Chapter 5: Leisurely Fun times (?)

Evelyn flashed a victorious smile as she exited the tent with her spoils in hand. namely a white alabaster Token with the insignia of the Kingdom's Air Division on it. The token is enchanted with the magical signature of the royal Family, allowing her limited access to certain military Compounds within the kingdom, which in the case of the inscription key inside her token, a military Compound near the Northern Border of the Verida Kingdom, where she was told to head to in a month's time but she'll worry about that later... She has bigger fish to fry.

Pocketing the token inside her bag Evelyn Decided she might as well have fun now that she had nothing else to do, she needed a quick breather after being angered so much by that infuriating man. She needed to vent or the next altercation that managed to tick her off might leave her would be Victim(s) unconscious at best or crippled at worst.

A moment of Sightseeing While greeting familiar faces she encountered amongst the crowd that each sported wry and even frightened expressions, Evelyn Finally reached her destination lined with stalls and booths manned by tbe students of the royal academy as far as the eye could see, though she's exaggerating on the part of "as far as the eye could See" bit.

Perusing through the makeshift structures decorated with plethora of goods such as tantalizing food to even Ready made Armaments like swords and armor, Evelyn Couldn't help but nod in approval on how excellent both the services and wares provided by her underclassmen.

'As expected of the students of my Alma mater~'

Evelyn being a little Spend thrift like most young ladies of her age, she would have started buying everything that managed to catch her eye if she wasn't up for something else. maybe after she finished sweeping through all the Game Booths? she did borrow (lol) Dean's black Card after all, that's basically a free pass to get anything she wanted in this Event.

'I wonder what kind of face would Dean make when he discovers how much I plan to spend today?' she snickered as she stopped at the particular Line of Booths that had various Gimmicks designed to cater and satisfy the tastes of adventurers and battle centric individuals alike.

'Yes. this is the right place.'

Evelyn Scanned around the area looking for a particular One that is always present each year and is considered quite popular amongst the muscle heads who hit hard but are slow as f*ck.

That would be a good place start with since she wanted to have a little warm up before she got to the more challenging trial games.

Evelyn had a lot frustration bottled up because of what she had to endure and she wasn't quite satisfied scaring him a little despite his outward appearance suggest, she's too sharp for that or at the very least when she only like she wanted to play.(?)

if Evelyn doesn't release her bottled up stress, she wouldn't be able to focus on the fun things happening around here, that would be counterproductive if she let it be. Yes. she wouldn't allow herself not to have fun, its been a while since she had fun after all(?)...

'ah there it is~ that one will do quite nicely.~'

the moment she spotted the particular booth with visible magical inscriptions that enhanced the overall integrity of whatever It was inscribed on, Evelyn frowned how amateurish its make was, she could already see twenty four Deficiencies that was effectively lowering the power efficiency of the pseudo formation by at least a whooping 24%, normally it would have taken her sometime to find these maladies since it wasn't her speciality nor was she gifted in that particular field. It helps quite a lot when the whole formation comprised of Matrix circuits are currently visible to the naked eye. a skilled artificer of formations would normally cloak them with either A illusion spell overlaid to hide the discrepancies caused by the glowing runes and Circuits or have the circuit matrix be drawn inside the structure itself.

She couldn't help but shake her head, If Evelyn was a instructor she would have given them a score below the passing mark but then again she wasn't. she was just a normal young lady looking to have fun, yes to have fun~(?).

Evelyn reached into her leather bag to fish out the card she "borrowed" and leisurely began considering what game would make an excellent follow up...

'Maybe something that would test my reaction time? I feel like I've somewhat gotten rusty on that department.'

she mused with a playful undertone in her thoughts.

Evelyn felt thrilled, excited even. it felt like ages since she managed cut loose a little.

with the prospect of fun that will soon begin, Evelyn couldn't help but add a small spring to her steps as she leisurely headed to the Booth's ticket stand, completely oblivious to the fact that she now had a smile that had no warmth but exuded a sinister undercurrent instead, which paired with her currently narrowed eyes... they like felt like the gaze of an apex predator ready to deliver death, her current state frightened the two young boys that somehow managed to catch the sight of this curious woman's sudden change of demeanors and even the aura she exuded.

One minute she felt like A wall flower that anyone could easily overlook and forgotten, the next she felt like one of their instructors that was dissatisfied and the last change was what really scared them... she just felt off... like she didn't belong...at all...

finding their Expressions somewhat cute Evelyn reached into the ticket booth and pressed her black card onto the formation that would record a successful transaction and spoke in a sickly sweet voice.

"Ticket for one please~"

the two young men simply trembled as the one on the left gingerly handed her the item she asked and let her through into the enclosed booth.

spotting her prey at the back of the booth that looked like a scarecrow crossed with punching bag, complete with a stupidly drawn cartoonish face. Evelyn smile grew a tad wider as she approached The heavily enchanted training dummy like she was about go in for the kill as she gathered an enormous amount of mana into her right arm while subsequently reinforcing it so it wouldn't simply desintegrate with the amount of mana she was pumping into it.

Like a flick of a switch, the previously controlled expression that was threatening to break was released...Revealing? a smiling monster in the shape of a Human girl only her Grin and shining red eyes could be seen as whatever force was acting in the background somehow refused to acknowledged what was obscured and left only those two features that would make anyone faint from fright if they were to see it.

The smiling monster Evelyn (?) assumed a state of heightened awareness and focus as she readied herself to deliver a powerful crushing blow that would reduce the Pseudo artifact supported by the rather Inept Formation into scrap.

After a momentary lull that spanned no more than a few second, Evelyn(?) suddenly swung her fist down onto the test dummy, using the expulsion of mana redirected to her elbows to accelerate her reinforced fist even more.

with a huge, load crash Her fist met the Dummy's Face causing it to be blown backwards as it struggled to Right itself up, several cracks marring its silly cartoonish face. unsatisfied with the result of her first attack Evelyn's (?) Cold smile grew deeper as a small sliver of killing intent leaked out from her body as she delivered another blow with her other fist that was silently stockpiling its own Mana on the side.

As she swung her left fist, aiming at the test dummy's face again, her Mana took a reddish hue for a second as her killing intent was mixed into the blow but as soon at it appeared it was quickly disperse when her fist struck hard onto the dummy forcefully expulsing the mana that was compressed, causing a small localised explosion that destroyed the pseudo artifact and reduced it to wood scraps, as well as deplete the reinforcement formation's energy source.

the excess kinetic energy generated from the mini explosion that wasn't contained by the formation on the other hand was skillfully redirected by Evelyn (?) into the ground which she somehow evenly distributed so it wouldn't affect the nearby booths in a major way.

At the very least Evelyn(?) can Guarantee it will not be a problem.

"Hmmm~ Cutting loose once in a while feels so great!~" The young Woman sighed out after the dust cleared revealing a Lanky figure doing some stretches with her arms in a jovial mood, no longer was there a malevolent presence that permeated her entire body nor her face obscured by whatever force that hid her expression, instead she was back to her usual self albeit in a much more refreshed state.

Ignoring the two unfortunate students A and B that were lamenting on the destruction of the booth on the side, Evelyn with a bright, cheery expression on her plain face walked out of the wreckage with a confident stride as she headed to the next trial she had set her sights.

'that looks so interesting! I wish Dean was here to play as well he would like that.'

Knowing her Best Friend he would try to rein her in as much as possible and she as the lovestruck maiden that she was (?) would happily comply to his wishes, he's the center of her world after all nothing will change that. standing In front of the next booth she intended to play in. Evelyn waved at the student manning the ticketing area and gave him her card.

"one ticket please." flashing him a toothy Grin as she pointed at the rather large brown bear with a leaf on its head at the back of the room.

"And get that ready as well, I wouldn't want to waste my free time waiting for you to pack it after beating your game after all...."

".....?"

Yes this will be a fun day~

(edit:) I did a lot of changes so I suggest re-reading this chapter but basically the first rough draft and this edited one is the same more or less so... enjoy and wait for the next one. I need my nap times to brainstorm new content. I am writing on the fly after all haha...
