Several days passed without Viggo and Rosewisse talking to each other. She always avoided him and Viggo couldn't do much if she flew away. So, Viggo concentrated on continuing to learn with his father about skill-enhancing rings. In that time a week passed and when Viggo was able to make his first ring, he put it away and thought about giving it to Rosewisse as an apology.
That day Viggo returned to his mother's mansion at about six o'clock in the afternoon. He searches for Rosewisse all over the mansion, but he couldn't find her. Then he went to the rooms and started hitting one by one. Semiramis and Scheherezade had not arrived, and the twins had just arrived and were taking a shower.
So Viggo went to Hitomi's room and knocked on the door. From inside a calm and polite "pass" was heard. Viggo walked in and saw one of the guest rooms with the bed tidy. The windows facing the courtyard were open and the curtains fluttered in the wind. At the back of the room was a desk and Hitomi was sitting, her head down and writing something on a piece of paper.
-Permission, Hitomi- said Viggo and walk in her direction.
Hitomi showed a small smile, kept writing, but said -no problem What can I do for you Mr. Viggo?-
-Have you seen Rosewisse?-
-Ooooh, I don't believe it, I don't believe it, at all, never, ever in life. I remember someone as a spawn, but I don't think we're talking about the same person-
Viggo frowned upon hearing such words, but when Hitomi raised her face and smiled jokingly, he understood better. Rosewisse was somewhere nearby. Hitomi with the pen in her right hand, pointed at the ceiling, and Viggo nodded silently. He walked quietly to the window, went out to the balcony, and jumped to the ceiling. Rosewisse was sitting on the roof, the sun was shining over her head and her beautiful white wings were shining. She was going to get up, but Viggo took a quick step by breaking some shingles in the process and came to her side. He takes her wrist, and she looked him in the eye.
Rosewisse let out a sigh and asked -What do you want? I don't have time for you-
-You must be very busy- Viggo said in a mocking tone. Rosewisse frowned and looked at him angrily, but Viggo only showed a reconciling smile and she looked away, angrier with herself than with him.
Viggo sat next to Rosewisse, took the ring out of the leather bag, and held it out to him -my first achievement. It's not the big deal, but it can regenerate your physical stamina a bit. That means you can run for more hours-
Rosewisse took it and looked at the ring. It was a rustic and graceless thing. Metallic in color with a green stripe in the center, product of several small characters joined. Then she returned it to Viggo, and he took it somewhat bitter inside.
-I wanted you to have it, you know, to apologize- Viggo said.
-Do you even know what you're going to apologize for?- asked Rosewisse on the verge of fury.
-Yes, well, I was thinking while practicing with Dad and I remembered that a long time ago you told me that your parents died. Then I understood why you were so angry with me. Honestly, I've always been the same with Dad. He tolerates me and always tells me he loves no matter what I do-
-You're lucky- Rosewisse said, her eyes red. Then she began to sob and Viggo stood there, letting her occupy her shoulder. Half an hour passed in silence until Rosewisse said -I want to go back to Midgar-
Viggo froze for a moment, wanted to yell at her that his misunderstanding had nothing to do with going to die in an empty place, but he took a deep breath and asked calmly -Why?-
However, his question was not answered.
-Just because you're mad at me, doesn't mean it's a better idea to go die on your own- Viggo said.
-I-
-What do you have in Midgar?-
Rosewisse remained silent, her head resting on Viggo's shoulder. The wind passed swaying the trees around the house.
-Rosewisse, stay, don't go to die in a lonely place, I ask you. You are my friend, I will take care of you, I will help you in whatever it takes. Grandpa came the other day and is going to take us to Muspelheim. I know you want to know what happened to the Valkyries, but if you become strong you can make that easier and without running so many dangers-
-Did you really care?- asked Rosewisse in a whisper.
-Yes, I care about you, don't go. Wait for me, we will go together, if we find Thor we will beat him-
-Can I trust you?-
-Yes, I may be the fool, but I would never turn my back on my friends-
-Thank you, Viggo- Rosewisse whispered and hugged Viggo's arm. The latter rested his cheek on Rosewisse's head, and they stayed that way for hours until the sun went dark. The wind began to blow harder and as they were more than six meters from the ground, the cold reached them. Viggo was immune to this level of cold, but Rosewisse didn't remember it. So, she occupies her white wings to surround him.
-Having wings is convenient- Viggo said with a smile.
-Sometimes, when you want to protect yourself from the cold, it's the best- Rosewisse replied -also when you don't want to look at the world or want to keep fighting-
-Maybe, but I also think they should be useful to fly. Being able to reach the top of the sky and see everything as if you were an omnipotent god, must be great-
-Not so great-
-It's great-
-Already, in that case, we are going to take a fly-
-Ugh- Viggo said as if something went wrong with his stomach.
Rosewisse let out a chuckle and said -you see, it's not that great-
-No, it's great- Viggo insisted -if you want to... well, we can go for a fly, just be careful about colliding with the tower of Babel or flying too low-
-Don't worry, I'll keep it in mind- Rosewisse said, she stood up and stretched out her hands. Viggo also stood up, let out a sigh, and stood in front of her. Rosewisse hugged him from behind, clasping her hands together to reassure him that she would not let him fall. Viggo looked at the space ahead. Orario had darkened and from this height the streets could be seen outside the grounds of his mother's mansion. You could see the lampposts lit and the trees waving in the wind.
Rosewisse took a powerful leap that broke more shingles in that sector of the house and shot into the sky. Viggo unconsciously clung to Rosewisse's hands. The latter began to flap, rising higher and higher until it reached the height of the tower of Babel. On the horizon were the last rays of light and an orange sun about to hide.
Rosewisse continued to flap and maintain the same height, hugging Viggo from behind and looking at the lands that stretched outside Orario.
-Rosewisse, why don't we go down?- asked Viggo.
-Why?- asked Rosewisse with a mocking smile -it's a wonderful sight-
-Yes, I know, but it's very high-
-Are you afraid? I thought you trusted me?-
-of, of, of course I trusted you, but everyone makes mistakes. There is only a small moment left and I could fall, unintentionally, of course-
-Like now?- asked Rosewisse and let go of her grip on Viggo. The latter fell at a great speed releasing a terrifying cry that was heard all over Orario. Of course, Rosewisse knew that this was going to happen, she also knew that no matter what, Viggo would not die from this height. She just wanted to teach him a good lesson to stop being an ass with his father. She swooped down and caught up with Viggo, who kept screaming. She hugged him once again from behind, moved her wings, and began to glide to rise again.
-Damn you, Rosewisse- shout Viggo angrily -when we go down, I'm going to tear you feather by feather-
-Really?- asked Rosewisse in a mocking voice -then I better drop you– and she let him go again. Viggo continued to fall and scream in horror. Rosewisse laughed and swooped again until she caught up with Viggo, held him from behind and they planned again -Do you still want to take my feathers off?- she asked.
-No, no, never, never in life- said Viggo, trying to hold on to Rosewisse's hands.
-That's better- Rosewisse said, and she began flapping her wings to grab height. She flew towards the tower of Babel and when he reached the top, he descended gently. Viggo threw himself on the rocky surface, he was never so happy to step on mainland.
Rosewisse stared at Viggo and folded her arm as she looked into the distance.
Viggo calmed down and when he stood up, he looked at Rosewisse with a frown -why did you do that?-
-It's your lesson, stop being an idiot with your father-
-I...- said Viggo furious with Rosewisse, but he took a deep breath and nodded. Although he was upset, he accepts that she was a little right, but to do this to him. Viggo turned his back to her and looked at the horizon.
Rosewisse again approached Viggo, hugged him from behind and although she felt that he became tense, he did nothing to defend himself. However, she didn't do anything either, just hugging Viggo, feeling his skin heat -Viggo- said.
-Yes?- replied Viggo more relaxed.
-You're an idiot-
-I know, you're not the first to tell me. Since I was a child, I have been problematic-
-You still are-
-I know, I can't help it-
-No problem, I'll take care of you-
-I, well, I don't know...-
-It's Okay if you don't know. It's okay not to know things. It's not about being good at this or that. In the end, even if you are not so good at magic I don't care. You are a great person; you are someone warm as the sun. I like the sun, it's so good and friendly. That's why I believe my magic blessing of the sun. When I lost everything, only the sun was there to brighten my day. I love the sun, I love Viggo-
Viggo turned around and looked into her eyes. Rosewisse, with her long silver hair waving in the wind, her blue eyes stared at him with a hint of sadness. She offered him her lips and closed her eyes. Viggo brought his lips closer and kissed her as delicately as possible. They kissed for a couple of minutes and then hugged. An hour passed and they separated for a moment. Then they sat at the top of the tower of Babel and looked at the horizon until the sun completely hid and only the darkness of the night remained.
Both were leaning shoulder to shoulder while Rosewisse occupied his wings to wrap Viggo so that he was not cold.
Viggo looked at the stars in the sky and the beautiful waning moon -the night is not so bad; it has a silver moon. I like the moon, I like Rosewisse. Sure, I don't like that dark part that lets me fall from the sky, but I like Rosewisse-
-I'm sorry, but you deserve it. Not everyone has your luck- Rosewisse said -if you get mean to your family again, you'll have more equal trips. Maybe one without rescue-
-Do you want to kill me?- asked Viggo frightened.
-Of course, not silly, just punish you. Someone who received Thor's hammer and survived, would not die so easily-
-You are like the moon, shrouded in darkness, you are evil-
-Yes- Rosewisse said very proudly -I'm bad, so behave well, boy sun-
-You'll see, somehow, I'll get revenge-
Rosewisse showed a big smile as she looked at the Orario city illuminated by the lampposts and lights of the houses -I'm waiting for it- said.
