Put you first

Divean woke up to find the spot where Snow had slept empty.

"Ouch!" he heard her voice from the bathroom. He was out of bed and rushing to the door.

"Are you okay?" he asked opening the door.

Snow looked up from the floor, she had slipped.

"My ankle...it hurts " she muttered.

He sighed as he gently picked her up.

"You need to be careful you haven't fully recovered "

She blinked.

"But am not that hurt " She sat back when he placed her down on the bed.

He knelt checking her ankle. It was swollen and red.

"It's swollen " he frowned.

"I guess I hurt it yesterday...just didn't know I had " she flinched back in pain.

"You were still in shock and we didn't fully check you" he breathed.

"Little ice and I will be fine " she let out.

"No you won't " he muttered.

"I know but I can't let this push me back...I need to get ready " she said.

Divean let down her leg and stood up glaring down at her.

"What is wrong with you, Constance?" he let out.

"Ahh!?".

"You need to stop doing this to yourself... nothing will work out if you keep putting yourself in danger ".

Snow sighed.

"I don't care...no one has ever cared for me and I....and I need to make them pay all of them " she yelled.

"What about me?!" he yelled.

"Huh?".

Divean moved closer to her.

"You my wife and now the mother of Alia. She can't lose you...we can't lose you " he said.

"But...".

"No, but Constance. You need to learn to put yourself first "

She shook her head, "But I have never done that....nothing good came out of it. Can't you see where I am now after I did, am alone with no family and wealth. Everything he took it, after trusting him "

Divean could see the tears form in her eyes.

"Then let me do it "

"Do what?" she sniffed.

"Put you first ".

She blinked her tears falling.

"And right now I need you to rest...I know you want to make them pay but you can't do anything if your own body is against you "

Snow let him push her back into bed.

"What will we do about Carol and..." she tried sitting up but Divean lauded her back.

"I will handle it," he said.

Divean had just stepped out of the meeting and decided to call his mom.

"How is she doing, right now?" he asked.

Snow had stayed home after he convinced her to.

"Asleep, she had her lunch and medication then went to sleep " she reported.

"Okay, thank you for looking after her "

"She is an angel, I just feel bad that she has to keep going through all this " she said.

"It will end soon" he muttered.

...

"Did you hear about the incident at Alexander company?" Lydia walked into her husband's office.

"Mmm, it seems his employees don't agree with him bringing his wife back " Tom looked up to her.

"It's weird cause it seems it was between the two sisters. You know Carol that crazy woman who was always competitive with Snow " Lyida explained.

Tom frowned.

"Carol!?"

Lydia nodded.

"What happened?" he asked.

"Well, she tried to kill her sister after she accused her of not being original. It seems Snow was right all along those were her stolen ideas " Lydia chuckled sitting down.

"Kill?! Did she succeed?" he asked.

"Not, Divean and his men arrived and saved her. I heard Carol is now under arrest but keeps blabbering nonsense " she said.

Tom got up grabbing his coat.

"I need to go attend to something, head home alone" he said rushing out.

Lydia left behind looked confused about what was bothering him, but didn't heed to it.

...

"Am going to expose you, he will find out all your dirty secrets ".

Snow looked around she could hear the voice but failed to see anyone in the darkness that was surrounding her.

"You can't...and I didn't do anything wrong " she yelled.

"How can you say that..you know what you did and nothing you do now can save you from your darkness ".

Snow closed her eyes muttering to herself that it was all a dream but when she opened them again, nothing had changed. Her tears blinded her as the darkness kept creeping in on her.

"No...am sorry...am sorry I didn't mean to " she yelled.

She huffed sitting up, catching her breath Snow realised she had woken up. Her sweaty body-spinning heart told her that her nightmare had ended.

The door opened and he walked in. Without thinking Snow jumped out of bed and ran to him.

Divean saw her rush to him and threw away his coat and opened his arms taking her light body into his arms.

She held onto his neck, tiptoeing.

"Bad dream?" his deep voice asked, he could feel her pouring her next to his.

"Mmm," she replied.

She felt his warm hand rub her back to calm her. She breathed.

"You late " she let out.

Divean moved grabbing her hips and taking her off the floor. Snow opened her legs and clung to him. Holding her behind he steadily held her up.

He walked moving to the balcony, letting the light breeze calm her down. She slowly pulled away looking back at the little lights afar.

Leaning down on his shoulder she breathed.

"Better?".

She nodded.

They stood there in silence, him holding her in his arms while she enjoyed his warmth and the scene in front of her.

"Am sorry " she suddenly said.

"About?".

"About what happened, now Alia and you have lost a family member cause of me. I didn't mean for it to turn out this way " she said.

"It's not your fault, never was. Carol was in the wrong and what she did to you was worse. She will face the consequences " he said.

Snow pulled away gazing back at him. Divean stared back.

Her hair was moving with the breeze, her pale yet beautiful skin glowed under the moonlight. Her lips were plump in cherry pink and her eyes sparkled with emotions he could not read.

Before he knew it he was leaning in kissing her.

Snow froze when his lips met hers, he pulled away.

"Am sorry I didn't...." she stopped him as her hand moved pulling his head back to her.

Divean held his breath when she kissed him back.
