Knocking on deaths door

A girl that looked to be in her late teens was running frantically down a dark hallway that almost looked like the inside of a cave. She was panting, out of breath, as she reached a dead end, a look of horror and despair shrouded her face. She faced what seemed to be like a door that was unlike anything she had ever seen in this world.

The large door looked like it was made out of some dark stone in contrast to the grayish stone walls that looked crudely chiseled that made up the hallway. The door was five times larger than her and had an arc shape at the top. It had carefully carved lines on it making a circle within other circles and a five pointed star connecting it all. At first, the girl thought it was some kind of array formation but, she had never seen symbols like this before.

She was covered in blood and wounds making it hard to make out her face or anything. But if one looked closely enough you could tell that she was a great beauty that could make not just cities but even Gods fight for the right for her hand. She had silver white hair that went down her back and her body proportions were perfect to a heaven defying degree.

The sound of several pairs of footsteps could be heard approaching her from the direction she came. "Hurry, I'm sure she went this way, we can't let her get away or else coming down to the mortal realm would all be for naught" said one of the voices vastly approaching her. She turned around to see the several people who had caught up to her in the large halls standing opposite of her.

She looked at them with malice in her eyes that could kill. The middle one with dark hair started to sneer when he laid his eyes on her. "Give us the artifact Zhao Yiming, or else don't blame us for what might happen to you". "Yeah, give it to us or else we'll take more than the artifact from you" chimed in the bald headed one beside the dark haired man as he looked at Yiming with a frivolous gaze licking his lips.

Zhao Yiming was disgusted by the bald headed man's shamelessness. She looked back at the dark haired man, "I trusted you, I was the one who saved you all those years ago and brought you up to the realm of immortals. Ye Feng, I'll never forgive your betrayal for as long as I live. Nor will my Zhao clan" Yiming said in a hoarse voice. "I'd rather die than …. Give this artifact …. to … you." She struggled to say everything for how exhausted and injured she was.

Ye Feng gave out a long sigh, "so be it, nothing will stop me from getting to Godhood, not even my greatest benefactor." When she heard him, she cursed him in her heart for his selfish lust for power. He ran towards her and punched in her chest. She had no strength to even dodge. She helplessly took the hit and flew back and the large door. She spat a mouthful of blood from the attack when her back hit the door.

Her vision was getting blurry but she bit her tongue to stay awake. The seven men watched her current state with pity. Unbeknownst to all of them the blood she was shedding everywhere was slowly flowing towards the door filling in all the carvings on the door.

As Ye Feng was walking towards her the carvings started to glow as it all got filled with Yiming's blood. He stopped in his tracks looking at the door. "None of your tricks will work, don't try to resist, whatever your doing is just delaying the inevitable" said Ye Feng. Yiming slowly swept her gaze behind her with what little strength she had to see what he was looking at.

She had a look of confusion on her face. Seeing her expression Ye Feng thought 'is she really not doing this? Then what's going on'? He decided to stay put for the time being to see what was happening as he decided she wasn't going anywhere. The whole cavern started to shake as the doors symbols started glow bright red. "Whats going on??!!" Said one of the men. "I don't know, I think it has something to do with the door. At this rate the whole place could collapse. Ye Feng, let's just get the artifact and go!" Said a man with red hair tied in a ponytail amongst them. "Hold on, I want to see what's happening. It looks like that door could be opening, who knows what treasures await us in this ancient tomb. I've never seen anything like this before." "We don't even know whose tomb this is Ye Feng, how do you know it houses treasures other than that divine artifact?" Retorted the red haired man.

"That's easy, our expert couldn't even discern its age. It has to be from the age of the Gods. Think of the power we could get from other possible treasures hidden away here." The quaking seemed to have stopped as the doors symbols glowed the brightest it has been and then dimmed. The cracked down the middle with a sound of a boulder broken to pieces. It slowly started open up. Inside was was medium sized room one line running up to a platform that the blood flowed through like a river.

On the platform was a black stone like coffin. It seemed to be made out of the same material as the door was. Yiming had had fallen into the room due to the door no longer supporting her. Her blood pooled out of her wounds more vehemently due to the sudden movement. The blood finally reached the platform and like magic, it went uphill into the carvings on the coffin that were similar to the door.

The bald headed man stared at Yiming again with lust, "that's it, I'm teaching her a lesso…" He was suddenly stopped by Ye Feng. He looked at Feng with an incredulous look. "I thought you didn't care for her anymore?" "While that's true but, it seems somehow … her blood seems to be opening this tomb. If we do anything now we may never get to see the treasures it possesses Bai Guming." He replied without hesitation.

Even with his every action proving it. Hearing it from him just made Yiming fall into despair even more. If she was on the verge of death before it could even more so be said the same now. It could only be described as knocking on deaths door.
