The arrow was incredibly powerful, leaving everyone in shock. Even Mo Fan, who had expected it to be strong, was stunned by its true force. Mu Ningxue's use of her soul-grade ice domain had amplified the arrow's might beyond imagination.
At that moment, Mo Fan felt an even stronger urge to pursue the power of the Demon Element. After all, how could he be worthy of someone like Mu Ningxue without immense strength?
The ice-crystal bow in Mu Ningxue's hands shattered into fine ice particles and slipped from her fingers. Her fragile body, now completely drained, collapsed. Mo Fan caught her just in time. Though she hadn't fainted, she was extremely weak.
"You all should escape quickly. Their real target is me," Mo Fan said.
Mu Nu Jiou, Bai Tingting, Song Xia, Zhao Manyan, and the others were still reeling from the shock of the arrow when Mo Fan's words brought them back to reality.
After giving his warning, Mo Fan summoned his Flame Wolf and holding the weakened Mu Ningxue in his arms, rode toward the desolate city. He didn't plan on dragging the others along, as Mu Ningxue was now a burden in her current state. Besides, Mo Fan wasn't one to miss such an opportunity.
Zhao Manyan and the others realized Mo Fan was using himself as bait to lure away Lu Nian's forces. Someone suggested that they split up to escape since staying together would only make it easier for the enemy to capture them all.
Not long after they scattered, the ice crystals that had encased Lu Nian and his men finally began to crack and shatter. Lu Nian had prepared a defensive spell beforehand, so although the ice was powerful, it couldn't harm him. Mu Ningxue's attack, while formidable, was still not on the level of a true high-tier mage.
"Go after the others and bring them back alive." Lu Nian ordered some of his soldiers. He turned his cold gaze toward the abandoned city, giving further instructions to the remaining mages, "Follow me. Our most important subject must not escape."
Mo Fan, riding his Flame Wolf and carrying Mu Ningxue, entered the ruined city. He wasn't afraid—in fact, he had no intention of running away. The Bloodseed, his real goal, was still within the city.
Mo Fan laid Mu Ningxue in the building where they had encountered the False Fiend. Since the demon was dead, the building was now quite safe. The local creatures knew it had been a dangerous place, so leaving Mu Ningxue there gave Mo Fan peace of mind. Then, he headed out again on the Flame Wolf.
The city was filled with various types of monsters, including the terrifying Giant Wyvern-Serpents and the Lizard Skull Giant Demon Tribe. Even Lu Nian and his elite team wouldn't dare make too much noise in such a dangerous place. This worked to Mo Fan's advantage.
Mo Fan headed towards a swampy area filled with strange mud pools that even the monsters avoided. This was the territory of the Lizard Skull Giant Demon Tribe, the true rulers of the region. The school's intelligence had failed to note that a portion of these powerful creatures was still present in the abandoned city.
As he ventured deeper into their domain, Mo Fan's goal became clear: this was the most dangerous part of the city, but it was also the best place to snatch the Bloodseed. He remembered that the one holding it was someone named Jiang Yi.
The swampy area was dotted with odd, roof-high structures, all indicating the presence of Lizard Skull Giant Demons. These creatures were of different elements—some wielded fire, some poison, others ice or earth—but all were battle-ready monsters.
Despite their dangerous nature, Mo Fan skillfully maneuvered through their attacks on his Flame Wolf. Eventually, some of Lu Nian's men caught up, battling their way through the Lizards Skull demons. Though these creatures were formidable, Lu Nian's elite team quickly cleared a path.
As Mo Fan approached a massive mound in the city center—formed from solidified mud—he spotted a giant red lizard head hanging lazily from the structure. Drool dripped constantly from its open mouth, as if it were a turned-on faucet. This was the lair of the Lizard Skull tribe's Overlord.
Soon after, Jiang Yi and her team arrived, confident they had cornered Mo Fan. She sneered at him, "Where do you think you're going to run now?"
"I'm not running," Mo Fan replied, with a casual shrug as if surrendering.
Jiang Yi scoffed, "Do you think hiding here will help? We've dealt with these demons before. They're no match for us."
"You might want to take a good look around before saying that." Mo Fan remarked.
"Humph! So what? We'll capture you first!" she replied dismissively.
To them, Mo Fan was just a student, an inexperienced rookie. How much trouble could he really cause? But Mo Fan had no time for idle chatter. Instead, he launched a powerful fire punch straight at the Lizard Skull's lair.
"Boom!"
The explosion drew the attention of the monsters. Jiang Yi initially thought Mo Fan's actions were foolish, as her team had already slain countless monsters in their careers. But to her surprise, the enraged Lizard Skull demons began charging toward her team instead of Mo Fan.
Unbeknownst to them, Mo Fan had used his shadow magic to blend into the chaos. He watched silently as the elite team struggled against the horde of Lizard Skull's.
In the confusion, Mo Fan reappeared behind Jiang Yi. The battle with the Lizard Skulls intensified , leaving Jiang Yi perplexed as to why things had spiraled out of control. Before she could process what was happening, Mo Fan struck.
"Fiery Fist: Nine Palaces!"
With no hesitation, Mo Fan unleashed his fiery attack on Jiang Yi and her soldiers. Though they were elite, they had chosen to serve a madman like Lu Nian. Mo Fan had no intention of showing mercy.
