15 Personal Guidance

After getting their sizes, Meld gave everyone their status plates.

"Listen, these status plates are your identification card and its a unique one. Just drop blood on the back of the plate and it will record your mana. No one will be able to replicate it so its credible being used as identity card." Meld said and continued.

"Now that everything is sorted out, we'll have to pair you up once more and sort out your living quarters." Meld said and started pairing the boys. Boys bunking in with boys, while the girls have their own room.

Vergil doesn't have any qualms on who's going to bunk with him as long as he's not annoying and quiet when sleeping. Vergil ended up getting paired with Ryutarou.

"Hey man, looks like we'll be bunking with each other." Ryutarou said as he tapped Vergil's shoulder.

"Uh, yeah, sure." Vergil replied nonchalantly.

"Rest well. Tomorrow we'll teach you how to sense mana and use it followed by your class skills. Got it?" Meld said and the students shouted in an excited approval.

Meld then led them to their room, the west wing of the castle for the girls while the east wing for the boys.

"Wow, the bed's even better than my own bed back on my family's apartment in Earth." Ryutarou said as he mused at the double bed with an obviously soft mattress.

"I don't really care where I sleep. Go pick your bed." Vergil said and Ryutarou chuckled.

"Thanks, man. I thought we would have to fight on where to sleep. I'll be taking the top bed then." Ryutarou said and climbed up.

"Well, it doesn't matter where I sleep." Vergil said as he sat on his bed.

"Hey, man. Why do you think we are summoned as heroes to this world?" Ryutarou asked Vergil.

"They said it was to cleanse the land of darkness. Was it true?" Vergil asked him back.

"I don't know at all, man. We were summoned here unexpectedly and I don't know what to think about all of this." Ryutarou said and Vergil was surprised. He didn't think that this guy has brains as well. He was not all brawn, considering his huge build.

"Whether what they said is true or not, we don't have a choice since there's no way to go back." He could go back with yamato but he's not planning to. He still have a lot to do in this world. He had certain labyrinths to clear up in his mind and 'that' specific labyrinth is what he's aiming for.

"Yeah, that's true. What I'm sure about is that I'm excited to learn how to sense and use mana tomorrow. I'll be turning in now." Ryutarou said as he closed his eyes to rest.

"Yeah, sure." Vergil said and was about to pick up his status plate.

"Aren't you going to rest early?" Ryutarou asked with his eyes closed.

"I'm going to sleep after thinking about things." Vergil said and Ryutarou didn't reply and did his best to sleep.

Vergil then bit his thumb and dropped his blood on the back of the status plate. Series of lights and text appeared on the status plate.

The status displayed his class and learnable skills. His learnable skills are pretty lame, X-slash, Parrying counter, and Heavy Slash. He thought that his skills like Judgement Cut would be recorded but it seems like it could only record skills gained on this world. Nothing about his class skills are useful. Deciding to just meditate, Vergil was about to enter the meditation state when a loud snore broke his trance.

"I should've expected this. A big guy like him, sleeping like a log and quietly? Probably not." Vergil said and thought of entering the trance once more but the snores kept on getting louder. Sighing in defeat, Vergil stood up and left his room.

With no place in mind to go, Vergil decided to roam around to find a quiet place where he can meditate. Wandering around the palace, he found the garden to see that it was already occupied. He saw Shizuku swinging her sword repeatedly.

"Vergil?" Shizuku spoke after seeing Vergil entering the garden.

"You were practicing?" Vergil asked and Shizuku nodded.

"Yes, I couldn't sleep so I just wandered around the castle and thought that the garden is a quiet place and started practicing. What about you?" Shizuku asked Vergil.

"My roommate's snore is loud and I can't sleep and started finding for a place where I can meditate." Vergil said making Shizuku laugh and pondered on something.

"Hey, Vergil, c-can you teach me how to sense and use mana?" Shizuku asked in hesitation.

"Meld said he's going to teach everyone how to sense and use mana tomorrow, what's the rush?" Vergil answered her.

"I-I want to learn from you." Shizuku steeled her resolve, she also wants to go home and thought that her friends could go home after they completed their objective.

"Oya-oya? Is that a love confession from you?" Vergil said in amusement. Shizuku's cheeks had a slight blush on her cheeks but answered Vergil. (Ara-ara is for mature ladies, Oya-oya is for men, just think of Bokuto and Kuroo teasing Tsukishima when he said he wants to learn more about blocking.)

"Of course not. Why would I like a bully?" Shizuku said with a hmph.

"Then why do you want to learn from me?" Vergil asked her.

"Thats... uncle Kenpachi said you're a genius and father praised you, saying that you could use mana and possibly manifest it physically." Shizuku said after pondering.

"Fine. Then sit down, I'll teach you how to sense mana. You won't be able to use mana if you could not sense it after all." Vergil said and pointed at the ground for Shizuku to sit.

Shizuku followed suit and sat down. She was wearing a skirt so she sat down with her knees bent.

"Close your eyes, I'm going to make my mana flow inside you, be sure to memorize the feeling." Vergil said and went to her back. He then placed his hand and slowly manipulated the mana inside him to come into contact with Shizuku's body.

Shizuku felt Vergil's hands on her back and her cheeks had a pink tint on it but decided to ignore it and followed Vergil's teaching as she closed her eyes. After the mana came into contact with her body, Shizuku felt a warm feeling spreading throughout her body. She felt relaxed as she did her best to remember the feeling of mana coursing throughout her body.

"How do you feel? Have you felt it?" Vergil asked and she nodded.

"Yes, I feel a warm feeling throughout my body, is that mana?" Shizuku asked, still with her eyes closed as she relished on the feeling.

"Yes, now try and use the same feeling and sense your mana inside you." Vergil said and Shizuku did it. Soon, she felt a refreshing feeling inside her as Vergil slowly pulled his mana back.

"So, how does it feel sensing your mana?" Vergil asked with a smile. Shizuku opened her eyes in amazement, she could now feel the refreshing mana inside her.

"I can sense it, but why is the feeling of your mana and mine different?" Shizuku asked.

"Because of your difference in attributes." Another voice resounded and Shizuku looked at the origin of the voice, she was surprised to see Meld without his armor. Vergil already noticed Meld's presence since he was manipulating his mana earlier.

"Knight Commander!" Shizuku stood up and greeted Meld.

"Please, just call me Meld." Meld said.

"Mr. Meld, what do you mean by the difference in attributes?" Shizuku asked him about her question.

"Every person has different attributes in their bodies that's why you feel different in sensing Vergil's mana and your own." Meld explained and sighed before continuing.

"I don't know what to say, to freely manipulate your own mana and share it to others, I don't know if you're a genius or a monster. What's your class by the way, I don't think you're a mage since you chose a sword earlier but only someone with a mage class could sense mana in their first try. Is your class a magic knight?" Meld asked but Vergil shook his head.

"My class is shadow samurai. As for why I could sense and use mana, I've been using it even before we got summoned here. Though, our world's mana is a little thin." Vergil said and he could see the surprise in Meld's eyes.

He doesn't have any problems sharing the fact that he can use and control his mana at his own will since its the basics of the basics and his master, Vergil, drilled it to him so much that he will receive punishment if his control in mana is off by just a single millimeter.

"I see that you're working hard and all but you also need to know the value of rest." Meld said and Shizuku nodded. As for Vergil, he doesn't really need rest, meditation in itself is his own way of resting his body.

"Well, I guess I'll leave you guys here. I still have my patrol duty. Rest well, young heroes." Meld said and looked at Vergil and Shizuku one last time before turning back.

"What's next?" Shizuku asked Vergil in anticipation, this is her first time sensing mana and she wants to know how to use it.

"Don't be hasty in learning, just sit down and meditate. Control the mana inside you to revolve around your body. Get a feel on how it works and I'll teach you how to use it afterwards." Vergil said and Shizuku nodded as she sat down and closed her eyes, feeling the mana inside her and trying her best to control it which she find hard.

Seeing Shizuku training, Vergil sat down besides her and started meditating. As soon as he got into a trance, his consciousness was swallowed by a white mist.

"Yo, old man. Waiting for me I presume?" Vergil said to Old Man Zeltretch.

-------------

There's a reason why I chose Gintoki's outfit first. You'll learn it in the future. Weeb outfit, psh, please. I like Gintoki's outfit doesn't mean its bad. Gintoki's outfit showed his transformation and evolution through the show. Its the amalgamation of his outfit when he was young, became a disciple, became the white yaksha and finally became the Gintama we all know and love. Its a subtle thing in the show but it holds a lot of things.

If you want the detailed analysis of Gintoki's outfit I'll post the link in the comment sections.
