"Success. You have gathered parts for Genesis Rise. You can create a new life once per day with adequate parts. Success rate with current parts, 0%. Gather more for a higher rate."

Emi's eyes widened. The screen told her she could create a life. The skill, Genesis Rise allowed her to create a new life from scratch. This was an opportunity she never dreamed she could have. Making a golem was one thing, but a new life, possibly a Makaizer, was the greatest gift she could ask for.

Emi shook off her excitement for a moment. She wanted to check on Vice and make sure he was ok. A violent attack like that, he must still want to kill if he hasn't calmed down yet.

Emi slowly walked over to Vice, her hand trembled at the idea of touching him in his current state.

Vice turned around quickly, his bright red eyes still glowing. Emi reached out to him to caress his head again like she did before, her gentle touch soothed his rage. The red eyes turned back to their golden color again. His sword dissipated back into the black sphere it came from.

"It's ok Vice. It's ok now. It's dead. You killed it." Vice was calmed now. He could see Emi's face clearly, his bloodlust had subsided.

"Let's go home Vice. I'd really like to put on some normal clothes now."

Vice understood. He grabbed Emi once again, and they both teleported back to her dorm room in a flash.

"I don't think I'll ever get tired of that. Can we teleport anywhere Vice?"

"Unfortunately no, I can only teleport us to areas you or I have already been to previously. My skill with teleportation is limited as Martial Skills and Destruction Spells are my specialty."

Emi understood. Vice was made to be a destroyer, other spells or skills would be useless to him. Emi let out a heavy sigh, she felt relieved to be back. She went to her dresser to grab her nightgown, finally wanting out of the towel. Before she took it off, she forgot Vice was still in the room. Her face blushed when she turned to look at him.

"Umm Vice, can you turn around? It's very embarrassing for you to see me like this."

Vice tilted his head, Emi through a book at him. Since she couldn't use the gun, she figured anything else would work.

Vice didn't move but realized she wanted privacy from the book-throwing. Vice sat down in one of the chairs, then shut himself down for the night.

Emi sighed, she felt relaxed now to change. The warm blankets felt great on her. The first time she had bedding this nice and warm since she was a kid.

Emi raised up her left arm, she stared at the bracelet and tattoos on her. It felt weird actually seeing it now, she didn't recognize the rune designs still even after carefully taking notice of every inch of it.

She let out a yawn and tried to sleep, her eyes looking at Vice as she slowly fell asleep.

Emi tried to rest, but trauma doesn't allow someone to sleep comfortably whenever they want. Since the attack on her home, she has always had nightmares about the massacre of her home, the body parts and blood everywhere. Her father tried to save her, her mother, and Ramírez back then. It was always the same.

Emi's father would put up a good fight but he still would be butchered horrifically by the Strayers. Her mother led them to a cellar she poured all her magic into so nothing would enter it. The smile Emi's mother made, shielding the door with her body as it was being ripped apart, she knew she was going to die but Emi could tell she was happy that Emi and Ramírez survived.

The same events would play over and over again in her head. She wanted to scream again but bit her lips from habit thinking back to when her boss would slap her awake from disturbing his sleep with her cries.

The nightmare continued till it finally changed, Emi now saw herself not in a slaughter anymore. She was sitting down in her old home, at the table with her father who was polishing his sword. Her mother bringing breakfast to them.

Emi never had this dream, even when she bought pills to help her sleep this never happened.

"Emi, what's wrong have you grown tired of my cooking already?" The voice of her mom. It had been so long since she heard it.

"She doesn't want it I'll take it hehe." Her father's voice, the strong but joking nature he had used to have in his tone.

Her mother sat down at the table, her father grabbed his plate quickly to gorge on the food. Emi could feel tears down her face, her mother noticed her crying.

"What's wrong Emi, are you sad?"

"Ha, she's probably crying tears of joy from how good your food is haha."

Everything was like it was. Her parents were exactly how she remembered. Emi couldn't help but cry more.

"I missed you."

"Hmm. What's that sweetie?"

"I missed you two so much." Emi couldn't help but let out a wail. Her mother started rubbing her head, humming to her like she did when Emi was young. Her father smiled at her putting on a strong face

Emi's eyes opened, and she saw Vice standing over her, his hand over her head emitting a light.

"Vice, what are you…"

"You were in pain. I'm healing your pain Emi." Emi teared up again. She held the hand over her head as she fell back asleep.

"Goodnight Vice."

"Goodnight Emi."
