A deep husky voice echoed from her back and she almost had a heart attack. Where did he come from? As a simple reflex, Gwendolyn turned around and her eyes almost popped out. Here was Duane shirtless and only on jeans. Her eyes caught the trail of sweat that traveled into the prominent V of his abdomen and she gulped. This was sex walking in daylight. "Like what you see?" He snapped her from her thoughts. Gwen glared at him yet went ahead to ask, "H-how did you hear that question? I need to know because I'm sure as hell that you were distracted as I was. Hence, there was no way on earth you could have heard that," Duane chuckled, the kind that sent tremors down her body, "That's your mistake honey, I was listening in class," was his reply as he leaned against the wall, coming too close for her liking. He was invading her senses, his presence was making it too hard to concentrate, "It seems you need to be spanked, you weren't listening in class," He said suggestively. Gwendolyn went red in the face but she would not be fooled by his flirting, which was why she said to him boldly, "I know what you are?" "What I am?" he was clearly amused, "Then tell me then, what do you think I am?" "A vampire,"

Duane Evans

Gwendolyn was hit by a sensation of fear so great that even after that weird yet frightening girl had left, her legs felt like jelly and her hands trembled.

A light sheen of sweat broke out along her hairline and she made the mistake of walking and fell. Well, almost fell, since someone was there to right her.

"Hey, are you alright?" A stranger helped her to her feet.

"Just give me a sec," She told him, controlling her ragging heartbeat.

That was so strange, Gwen swore she would have crumbled down to the floor and cried if the girl had stayed any longer. It was as if this feeling of dread had seized her heart, making it unable to breathe properly. That was not normal nor would she want to encounter that witch again.

"Thank you," She said to the boy who had thankfully accommodated her nervous breakdown without probing her.

"Are you sure you don't need to visit the nurse's office? You don't look fine to me?" she could make out concern on his face.

"No, I'm good," Gwen straightened up to prove her point, "See?"

"Well, if you say so. By the way, my name is Adam," he added, "Guy. Adam Guy," He thrust out his hand for a handshake.

Adam stood a tall six foot two and wore a white shirt that clung tightly to his toned stomach muscles - he probably belonged in a sports team or something. His high cheekbones perfectly accentuated his face with bow-shaped lips every girl would be jealous of  - this was so unfair. You know women had much better use for this, God of creation.

"Oh," Gwendolyn awkwardly rubbed her palm on her shirt to get rid of the clamminess from earlier, "I'm -"

"Gwendolyn Black? You're not difficult to identify,"

Of course, he knew her! Why wouldn't he know her when half the town knew her already? She threw her hands up mentally.

"Is my face out on a poster or something or is that just a thing here?" Gwendolyn couldn't help but ask.

"What thing?"

"The creepy know me all thing?"

"Oh, that," He waved it away, "Don't take it personally but Bugger Town doesn't get new residents easily. So if someone moves in… " He pointed two fingers into his eyes and back at her,

"All eyes on them,"

"Wow, creepy," She muttered under her breath.

"Anyway, you're new here and you're going to need a tour of the school," He offered.

"Don't you have class?"

"Being late for class once doesn't hurt," He smiled, revealing two adorable dimples. Gosh, he was so cute.

Compact yourself, Gwen. Yeah, this is no time to date but survive the rest of this nightmare called high school and wave goodbye to it afterward without the complications that come with heat break. Yeah, she would be invincible for the rest of the school year.

"Fine," She gave in and yes, Adam proved to be a worthy companion; he was like chocolate mixed with sunshine.

"As you know, this is the school and this way leads to the classes," He gestured to the rooms coming off of the corridor, "We have a gym, well, a new wider gym since the other one is being used as a storage room or sort, whatever.

"Our art facilities are video cameras, printmaking facilities, dark rooms, dance studios, and blah blah. For protection, we have fire alarms, fire and a smoke control system, emergency lighting system, school maintenance, and heat pumps that bring in air from outside," He explained, guiding her through each path they crossed.

"Kind of impressive for a town school," She praised them but her attention was suddenly snatched by the music blasting through the speakers in the dance studio.

Gwendolyn was so immersed with the song that she found herself walking to the studio and Adam didn't stop her, he was curious also to see what she had in mind. Peering through the glass door, she saw a young man dancing. No, it wasn't just ordinary dancing, he was gliding gracefully.

She couldn't take her eyes off no matter how hard she tried, it was almost as if she was drawn to him. And then, when Gwen got the chance to see the whole of his face, she gasped, how was this possible? There was only one word: He was 'inhumanly' handsome.

Although viewing from afar, she observed his smooth flawless skin which was like a sheet of well-done clothes and his rich chocolate hair that was tousled from his motion promised finesse. Strong arched brows and thick eyelashes decorated his face and though she couldn't see his eyes from that distance, she bet a blue color for strange reasons. With a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, straight nose, and thin pink lips, the dude was a sight to behold.

His appearance alone was enthralling and his pale skin looked so… right. His paleness made him look devilishly handsome and to make it worse, he was bare from his chest up. He had no shirt on and was probably sweating from the dance but she could not look further, he moved forward beyond the scope of the door and couldn't see him anymore. Gwen let out a discontented sigh.

"Falling for his charms, are we?" Adam startled her from behind. Gwendolyn had been so engrossed with this strange guy she didn't remember Adam was behind her.

"Who's he?" She couldn't help but ask.

"Duane Evans. One of the Populars,"

"Populars? "
