He Was Never Going To Change

[NOUR]

Nour didn't complain about the harsh grip that Grant had on him. He didn't mind it really because he was no longer surprised by the man. He knew that there would come a time when Grant had to forget that he was playing nice and that was still okay.

No matter what happened, no matter where they were, the young prince had made up his mind. He wouldn't stay on the sidelines and play good mate bad mate with the monster he was mated to.

He didn't care that there was a lot that would happen. The only thing he cared about was himself and his father. This was why he was keeping his smile on his face, desiring the urge to throw Grant against the wall and turn him into bone soup.

"You look well today, Omega," the king said as he looked at his son who was smirking at him.

They had both learned that Grant hated the fact that he was mated to an omega. The king reminding him of this was just the perfect trigger for the werewolf enforcer. He was mad and that was expected but the father and son didn't even think too much of it.

Whatever happened they would keep to themselves and keep their games going, yeah?

"Thank you, your majesty. My mate was kind enough to take care of me," Nour said, his words contracting his eyes. They were currently at the dinner table and almost halfway to the end. They looked relaxed and yet cautious at the same time.

Delbert looked like he was enjoying the shitshow while Grant looked like he had a stick up his ass. It was like the world was going round and round and he wasn't even a part of it. That was a weird reality for him, but then he had to live out though.

"Now that you're mated to my best enforcer, I assume you're open to a position in court, right? We can't have you stay as just another image. That should help both of your repetitions," the king suggested and Grant choked on his food.

He had been doing well trying to hold on but the more the king talked, the more Grant was sure this man was out to kill him. How the fuck was the king even suggesting such absurdity?

"Won't that be too much for him, My King?" Grant said as she struggled to keep his dignity, despite the fact that he was still choking on his food. It was a pathetic sight really, and perhaps he would eventually understand what karma always did.

"I don't think so. Besides, you're the best that he can learn from. Of course, if you're too busy Delbert here can train him so you don't have to do this on your own. Or better yet. Ferhat can train him. Actually, Ferhat is the perfect one for his training.

"Now that he is your mate, he is bound to be a target. And the rugby world already introduced us to all that. It's fortunate really, but I am happy that you were there for your mate and made him happier through and through.

"That is just the kind of commitment the moon goddess created for mates. My Soraya would have loved to see a united front," the king said thoughtfully, the last bit slipping out unintentionally.

Nour let out a low whimper that Grant missed, but not the king and Delbert. The werewolf king looked at his son, the urge to hug him so intense but he couldn't even do that without giving up his son's identity.

He had seen how Nour had worked so damn hard to create that cover and he couldn't ruin it for him.

Delbert on the other hand wanted to tell the prince to not worry too much, given he would always be there for him, but just like the king he couldn't, without giving up his true identity as a Lycan warrior.

That in itself could raise so many questions and frankly, it would be a hassle for him and he didn't want that.

"Your Highness… Can I please think about it? I haven't been one for a leadership position and I still have a lot to learn. Please let me think about it," Nour said as he looked at his father knowingly and the king started softly.

"Of course, son. Take your time. Anyway, let's keep eating," King Cassius said smirking and Grant let out a sigh of relief.

When dinner was done, the king left, along with Delbert even though they both had wanted to stay longer and be with the one they cared for. However, as it was that was so, that would raise more questions than they could give answers for.

Grant on the other hand wasn't as pleased and it was obvious when they were on their way back to his house. He hadn't expected that the king would ask that of Nour but he hated the idea that Nour had even said he was going to think about.

"You're not accepting the position. It's bad enough that I am mated to an omega and it will be worse for me if you have a position in the high court. Don't even think of going behind my back and accepting it.

"I might just reject you if you do that and it won't matter to me in any way. Careful, butterfly, losing your wings won't be a good look on you and if you think I'm joking, you go ahead and try it," Grant warned fiercely, and Nour pretended to be taken aback.

He wanted to believe that this was just a misunderstanding but even he was smarter than that. He had expected this, even when Grant ditched him and headed towards the brothels, he didn't try to hold the man back.

Instead, the young wolf went to his hiding spot where he hid his tools as the ruby wolf. If his stupid mate thought that he could just talk shit and then he was in for something else. Nour was pissed.

"I'll make you remember what it feels like to hurt you little shit," Nour said angrily as he changed his clothes and sharpened his swords. He was going hunting and he wasn't going to let anyone be tonight.

"Are you going somewhere little wolf? That mate of yours definitely got into your head this time, huh? Or are you going to pretend that you aren't hanging because he left for the brothel again?" Delbert asked casually as he stared at his beautiful Erasthai.

Even when he was angry, Prince Cassius Junior would always remain the prettiest man that Delbert had ever seen. He didn't blame his Lycan for this particular choice because even he was falling hopelessly for the man.

There was no other way to describe his feelings for the young prince but he wasn't ever going to deny that he would take Nour from Grant if the enforcer continued being a shitty mate.

"It must really be fun for you, isn't it? Seeing me being tossed around and screwed over by the same man who is supposed to look at me with love, right? You're his junior warrior, shouldn't you be with him in the brothel fuc—" Nour said angrily, only for Delbert to interrupt him with a rough yet passionate kiss on the lips.

Why can't Nour reject the man though... he's a useless bum hiring him for no reason
