Chapter 17 :- Might of The Azure Sword

Swords are generally classified into three categories: soft, semi-soft, and hard. Soft swords are frequently used by martial arts experts, often seen on television. These swords are typically hidden within the waistband and are used against opponents when necessary.

However, their usage demands a certain level of expertise, making them difficult for the average individual to wield. Semi-soft swords, in contrast, are not commonly used by either professionals or laypeople. They are primarily used for performance purposes.

The third category, hard swords, includes Lu Yu's azure sword. These swords were traditionally used by ancient generals or soldiers in battle. The Qingshou sword, a type of hard sword, is characterized by its broad body and significant weight.

Lu Yu initially thought that his sword, despite having awakened, would not be particularly deadly due to the substantial amount of rust on it. Moreover, the small scales on the lizardmen's back suggested a decent level of defense. Therefore, he assumed that he would need to use his heavy sword to defeat the lizardman in their duel.

However, to his surprise, the sword proved to be incredibly sharp. It not only injured the Lizardman, but it also managed to cut it in half with a single stroke. Furthermore, it appeared that some of the rust had fallen off.

Upon realizing this, Lu Yu quickly struck his sword against the wall, causing more rust to fall off and revealing a brand new blue-black sword body engraved with the word '青燭'. A fleeting, quaint golden pattern also appeared on the sword.

Impressed by the sword's transformation, Lu Yu couldn't help but exclaim, "Good sword!" He felt that such a pristine long sword was indeed deserving of the term 'sacred soldier'.

He also thought that his previous efforts to Intimidate Xu Hao were unnecessary.

Upon hearing the sounds of combat, the middle-aged man from before returned and praised Lu Yu for his impressive feat of killing the monster with just two strokes of his sword. However, Lu Yu did not respond to his question or his praise, leaving the man feeling slightly embarrassed. Despite this, the man tried to lighten the mood by introducing himself as Liu Jian.

However, Lu Yu continued to ignore him and left to investigate the situation in other rooms. He had no interest in these strangers and was not inclined to team up with them for survival. His primary concern was improving his strength.

As Lu Yu continued to search for monsters on the floor, he found that most of the rooms with open doors also had open windows. Occasionally, a lizard folk or two would climb up. Lu Yu would then engage them in hand-to-hand combat, easily defeating them with his superior physical fitness and sharp green sword.

After a series of battles, Lu Yu discovered that the lizardmen were not as formidable as he had initially thought. Although they only possessed animal instincts and lacked intelligence, their scales provided a decent level of defense.

Even the Qingshou sword in his hand could only just manage to break them open, and it was impossible to kill a lizardman with a single slash.

Their weak points were located in their abdomen and neck. Only by attacking these areas could he achieve a surprising effect. Lu Yu realized that his ability to kill a lizardman with two slash earlier was due to him hitting its weak point.

After killing a lizardman, Lu Yu would immediately close the window to prevent the smell of blood from attracting other monsters. However, the intense combat required a significant amount of physical strength, and after killing the eighth Lizardman, Lu Yu began to feel physically exhausted.

He decided that he would need to rest after killing two more lizardmen. Despite the heat of September in the south causing him to sweat profusely, Lu Yu was determined to hold on. He knew that killing two more lizardmen would allow his sword to be upgraded.

However, just as he was about to continue fighting, he heard a flurry of footsteps from the corridor. It sounded like there were a lot of people, and he heard them shouting and screaming. Lu Yu realized that due to the cosmic storm, all electrical equipment had instantly stopped working.

After the monster invaded from the hotel gate, a large number of survivors could only run upstairs from the stairs.

Since the eighth floor was the top floor of the hotel, these survivors arrived quickly and in large numbers. Lu Yu couldn't go back and ask Yan Yun to open the door as soon as possible. He could only sheathe his long sword and follow the crowd into an empty room. The crowd poured in quickly, and in less than a moment, thirteen or fourteen people came in.

The originally spacious room suddenly became crowded. The door was slammed shut, and everyone quickly locked it. The man who closed the door was panting, and the whole person seemed to be collapsing. He leaned against the door, gasping for breath. Others also looked like they had survived the catastrophe.

Lu Yu glanced at them and saw that there were men and women, old and young in this group. But still mostly men. After all, men have a natural physical advantage over women. A thin man suddenly exclaimed, pointing at the corner of the wall. He was speechless.

Upon hearing his outcry, the rest of the group was filled with anxiety and quickly turned their gaze in the direction he indicated. What they found were two lifeless lizardmen, their bodies stained with blood, lying motionless beneath a corner curtain. The sight was enough to send a shockwave through the group.

The realization that these monstrous beings were no longer a threat did little to alleviate their unease. Instead, it raised a series of questions. How long had these creatures been lurking in their vicinity?

The mere thought of engaging such creatures in combat was enough to require a significant amount of bravery.

The fact that someone had managed to eliminate them at this juncture was nothing short of astonishing. Could it really be possible?

It seemed as though the majority of the group had arrived at the same conclusion, and they began to scour the room in search of any potential 'masters' who could have accomplished such a feat.

As their eyes darted from one individual to the next, a tall, slender young man suddenly let out an exclamation. Lu Yu, taken aback by the young man's greeting, responded in surprise,

 "Shi Lei?"

He then asked, "Boss, what brings you here?"
