch of a low tree, Gray calmly watched the rare pokémon that came to get rid of their thirst. Laughing at the clumsy Pidgey who had inadvertently fallen into the water, Gray calmly began to contemplate the night sky full of shining stars. Closing his eyes and enjoying the sounds of nature, Gray heard a strong buzzing sound. He opened his eyes and noticed a large Beedrill putting something on the ground, not far from where he was. After waiting for him to fly far away, Gray walked over to the spot. On the ground he noticed a golden colored egg. Touching it, he felt the warmth coming from the egg and the faint thumps of a young pokémon that was still small but had already gained consciousness and was trying to get out of the egg.
"Eee chip, scan this egg" - If Gray remembered correctly, the Beedrill egg should be brown in color, but this one was golden.

He was about to carefully put it into his backpack when he heard a sudden movement from the bushes. Two snakes jumped at him with great speed.
"Ecans! They must have smelled the egg and decided to eat it," Gray didn't think and drew his knife sharply. There was no way he was going to let them hurt that egg. It was his ticket to a promising future.

"They are still young. A strong threat is the one who knows the bite. It must be destroyed as soon as possible. But I can't attack mindlessly either. I need to keep an eye on the egg." - Gray was analyzing the situation when the larger Ekans moved toward him with a sharp jump. To Gray's surprise, the jump wasn't that fast for him. He clearly managed to calculate the necessary direction and dodged, slashing at Ekans' eye in the process. Ekans hissed in intense pain. The eye had leaked out of the eye socket and the blood was gushing unceasingly. At that moment, a venomous sting flew at Gray from both sides. Gray managed to dodge one, but the second one hit him in the thigh. The sting hurt, but there were no visible signs of poisoning. The Ekans that had lost an eye attacked Gray again, while they fought, the second Ekans quickly crawled up to the egg. He noticed it and the movement and tore to protect it. At that moment, Ekans' mouth covered with Dark energy and he bit Gray's arm. The sharp fangs, enhanced with Dark Energy, penetrated the skin and muscle but lodged in the bones. Ekans quickly unclenched his jaw and recoiled. After losing his eye, he began to feel fear towards this man. feeling searing pain, Gray managed to get close to the second Ekans. He quickly grabbed its tail and started stabbing at the snake's body. The ecancer squealed in pain. At that moment, Gray felt a burning sensation in his back area. The one-eyed man used the poisonous sting again. Gray felt faint.
"Poisoning... I won't last long like this." - Gray looked at Ekans, whose life signs were very faint. Blood was pouring from all of his orifices nonstop.
"This one's already on the verge of death. It remains to get rid of the other one. "Gray turned around and with his remaining strength rushed towards the other Ekans. he also grabbed a pile of sand in his free hand to blind the snake's last eye.... Ekans continued to fire his venomous stinger. he hit Gray's arm a couple times, but he didn't stop moving towards him. Ekans was running out of energy and decided to run away. Gray decided not to catch up with him. After waiting for a while, he went back to the egg, which luckily was intact.
"Just try to be useless bitch, I will personally cook and eat you. I'm risking my life to save you." said Gray, but he also gently stroked the egg, checking it for any damage or scratches. After taking care of the egg, he began to examine his wounds. The poisoning was still in effect, but it wasn't as strong.
*The host's body has the initial skill of resisting the poison. The host body quickly produces antibodies, so the poisoning doesn't severely damage the host body... I recommend taking out the poison pouch from Ekans body, it will serve as a good food and with it, Weedle's poison will become stronger*
Gray began to cut up Ekans' body. A couple pieces of meat he immediately swallowed. A wave of coldness swept through his body. Leaving behind a slight numbness. He put the rest of the meat in his backpack.
*Because of the absorption of meat, the host's body regenerates quickly. It will take 7 hours for the wounds to heal.*
Taking the pokemon egg in his hands, he quickly headed to another location. The smell of blood would attract other pokémon. It wasn't hard to find a suitable place. He found a thick old tree, near a river. Using his backpack as a pillow, he lay down against the tree. Not far from him he saw two Oddish sleeping peacefully in the grass. Placing the egg on his chest, he gently stroked it until he himself sank into the realm of sleep.
