VIGGO - ING. VERSION

Viggo, son of Hephaestus (Goddess of forging in Orario) and Kain (Ancient Scion of Balance), was born as a demi-god. However, with a defeat and the inability to strive for a goal in life, he is sent to train with a furious master. Accompany Viggo on his path to becoming a god. "Don't be sorry, be better". This fanfic was born as a Spin-Off of the Original fanfic "Suerte y Perseverancia" also written by me and currently in broadcast. Clarifications: I have been accused of being sadistic with my readers, but I will deny such observations. What happens is that I don't give all things on a silver platter to my protagonists; everything is won. On the other hand, sometimes it just happens that situations do not go as you want. However, that is where the magic of a protagonist lies, in knowing how to move within the parameters and look for solutions with the tools he already has. Believe me, I will never screw my protagonists if it is not to make them better and more powerful. PS: THE IMAGE IS ONLY REFERENTIAL.

Midgar and the Temple of Tyr 2.279

Viggo returned to Midgar with Rosewisse and Brunnhilde after completing his affairs in Niflheim. At that time, they did not see Brok in the anteroom of the temple of Tyr, so they continued to advance until the exit. Viggo stuck his fingers through the indentation that formed between the two doors and opened them sideways in one fell swoop. On leaving, they felt a pleasant change. No more deadly fog (for now) and no more absurd cold Helheim. Ahead of them they saw the bridge connecting the temple of Tyr to the mainland, but they also saw a tattooed, bald, bearded man next to a child carrying a quiver and a bow.

Viggo looked at Rosewisse, she nodded, and he walked ahead as she took care of Brunnhilde and explained the situation.

—Master, Atreus— Viggo said forcefully as he went. At the same time Kratos turned around and looked at him with the same face of few friends ever but examined him when he saw the beautiful armor he was wearing. Atreus also turned around and showed a huge smile but was more fascinated by the armor Viggo was wearing. However, the latter stopped when he noticed what was hanging from Kratos' back. That was undoubtedly Mimir's head, but he should be tied to a tree. Viggo let out a sigh and walked over without much energy, this would be for long.

—How are you?— asked Viggo.

—Brother, what is that armor?— asked Atreus, surrounding Viggo's eyes as his eyes shone —it's super cool—

—Right?— asked Viggo with a big smile, looking at his master.

Kratos approached Viggo, took his fist and tapped him on the breastplate —good armor, boy— he said.

—Thank you master, I see you met the self-proclaimed wisest man in the Nine Realms— said Viggo with an awkward smile —tell me, Mimir, can you still consider yourself the wisest among the living?—

—Your jokes still bore me, young Viggo, I'd like to meet your parents to have a word or two with them— replied Mimir, hanging from Kratos' belt.

—Yes, of course—

—Hey, brother, did you know Mimir yet?— asked Atreus, standing in front of him.

—Sure, we met him a couple of years ago. Of course, he introduced himself as "Mimir, the wisest man in the Nine Realms" and without any sense of modesty despite being tied to a tree—

—Well— replied Mimir in an annoyed tone of voice —I may be a man tied to a tree or now a mere head, but I am still wise. At the same time, you may have grown up, but you are still an insolent brat—

—Enough— Kratos said in a firm tone of voice, looked at Viggo, and asked —What are you up to?—

Viggo looked at his master who was looking at him seriously, but Viggo was already anesthetized against that expression, so he remained calm and replied —well, you see, we walked through several realms and my wife defeated the Valkyries. So, now we go to the Rocstoll aff valkyrs and try to summon the queen of the Valkyrie, Sigrun—

—Is that true?— asked Mimir, everyone looked at him, but then ignored him.

Viggo looked back at his master and continued —so that, hey, just in case you haven't seen some dragon roaming Midgar—

—Several, brother— replied Atreus instead of Kratos —father beat one a couple of hours ago—

Viggo looked at Kratos and nodded —I thought you'd be rusty, but it seems like riding a horse, you never forget—

Kratos let out a growl by way of confirmation.

—Hey, brother, brother— said Atreus super excitedly —I bet you don't guess, I'll bet you whatever you want—

—What are we betting?—

—Eeeeeh, I don't know— replied Atreus.

Viggo and Kratos let out a laugh and shook their heads.

Viggo looked at Atreus, the boy was eager to be the center of attention, so Viggo went with the flow —ok, if you surprise me, I'll let you drink something amazing, it's called estus— he said.

—I don't know what it will be, but here it goes— said Atreus —I am a god—

Viggo was calm, gave Kratos a brief glance, and he nodded. Viggo looked back at Atreus and replied —That's great, what is your power?—

—Eeeeh, I don't know yet, but Mimir said it may be languages. Although of course, it's not that great—

—Oooh, little brother, no matter the power, what matters is how you occupy it. Imagination is the limit and knowing how to communicate with others can open tremendous opportunities. Imagine that suddenly just because you don't know how to read something, you miss an opportunity, don't you think that would be a shame?—

—I suppose— replied Atreus, looking away with a confused expression.

—Well, don't worry, you'll understand and see that your power is cooler than it looks—

—Are you a god too?—

—You could say, I can see things—

—Things like what?—

—The future, at a distance and see what will happen a few seconds in advance—

—Woooow— said Atreus —that's a great power—

—For now, there's little I can do, but I'm working it—

—Mmm, I wish I could say the same—

—Come on, Atreus, don't be discouraged— said Viggo, he crouched down and their eyes coincided, —you're a boy, you're ten, right?— Atreus nodded and Viggo continued —I didn't have my divinity at your age and look where I am. I'm seventeen years old, when you're seventeen and you haven't been able to do anything great with your divinity, worry about it—

—Okay, that's fine with me— replied Atreus, looking into his eyes with a big smile.

Viggo reached through the bag he had crossed to his chest and took out the bottle of estus. He took off the cork, but before offering it to Atreus, he looked at Kratos —Is it okay?— he asked.

—You were going to do it anyway, weren't you?— replied Kratos.

—Come on, don't be grumpy, you already have enough wrinkles on your forehead—

—Boy— Kratos said with a frown.

—Yes, I know, I know, talk more than necessary—

—It seems that the head is right, no matter the years or what you grow, you will always be a brat—

Viggo held out the bottle to Atreus and the latter received it, looked inside, smelled it, and licked his lips. Then he took a long sip and pushed the bottle away from his mouth. He licked his lips, looked at the bottle, and then held it out to Viggo.

—It was delicious, thank you— said Atreus.

—You're welcome, little brother, I wish I could give you more, but that's all I have left—

—What is that, boy?— asked Kratos.

—It's called estus, heal wounds, restore soul strength and mana, do you want to?—

Kratos nodded, Viggo got up, held out the bottle to him, and Kratos took the bottle. He drank a long sip and was surprised at the taste. Kratos pushed the bottle out of his mouth and held it out to Viggo —it's not sweet— he said in confusion —I can't tell, but it's good—

—Right? I'm glad you like it—

—Regarding the dragon, we killed it a couple of hours ago. I think his corpse should still be on the mountain—

—Brother, we're going there, why don't you come with us?— interjected Atreus.

Viggo looked back, saw Rosewisse and Brunnhilde.

—I think matters with the queen can wait, the ingredients for the estus are important— Rosewisse said.

—Really?— asked Kratos.

Viggo and Rosewisse looked at the tattooed man and nodded at the same time —it takes a dragon corpse to process the estus— they responded at the same time.

—You guys have good chemistry— Mimir said with a big smile on his lips.

—Thank you— Rosewisse and Viggo said again in unison.

That last one made Atreus laugh, but suddenly he remembered something and approached Rosewisse —sister, do you remember the promise?—

—Atreus— Kratos said with a frown.

—It´s okay, master, it's a matter between him and Rosewisse— said Viggo —let him learn to ask for things—

—I remember your promise, but first you must talk to your father— Rosewisse said with a broad smile —it's all a matter of doing things with respect—

Atreus frowned, looked back, and saw his father with an expression of few friends. Atreus let out a sigh, walked to Kratos and asked —Father, will you give me permission?—

—Mmmm, remember to thank Rosewisse—

—Thank you— said Atreus with a broad smile and immediately approached Rosewisse.

—Very well— said Rosewisse, she looked to Viggo for him to accompany Brunnhilde. Viggo nodded and she looked at Atreus —you must turn around—

—Turn me around?— asked Atreus curiously.

—Yes, you'll see why. Don't worry, no matter what, I won't let go, so you must trust me—

Atreus nodded, Rosewisse stopped behind him and hugged him. She looked at Viggo and Brunnhilde to get them to move away. They did so and only then could Rosewisse spread his long wings covered by the bulky golden armor of the Valkyries. She took a big leap, soared, Atreus let out a scream and she continued to flutter to gain height.

—Come on, Atreus— shouted Viggo, forming a cone with his hands —don't be afraid—

—Don't worry, brother— said Mimir —that girl is a good person, I met her years ago and I can tell you she hasn't changed—

Viggo looked at Kratos who was looking at the sky with a frown, arms crossed, and hands clenching his forearms. He was really afraid that something would happen to his son.

—Don't worry, master— said Viggo —it's not the first time Rosewisse has taken someone—

Kratos gave him a glance, nodded, and let out a faint growl in response.

While Rosewisse and Atreus flew over the Lake of the Nine Realms while the great serpent of the world watched them from a distance, Brunnhilde watched the spectacle and smiled at seeing Atreus let out nervous giggles that, at the same time, reflected his happiness. That child she had just seen seemed so happy.

—You can now fly on your own, you can't ask Rosewisse to take you— Viggo murmured playfully.

Brunnhilde looked to the side and stared at those blue eyes. She looked down and blushed like a tomato.

Viggo chuckled and then watched as Atreus went from being afraid to having fun flying at high speed. He was surprised that, for a child, he was braver than him.

After a couple of minutes, Rosewisse descended with Atreus in his arms and lowered him to the ground.

—Thank you, sister— said Atreus with a huge smile —it was the coolest thing I've done so far—

—Mmmm, in the morning you said our trip was the coolest thing— Kratos said.

Atreus looked at his father, looked down and blushed, causing everyone to let out a chuckle.

—Well, since we're having fun, shall we go to the mountain?— asked Viggo —we'll just accompany them to the region where they left the dragon's corpse—

—Come on, I have many things to tell you— said Atreus, approaching Viggo —to begin with, you know, I am a friend of the serpent of the world—

Kratos watched his son and his stupid disciple converse as if they were brothers, something that gave him a relief since the boy was not alone. At least, Viggo seemed to care about Atreus and although Kratos forbade him to see his family, Viggo managed to get that primordial old man to bring things to Atreus all the time.

—It's good to have friends, isn't it, brother?— asked Mimir, but Kratos only responded with a slight growl and advanced ahead leading the group towards the mountain of the Jotun, in the southeastern region of the Lake of the Nine Realms, where the shrine and former prison of Mimir was.
