"Explain yourself Elder" Gega demanded while point her spear even closer.

The Elder had a mix emotion of anger and fear. He held his hands up near his face and spoke.

"Listen to me! It is all a lie. This Lord Lovo isn't here to save us. He's here to divide us! See! He's doing it now. His lie turned you all against me."

Lovo just shook his head. He started to walk around some of the buildings closest to everyone and examining them.

"Tsk tsk tsk. Can you all believe your Elder would allow this to happen?"

The rest of the goblins started to close in on the Elder.

"How could you Elder?! This was our home! You made a deal with those beats!"

"What did you give them in return!"

"Yeah! What did they take from us that you hid?!"

The crowd started to get angrier and angrier.

One female goblin started to sob uncontrollably.

"H-h-he took her!"

The goblins turned to look at her. Even Lovo slightly turned his head with a raised eyebrow.

'Oh? Is she going to spill the beans? Surprised no one guessed it by now.'

"What do you mean he took her" Toma asked.

"The older goblins! My sister!"

The tribe all finally realized and looked around. All the goblins there, besides the Elder, were young. Still growing. How did no one think of this till now!

"YOU WHAT" Gega yelled while pointing her spear point into his cheek?!

"Elder say it's not true" one of the hunters said.

The other hunters and even a few members of the tribe fell to their knees crying. The Elder lied to them. For what? To 'save' them?! Look what it cost them.

The Elder batted the spear away cutting his cheek. Blood started to trickle down his face.

"Enough! I did what I had to do! I brought the older members to those beast to eat them! They were too old to help sustain the tribe. They were just another mouth to feed! I lead the tribe and was going to make someone my heir and maintain this deal. We weren't having children as fast since we had a safe home. We ran out of older members and I couldn't fulfill the deal. They wanted our children! I refused! I did what I needed to save our tribe from those stronger then us! You should be great full! I save our children. I save our future. And all you can do is complain! I took the best choice from a list of worst choices! Would you have preferred to be slaves to the Orc in the west? Or how about the Kobols to the south? Or even traveling to the humans territory and get hunted for what we could be!"

The Elder completely believed he was in the right. He thought he took the best option out of a list of worst options. Granted he never asked the tribe what they wanted and forced them into this position.

Lovo thought that this scene seemed familiar.

'I've seen this before. Was it in a show or did I read it in a book. About a guy sacrificing his children to a white zombies or was it undead with ice powers? Ah well. Glad my guess was kinda right. I thought he was sacrificing children not the old, but it worked out.'

The tribe closed in on the Elder. The hunters, Gega and Toma all held their weapons pointed at him.

"Elder" Tome spoke "as one of the only hunters to live and find help for our tribe I ask the rest of the tribe to allow me to take over as Elder."

The other lv 2 Hunter wanted to speak up and request to be Elder instead, but seeing Lovo there and his skeletons backing up Toma. He didn't think he had a chance. He let it go.

"Does anyone abstain?"

No one spoke. Even the Elder knew his death was soon. He loved his people and didn't want to make things worse.

The Elder sighed.

"Fine. Kill me. I did what I thought was best for the tribe. End me and live a better life."

With this the tribe accepted his death and Toma as the new Elder. The parents shielded the childrens eyes as Toma took the sword and decapitated the Elder.

*Thump*

He body fell forward and his head rolled to the feet of Lovo. He bent down and took the wooden crown off and handed it to Toma.

It was bitter sweet moment. The evil deeds of the Elder was brought to light, but their village was still destroyed. They would have to rebuild. Well they would if Lovo wasn't there.

"Okay everyone. We need to rebuild" Tome called out. "There aren't many of us hunters left so that means we must train and take all that we can." This time he turned to face the lv 2 Hunter.

"Kipi here will be leader of the Hunters. Is that okay?"

Kipi was more then happy with this. He puffed his chest out trying to look more stoic.

"Of course" he said! "As the senior member I will ask Gega to join first and recruit more as they come of age."

Lovo smiled at this.

'In most stories goblins are depicted as stupid creatures. These seem to be very intelligent. Hopefully they will agree to my plan.'

"Athem." Lovo cleared his throat. "I hate to ruin this moment for you all, but I do have a suggestion."

The crowd of goblins turned and looked at him with speculation.

Before he continued he turned and asked Julki how many more hours till sunrise. He held up 2 fingers.

"I'm sure you can all tell by now that I am a Vampire. Do not worry I'm not here to trick you or anything. Truly here to help. I have a mutually beneficial suggestion. Your home is destroyed and mine needs to be fixed. Come live with me. You get a new place to stay with me and my skeletons as protectors from the other monsters. You do not have to give me your own blood. When you hunt for food I just require 1 gallon of blood a week."

The tribe had mixed feelings. Half were excited that they can get a new place to live that was actually safe. The other side, mainly the hunters and Gega, thought this offer was too good to be true. A Vampire as powerful as Lovo NOT trying to enslave them, but wanted peace. It's unheard of. They know stories of Vampires and how they just seek to rule and enslave.

Toma noticed Gega and the other hunters and spoke up.

"As new Elder I thank you Lord Lovo, but this offer is too good to be true. You said it was mutually beneficial, but I I've yet to hear what you gain from this. The amount of blood you are asking for doesn't equal us living under your protection."

"You're absolutely right!" Lovo said with a smirk. "I will be honest. I'm offering this to you for two reasons. One; I need to sleep during the day. I can have my skeletons guard, but they can't talk. It would be nice to have living being watching over my while I slept and be able to communicate with anyone that shows up at my home. And two; I'm trying to make my own town. I've seen both monsters and mortals struggle and want to make a sanctuary for both."

The goblins went bug eyed hearing this. A sanctuary for monsters and mortals?! Impossible!!

"Is this true Lord Lovo" Toma asked? "You truly want a peaceful place for mortals and monsters?"

Lovo had a puzzled look on his face.

"Of course? Mortals and monsters have both advantages and disadvantages. To discard one over the other limits your potential. If I want to be powerful I need all the help and skilled allies I can get."

THERE IT WAS! At first the goblins were confused by what he said. He made it seem like he was a Vampire that didn't want power. Nope. He definitely is. He wants power, but is going in an unheard of way.

The tribe huddled together and chatted about what to do. Lovo could hear what they were saying, but decided to tune it out.

After a couple minutes of talking they all agreed to Lovo's idea. Without him the Orc and the Kobols would definitely try to enslave them. On top of them needing to rebuild their village.

Before setting off the goblins scavenged around their ruined village for any supplies they could fine. Some simple farming tools, crop seeds, blankets and cooking pots were all found. Some of the tribe even dug a mass grave for their dead. Although the Elder got an unmarked grave.

Lovo and his skeletons started to collect all the Wolfaconda bodies and piled them on Grimmal like a pact mule. He also ordered the rest to pick up the bones from the Alpha and carry them.

Once everyone was ready Julki lead everyone back to the castle. They also made a stop to the first beast they killed to pick that up as well. He had a total of 7 beast bodies and one of them was deboned. He planned to give the Alpha to the goblins for food since he and his skeletons don't need to eat. Although, he was interested in tasting its meat.
