Chapter Seventeen [ Blood Washes It Away ]
Imitations were still imitations no matter how perfected. The Gods teared through the creations with an effortless ease , however though they were easily defeated their numbers were difficult to overcome. Attempting to dodge contact from them whilst being constantly surrounded , no matter much was defeated , was becoming an exhaustion. Everyone had to be extremely vigilant and no one could afford to lend a helping hand , this was a fight to be had alone without companions . The robots created long echoing clangs as they fell one by one against the marble floor. Soon enough however, their large numbers had aided them in pushing together the Gods that had been separated fighting in the midst back to back . Poseidon thinking quickly sealed them away by a wall of rushing water .
" Those numbers of theirs don't seem to be dwindling down at all , despite how many we have slayed. Hestia ,Hera , Aphrodite , Diameter and Dionysus are equivalent to nothing more than mere mortals now . " Ares stated as his eye caught the robots drain away the essence of the Gods further away from them .
" The wall of water won't hold them for long , all we can do is continue fighting even when we cannot . We are the Gods of this world . " Poseidon stated .
" Agreed! " Athena said . She held her own sword and shield and took a fighting stance . Apollo and Artemis put away their bows and pulled out their own swords as they too readied for battle . Ares smirked and twirled his staff , cracking his neck he got ready to attack .
The wall of water came crashing down and successfully managed to push away some demons . The Gods dashed forward and sliced through any robot they came across . Apollo caught the sight of a demon sneaking behind Athena and he quickly finished off his and headed to aid her . His lack of self attention, aided them both being stripped of power . He successfully helped her dodge the demon but they had failed to see the other one as such the Goddess of wisdom and Sun God fell . Artemis , Poseidon and Ares fought hard , even when being surrounded again.
The sound of a divine blade used by one of the three main Gods , hitting the marbled floor , alerted the Gods attention for a split second. They felt their mistake as their essence slowly poured out of them . The last sight they saw was of Lucifer , bleeding horribly and being restrained by a lightning whip . Kayna and Dylan wanted to aid their Lord , but they had to serve as shields for the mortal like Gods and could no nothing but helplessly stare. Lucifer coughed out blood , he let his hand fall away from the lightning that wound itself tightly around his neck, yet he still smiled , a smile full of blood .
" Tóra ! " He gasped lowly , his power being severely drained , even more so since his arrival to Olympus, it forced his native tongue forward . His gasp was soft and no one really had his command , except the one who needed to .
Alek pressed the ignition button and a minute timer started on his scattered bombs . Lucifer summoned his strength, pulling himself together, he pulled Zeus into him. Hitting him in his head with his own, the hit caused the Sky God to slightly loosen his grip on the whip and stumble back. Using his chance , Lucifer created a safe void space above them .
" Kayna , Dylan , Alek guide them and the demons with their powers into there now ! " He instructed .
Zeus reached toward Lucifer and pulled him down by his hair , forcing him to kneel again .
" You're such a nuisance ." Lucifer spat blood as he pulled away , he lifted him off the ground and punched him in the chest , followed with a kick , he flew across the room .
" Father ! " Nikolai called . Lucifer looked his way and saw that they had a badly beaten Hephaestus with them .
" GET INTO THAT SPACE NOW . YOU'RE OUT OF TIME ! " Lucifer commanded. Zeus lurched forward and a lightning bolt pierced through Lucifer's abdomen, forcing him to his knees again.
" NOOOOOO LUCIFEEERRRR ! " Kayna screamed as she tried to go out to him , Dylan and Alek held her back .
" FATHER ! " Nikolai cried as he changed directions intending to go to his Father , but Kade and Hephaestus pulled him into the space . Lucifer coughed up blood and looked up to see everyone was tucked away , he sealed the space as a bomb went off ,the rush of demonic water burned through the creations , melting them away .
The water from the bombs were like a rain , falling down in droplets all over the place . Zeus screamed as the water connected with his skin and burned through .
" Never forget brother, the brighter a light shines the darker their shadows. " He reached forward and pulled a nearby robot , shielding it away from the water , he placed it on Zeus .
" Aaaahhhh ! " He screamed as his power was sucked from his body . Lucifer transported the demon robot with Zeus's power to Alek and the others . He commanded the waters to him , the mix of waters from the five rivers was a poison to the Gods , as humans or divine beings , it was deadly to normal humans as well. The water rushed over to him like a great wave and washed over him , the feel of the water healed him a bit, his eye would take longer to heal but his minor injuries were gone , he used the magic in the water to his benefit . He smirked and pulled Zeus back by his hair , he pulled his chin and opened his mouth .
" Drink up Brother . " He smirked as he poured the water down his throat . Zeus's body began to beat around and his mouth foamed at the sides , soon enough his body stilled and dropped to the ground with a lifeless thud .
Waving his hand he opened the space that held the other Gods and his family .
" You guys can come out now , the water won't hurt anyone I sent it back . Well some of it anyway. " Lucifer said . The grounds of the once porcelain like palace was now a mechanical battle field , with melted iron everywhere. No enemy was left working , everything was obliterated.
" Hephaestus can you return the powers stored in the robots of yours to the Gods ? " Lucifer asked as the group came out one by one. " Good then I leave this all to you. I do not plan to return here . This is Zeus powers the world will not affected by his lack of existence . Now I will be taking my leave, see you at the next millenial meeting . " Lucifer said when he had Hephaestus's approval . He nodded to his brother and teleported him and his family back to the their home.
" Finally you guys are home . Welcome back Lord Lucifer , hi guys . " Liam greeted them as they stepped through the portals and in to the mansion .
" Right Liam I leave it all to you . Everyone else freshen up whilst Igo fetch our little trouble maker . " Lucifer said as he disappeared again .
" Well then ." Liam smiled as he helped Kayna and Alek . " Wow you can't be the same kid that smashed my mom , could you ." Liam teased Dylan who narrowed his eyes at him unamused .
" You ... " Dylan started , " Are very odd. " He finished and smirked at him , sending him a wink as he left .
" Not gonna talk to your best friend then ? " Nikolai said amused at Liam's lack of attention .
" Nikolai hi I- oh you're new ." Liam said becoming distracted by Kade .
" Oh this is my boyfriend Kade , we happened to be together when all of this happened." Nikolai explained cheerfully . Liam felt his smile drop but quickly masked it and helped them to find anything they needed. He was now walking through the hallway , sulking .
" I can't believe this . " He mumbled to himself.
" Habit to be talking to yourself is it . " A voice pulled him away from his thoughts , he looked up to see Dylan leaning shirtless against his bedroom door .
" You should try distracting yourself from the situation . " Dylan offered his advice.
" Wh-what do you mean . "Liam asked .Dylan narrowed his eyes at him again and sighed .
" I mean ... " He said pulling Liam close to him , so that his minty breath fanned his face . " You're clearly sulking because you like that guy and you found out he's taken . So do something else to keep him out of your head . " Dylan specified. Liam stared at him shocked that he knew but then sighed realizing it didn't matter much anymore .
" H-how should I ? " He asked looking up at the taller Male. Dylan smirked and licked his lips.
" I can help with that . " He said as he rolled them into his room and paused him against the door closing it . He didn't let Liam respond to anything as he kissed him .
