Chapter 79 :- They Appear Quite Formidable! 

Has Xiao Fan visited this particular police station before? 

Indeed, he has.

Xiao Fan is characterized as a 'blackened protagonist,' a term typically used to describe a character who starts off as exceedingly average and unremarkable, often referred to as a 'weak chicken.' 

However, upon undergoing a transformation known as 'blackening,' they evolve dramatically.

Upon hearing Hei Shuai's bark, Lu Yu instantly recognizes its significance.

Apologizing for the detour, Aguang explains, 

"I'm truly sorry, but the front entrance is overrun with monsters, necessitating our use of the back door."

Lu Yu responds with understanding.

Observing the pets, Aguang remarks, 

"Young man, your monkey and this dog…"

Lu Yu interjects, "I captured them along the way."

Aguang, impressed, comments, 

"You don't seem like an ordinary individual, do you? 

They appear quite formidable! 

Their presence might intimidate the other survivors if you were to bring them inside."

Lu Yu reassures him, "It's fine, I'll have them wait outside."

With a nonchalant air, Lu Yu instructs his pets, "Xiao Jin, Hei Shuai, stay here and rest. 

Do not follow us inside."

Baark!

Squeak!

Upon hearing the command, Xiao Jin and Hei Shuai simultaneously acknowledged with a bark and squeak. They promptly settled down in place, one squatting and the other lying flat on its belly, ready to rest as instructed.

Aguang observed this obedience with a surge of delight, pondering if Lu Yu's unassuming appearance belied a deceptive nature.

"Please accept my apologies; this is all in the interest of everyone's safety," Aguang expressed.

Lu Yu replied, affirming the police's commitment to public welfare, 

"It's alright, the police are here to serve the people."

While Aguang's attention was diverted, Lu Yu discreetly signaled to Dai Lian, who nodded in silent comprehension of the unspoken plan.

Unaware of this exchange, Aguang led the group through the door and deeper into the police station. 

They traversed the building until reaching the corridor that bridged the hall and the backyard. 

The corridor's entrance was typically breezy due to the temperature differential between the building's two sides, and this occasion was no different.

As Lu Yu entered the drafty passage, a gust of wind carried a distinct scent that caught his attention. 

It was the unmistakable odor of blood, yet unlike the foul stench that usually accompanied the blood of monsters, this scent was relatively untainted, suggesting it originated from fresh human blood. 

Has someone recently died here?

Aguang, too, detected the scent of blood, but his nose picked up an additional, peculiar fragrance mixed within. 

Though puzzled, he didn't dwell on it, as his priority was to escort the group to the lobby.

A minute later, they arrived at the police station's front yard. 

Contrary to expectation, the back door was situated on the side of the building, not directly behind it. 

Upon arrival, Lu Yu was confronted with a gruesome sight: a monster in the yard and the freshly deceased remains of a human, being devoured by several lizard-like creatures. 

The place was a chilling display of death and decay, with around twenty human skeletons strewn around. 

The strong smell of blood combined with the foul odor of exposed guts filled the air. The horrific sight and the pungent smell made Lu Yu and Wei Jianjun wince together. 

Wu Qiang turned pale, just managing to hold back the urge to vomit. 

Yan Yun and Dai Lian quickly covered their faces, turning their backs to the gruesome scene. Aguang, observing the group's reactions, showed a wicked smile. 

He pulled out his gun and pointed it at them, shouting, "What are you staring at? 

Go inside, now!" 

As they got closer to their destination, Aguang dropped his act, showing his real motives with a threatening action…

In Ah Guang's view, the two imposing figures were the most formidable members of Lu Yu's group.

 By positioning them near the back door, Aguang felt he had the situation under control. 

He was confident that regardless of the abilities of the remaining individuals, they would be no match for his gun. 

Indeed, Lu Yu and his companions, being mere humans of flesh and blood, were susceptible to bullets.

However, they had exceptional speed and reflexes. The moment Ah Guang showed his weapon, a sudden wave of dizziness hit him. 

When he regained his senses, the gun had already been snatched from his hand by a muscular figure. 

Almost instantly, he felt a strong grip around his neck. 

"Using firearms in my presence? 

Have you lost your mind?" the towering man mocked. 

Wei Jianjun, equipped with an ax, had quietly approached Aguang. 

Now, Wei Jianjun had Aguang in a stranglehold, pressing the muzzle of the gun against his forehead.

Staring down the threatening barrel of the gun, Aguang was completely taken aback. 

He was at a loss as to why he had suddenly felt dizzy or how his firearm had been snatched away in an instant. 

"Please… don't shoot!" Aguang begged. 

"Hold still, or I'll break your neck!" Wei Jianjun warned. 

"I won't move, I swear!" Aguang promised, paralyzed by fear and the overwhelming strength of Wei Jianjun's hold. 

"Dai Lian, does your poison work this fast?" Lu Yu's voice reached Ah Guang's ears, questioning about Dai Lian's poison. 

Dai Lian replied with a humble tone, "Oh, it's nothing. 

He must be feeling the effects more because he was smoking." Dai Lian's poison, which she breathed out, was not particularly strong at the moment and acted slowly on the awakened and monsters. 

It could be spread over a large area or directed with mental focus. 

However, the easiest way to deliver it was by directing the wind—a method taught to her by Chu Feng. 

Following Lu Yu's previous instructions, Dai Lian had deliberately moved closer to Aguang, causing him to unknowingly come into contact with the poison. 

Hearing Lu Yu's words, Ah Guang was shocked. 

Poison? 

The smell he had noticed earlier was poisonous? 

He had been poisoned, which caused his dizziness? 

What on earth was going on? 

Before Ah Guang could make sense of the situation, Wei Jianjun let go of his choking hold. 

"Don't even think about turning around, or you'll lose your head!" he cautioned. 

"Understood, understood!" Ah Guang stuttered in agreement. 

"Now, go open that door," Wei Jianjun ordered, quietly slipping the gun into his pocket. 

Aguang, a simple thug with no special abilities, was no match for the armed Wei Jianjun. He had no choice but to obey and follow the group. 

Lu Yu took back Wu Qiang's weapon and put it back into his ring, then followed behind the pair. They soon reached the main entrance of the hall. 

At Aguang's signal, the glass doors opened, revealing eight or nine intimidating figures. They were enjoying alcohol and cigarettes, filling the lobby with a cloud of smoke. 

As Lu Yu and his group entered, two of the men pulled out their knives and positioned themselves at the door, effectively blocking any chance of escape. 

Their eyes shone with hostility and malicious intent. 

"Leopard… Brother Leopard, I'm back!" Aguang announced. 

"Is this the 'best thing' you mentioned, Acheng?" 

Xu Bao asked, sensing something was off. Despite noticing that two members of the group were women and the three men were unarmed, Xu Bao remained unfazed. 

His gaze lingered on Lu Yu before settling on Yan Yun. Despite Lu Yu's efforts to hide her beauty with loose clothing and a mask, Yan Yun's natural elegance and the allure of her eyes were undeniable. 

Xu Bao was convinced she was a woman of extraordinary beauty. 

"Where's the monkey and the giant dog?" Xu Bao asked. 

"They are standing… outside," Aguang replied hesitantly. 

"Alright, we'll keep the women, and for the others—do as usual. 

Break their limbs, strip them, and leave them to fend for themselves," 

Xu Bao casually declared, used to such acts of robbery.

Apart from Wei Jianjun, who appeared to be a potential threat, the others seemed unimportant to him. 

Just when his minions were preparing to disable Wei Jianjun, Lu Yu intervened. 

"Are you not going to use firearms?" he questioned. 

"What?" was the bewildered reply. 

"If you don't employ firearms, you have no hope of defeating us," Lu Yu declared with assurance. 

"What are you implying?" Xu Bao asked, perplexed. 

"Old Wei, Wu Qiang, spare only two of them," Lu Yu calmly instructed.
