Chapter 7

A minute later I regained control of my body and stood to my feet. What a powerful feeling. I am tempted to go again, but I have eternity to enjoy this pleasure. I fix my clothes and grab Tola's and wait for her to awaken.

A few minutes later her body loosens up and she stands before me. "That was amazing my Tola, now get dressed as we have things to do." "Of course my lord." After she gets dressed I fly back to the place where it all began while pulling Tola along.

We arrived at the battle site and I just stood there. I looked at the frozen bodies scattered around remembering the events that took place here. Tola stood at my side. "This is where it began. On this battlefield lay the fallen warriors of my KG and Valkyrie. They stayed knowing that death was the only outcome. I have never met a group of finer warriors then them. Yet here they lay. Tossed aside like toys. To be forgotten."

My rage, my hate. They died to an enemy they had no hope of defeating. And yet they charged. Onward they charged. They were my people, my family. "I will never forget them. They were the first of their kind. An elite group of warriors, never before seen. Not here, not anywhere on this accursed world. They will be the foundation of what I will create. They were the first. But they were not enough."

I stretched my power over the entire battlefield. Searching for my sword and shield. I found them, scattered around like forgotten toys. Eleven bodies flew towards me. Eleven of my finest. I sealed each body in stone coffins and they stood before me.

"Tola, there are many things that you will see. Things you thought impossible. Few will ever truly know of me. Of the man. Those back home will grow old and die. The new warriors I will create will not reach perfection in a single generation. It will take time to forge them into what I require. The KG will be my shield. The Valkyrie my sword. As you are the first of my creations, you must rise to new heights. No longer are you Tola, head maid of King Sveinn. But Lady Tola, the Emperor's hand."

She had tears in her eyes and made to kneel but I stopped her. "The hand of the Emperor does not kneel." She simply bows, "of course my Emperor."

With that we fly back to my fledgling castle. Once returning I spent my time teaching Tola everything I believe she needs to know. With heavy emphasis on combat. Fighting with weapons is pointless against vampires as nothing man made can kill them. So I tried to develop a style that focuses on hand to hand combat. It's a work in progress and still has room to grow.

The progress on my castle was slow going. I know nothing about castle building so I just wing it. I have a decent idea of the layout but it's slow going. I plan to enshrine the eleven coffins in the deepest part of the castle. A tomb for all the future fallen. Tola's training is going well. She is fast and agile. She lacks any technique but that will come in time.

It is the last day before we must return to our people and Tola and I are just walking along the mountain enjoying the northern lights on a full moon. It was at this moment that something entered my telepathic range. "Something is near, I have never experienced anything like it before. It's fast and heading our way." Tola calmly faced me. "Do we run or fight?" She asks but the excitement in her eyes betrays her.

"We fight, but do not get complacent with your current achievements. You have only just started your training. The only reason why I am allowing you to stay is because you are a new blood and have tremendous strength."

We ready ourselves but don't have to wait long. Rushing into the open is a beast I thought I would never see. It stopped once it saw us and stood on its hind legs examining us. It stood seven feet tall and exuded an aura of savagery.

"Roooooooooooaaaaar!" It roared a roar so bestial and filled with blinding rage as it leapt at us. I used my telekinesis to throw Tola a good distance away from the beast. 'Do not try to help, it will destroy you with ease. Just stay vigilant in case another shows up. If that happens then run as fast as you can.' After sending that telepathic message to Tola I put my full attention on the beast rapidly approaching.

It moved at insane speeds and as it neared I couldn't help but smile in anticipation. "Don't disappoint me dog!"

Once in range it swiped its clawed hand towards my head attempting to decapitate me. I ducked its attack and punched its midriff and stepped away. Good thing I did as the attack did little to no damage to the beast and I barely avoided its ferocious maw from taking a bite out of me.

It crouched and exploded forth with such speed that I barely saw its movement. I put up my guard as a clawed hand slammed into me sending me flying. I crashed into multiple trees leaving a trail of destruction.

Quickly rising to my feet I have just enough time to leap away from the charging monstrosity. As it sailed by I charged it. I landed heavy blows upon its body but the damned thing seemed unfazed. I landed a right hook snapping its snout to the side but the thing turned back toward me and roared.

It's swings were wild and it seemed to lack any calculated thought but I would not underestimate it. I went in and out, bobbing and weaving as the beast seemed to grow more insane. As I dodged another swipe it suddenly exploded into motion catching me off guard and slamming it's heavy hand on my head.

I was momentarily stunned and I paid the price. It clamped it's jaws on my arm and in mere moments tore my arm from my body.

"Ahhhhh!" The beast gave me no time to recover as it landed strike after strike looking for an opening. Not as mindless as I thought. Boom Boom Boom, screeech. It landed three lightning fast strikes before racking its claws across my chest.

I tried to create some distance but the beast would not relent. I would not dare turn my back and try to run. Despite its size, it was capable of explosive speed from a single leap which would leave me without a head. I did not panic, I just studied the beast. Learning it's limits.

The times I could strike back were few. But I could tell it was beginning to slow. It might not register pain in it's crazed state, but it's body cannot lie. The quivering of its muscles. That slight hitch in it's shoulder as it winds up another strike. The sweet sound of tearing muscle.

We faught till dawn, and left nothing but absolute destruction in our wake. If a human saw the current state of the landscape, they would think that an air strike was recently called down.

I was not in great shape. I was missing chunks from my body. Hah, you could even see cracks all over my torso. But I was not worried, oh no. I had the beast now. It has reached its limits. Though it's rage had not dimmed, it's body had all but gave out. Now was my time. I looked it in the eyes as it feebly tried to finish me off.

In it's mind numbingly insane yellow eyes I saw my reflection. I saw my face and the crazed smile that marred it. It was time to put this dog in its place.
