I currently stood in front a figure I have never thought I would meet personally. The owner of the Yamato himself. My body is the same as the man himself.
Vergil.
"Aren't you being weirded out after seeing yourself?" I broke the silence as he just stood there checking my posture.
"Not really. I have doppelganger so its not really that weird." Vergil replied as he sighed.
"What?" I asked him.
"You're too wide open. 90 spots. That's the number of weak spots that I could attack. That's with me going easy on you. The number would increase if I took it up a notch." Vergil said and I realized why he was looking at me.
"What can I say? I'm not a martial artist or something like that." I shrugged at his words.
"I need to whip you up to shape and teach ypu everything I know." Vergil said with a sigh.
"Why?" I asked a little excited about the prospect of Vergil personally teaching me everything he knows.
"Because Zeltretch didn't want you to die by making stupid moves after going down to that world." Vergil said as I nodded.
"Now, let's get started." Vergil's aura turned cold and what stood in front of me was the Vergil I always knew, calm, cold, ruthless, and, strong.
"You know how to use Dark Slayer Arts, right? Evade every attack I'll send to you until I stop, got it?" His words sent alarm signals onto my brain and I used Dark Slayer arts subconsciously to evade something. When I turned my head to look at the last place I stood, Judgement Cut ravaged the place.
'Good instincts.' Vergil thought as he sent another attack towards me as I used Dark Slayer arts consecutively, dodging every single attack that Vergil sent towards my way.
After a few more minutes of playing cat and mouse with Vergil, he stopped sending judgement cuts on my way and I thought that training is finished but he spoke first.
"Evade my last attack. If you do then you can call it a day." Vergil said and sent another attack to me.
When I was about to use Dark Slayer Arts, my body couldn't move and react accordingly.
The Judgement Cut that Vergil sent towards me tore through my defenses as blood started spurting from the cuts I received from the attack.
"You know how to use Dark Slayer Arts but not how to efficiently use it. Your body lack the energy use it that's why your body can't move. You simply lack any kind of energy to react and move and being caught by my attack. If you could efficiently dodge by sidestepping a little or using Dark Slayer arts at short distances to efficiently save energy and mana, then you could pretty much dodge my attacks for a whole day and still have energy to spare and talk. Anyway, you have a lot to learn and we have a lot of time to teach you everything I know." Vergil said to me but I could only listen to him since I'm lying on my pool of blood.
"You're a Half-blood Demon, you'll get up from there after a few minutes. Think about your mistakes and clean up." Vergil said and he waved his hand and a forest background appeared as a small modest house appeared in front of Vergil.
Vergil entered the house while I stood there looking at the house. Since I can't move my body let alone stand, I decided to mull over my decisions on my training earlier.
'Maybe I should've just moved from that spot and evaded it without using DS Arts.... I shouldn't have used long-range teleport at the start, I felt it cut a lot of my reserves....'
Thoughts flooded my mind as I tried to reassess everything I did earlier and what I should've done. My mind started recording my thoughts as I continued thinking of ways to efficiently dodge without wasting energy. Vergil was right, I knew how to use DS Arts but not how to properly use it. After thinking about it, lots of paths appeared and my mind recorded every single path I could think off. Same attack patterns would be useless once I encountered it once but if someone had absolute power, seeing it and remembering it is useless.
I didn't know but my body could already move but I didn't notice since I was busy mentally training subconsciously.
After a lot of time passed, I finally noticed that I'm all patched up and healed. The regeneration speed of a demon might not be up to par with those instant regeneration but it is still more useful than not.
I looked up and noticed that the background has a sun and it is always brightly lit. I sat down and stretched my body. Popping sounds were heard and I stood up and entered the house where Vergil entered.
I saw Vergil reading a book and didn't mind me at all. The interior of the house was pretty simple and there are appliances that are essential for living. I went to the fridge and took a look at what's inside the fridge as I found out nothing interesting inside the fridge other than ingredients. I took out a jug of water and chugged its contents and I found out that the jug never ran out of water. I placed the jug back and sighed. It was a tiring day and I wanted to drift asleep and rest.
"Your room is on the left." Vergil suddenly spoke and I nodded and went up to sleep.
I woke up from my slumber and went down. Vergil is missing downstairs. I went towards the fridge and made a simple meal with two parts, one for me, one for Vergil.
I finished my meal and cleaned up before going out. I have been thinking of what's going to happen in the future when an old voice sounded beside me.
"What're you thinking, brat?" Of course I know its Zeltretch.
"Nothing much. Thinking of how you met my parents and Aunt." I asked absent-mindedly.
"Hm? I was there when a car crashed into your family's car. You were out cold but your parents did their best to crawl out and ask for help. They did asked me for help so I called an ambulance. You're going to ask why didn't I save them? Their time is up, brat. Grim Reapers were already waiting for your parents to kick the bucket like crows. I won't make such entities as an enemy if I can avoid it you know. Your mother asked me to help you get out of that car, and that, I did. As for their wishes, it was their last thoughts before they were taken away. An Apology for leaving you and their wish for you." Zeltretch spoke and I was in a rollercoaster of emotion after hearing his words. Sadness, anguish, anger, love.
Seeing me speechless, Zeltretch sighed.
"Listen, brat. Do you want me to transport you as a child or on 'that' level already?." Zeltretch said before looking at the front
"Personally, I prefer on 'that' level, I don't want to be pooping unconsciously, peeing unconsciously, and the likes. Anyway, do you think, I'll be able to do it?" I asked Zeltretch after a long period of silence.
"Do what?" He asked back.
"Doing what I want." I said never leaving my sight to the front. Zeltretch suddenly grinned as he leaned back and relaxed.
"As long as you will it. Anything can happen." Zeltretch said and I simply smiled at his words.
