Chapter 46: A Jailed Conversation

“I don’t appreciate being put in jail,” Lucy shot out. Aleksandr scoffed but continued to pace. 

“You’re in ‘jail’,” he snarled. “You are in a temporary holding cell until the council has examined all the evidence.” 

“Yeah, about that, I’ve shown you everything. I have fully cooperated. Why are you making things so much harder? What else do you want from me?” Lucy barked. Aleksandr gave her a menacing look. 

“I’m sorry, have you confused me with your girl scout troop leader? Your bestie you get to have pillow fights with? Your mom even?” Aleksandr shot back. Lucy looked at him confused. 

“We aren’t friends. We aren’t close. I’m the leader of the vampiric council. I’m primarily responsible for setting the rules and enforcing them. You are a menace and you’re lucky I didn’t just destroy you.” 

“Like Orion?” she asked. Aleksandr’s eyes darken. Lucy felt certain that if his powers involved murdering with a look he would have done it.
