Chapter 4: Let's Do That!

Not immediately getting a reply from the System, Damian waited anxiously, he didn't know if the System would help him avenge the person who tried to harm him that time.

[That's why the System chose the Host, the System's existence here is to help the Host realise the revenge the Host wants]

If Damian thought about it, it actually made sense, he had already realised it from the beginning when he heard the name of this System, but he asked this just to be sure. It would be dangerous if this System's purpose was not in line with what Damian was aiming for.

"Thanks goodness. I hope you can help me realise what I want," Damian replied then nodded his head calmly, that way he no longer felt worried about the existence of this System.

[Then the Host should accept Wendy's offer since the Host would have to hide its identity from now on]

"You're right, I will agree to that woman's offer. It's just that I still don't know which family she comes from, I don't know if her family will jeopardise my identity." Damian was quite worried about this matter, all he knew of Wendy at the moment was limited to her first name.

In fact, Damian did not know anything about Wendy, it seemed that he had to force Wendy to explain everything to him first before signing a contract with her. Damian really didn't want to experience bad events like before again, it was enough that he felt like dying once.

Soon someone who seemed to be Wendy's messenger brought him food and also the medicine he had to take. After finishing what he had to do at this time Damian decided to rest himself, whose condition was not yet stable.

The next day Damian woke up and was immediately surprised by what was in front of him at this time. Across his bed sat Wendy who was smiling at him, Damian couldn't help but move backwards as soon as he opened his eyes today.

"Can't you wait patiently?!" Damian cleared his throat softly, then corrected his posture.

"I can't wait for your answer. So, what did you think of my previous offer?" asked Wendy then, in front of Damian she had to hide the fact that she was very anxious right now because she had very little time left.

"Before that I have a condition for you," Damian replied then, before he utilised the features of the System, he wanted to test Wendy first as to whether she could trust him.

If Damian decided to cooperate with Wendy, then he had to know first whether Wendy could be trusted. If not then Damian only thought of rejecting her and looking for another working partner.

"Just say it, I'll listen," Wendy replied quickly, she wouldn't mind granting Damian's small request if he could get her as his partner.

"Is that so? Then I won't hesitate." Although Damian's voice sounded calm, it could be seen that he was grinning happily at the moment.

"You know that trust between partners is a must. So, I want you to explain to me why you are making this offer to me," Damian said, then continued, "the real reason, not the clichéd one you gave me earlier."

Wendy's previously smiling face immediately disappeared from her beautiful face, she did not expect Damian to ask for something like this, she thought he wanted money from her. As Wendy suspected Damian was not an ordinary person, there was no way an ordinary person would ask for something like this.

Wendy, who saw Damian's serious face, thought that she could not avoid giving this explanation to him. With a sigh Wendy finally opened her voice after a few moments of silence, "Okay, I'll tell you."

"I will introduce myself properly this time. I am Wendy Clayton, the youngest daughter of the Clayton Family." Wendy finally had to tell the truth about her identity which she had not told Damian before.

Damian was silently surprised by Wendy's words at this time, he honestly did not expect that Wendy was someone from the Clayton family. Actually, Damian was quite familiar with the Clayton family because one of their families worked together with Damian's Estrado Family.

As a mafia family, Damian and his men often did dirty work for people with power and money. However, Damian had never met the youngest daughter of the Clayton family before.

"I didn't expect to meet one of the Clayton family members. So you need me to help you fight your family?" Damian was already beginning to guess what Wendy really wanted from him.

"You could say that. I need your help so that my family doesn't bother me anymore, don't worry I won't interfere with your activities," Wendy replied with a soft sigh.

"But, you know I'm just from an ordinary family. So I can't provide much help for you." Damian immediately said that with his current self he could not provide much help for Wendy.

"Don't worry. I only need you, you don't need to help me." Wendy smiled calmly, she didn't expect Damian to help her, right now she just needed someone who could hold her family back from doing something to her.

"Alright then, I'll take you up on your offer." Damian nodded his head, by now he had also seen the information that the System had given him about Wendy and he had not lied to him at all.

"I'm glad you're willing to accept my offer, here's the contract I've drawn up, take a look at it and tell me if there's anything you want to change." Wendy handed him an envelope containing their marriage contract.

After receiving the contract from Wendy, Damian immediately carefully read the contents of the contract and he did not object to the contents. "Give me the pen," Damian said briefly while holding out his hand to Wendy.

Wendy immediately gave Damian a pen, very happy to see Damian immediately sign their contract.

"I already signed it. When are we leaving here?" Damian felt that his body was much better now, he wanted to find out the current situation of his mafia group.

"If you don't mind, we can go to my family's house tonight." Wendy didn't mind going right now, but she had to tell Damian about their future relationship scenario.
